I am a SAHM but I work Part time as an Aquatics Instructor - I teach Swimming (all ages/levels), Water Aerobics and Train Lifeguards, teach CPR.

Drink water...that should help some. Make sure you are getting enough during and after your workout.

Well....all I have had so far for lunch is two slices of Gouda cheese. I should probably go find something else to eat too....

Well...I have two kids and I know how hard it can be to get everything in. My son is an insanely picky eater (the stories I could tell!) and he used to OBSESS about what we were having for dinner every day. So, I started planning what we would eat for dinner all week on Sunday nights. I write it down and post it on the…

I tend to eat out of stress or boredom. I have found tracking my food to be a HUGE motivator to stop me from doing that. I tend to eat mindlessly...just snacking all afternoon because I am stressed or because I am not really fully engaged in what I am doing. Knowing how many calories I am actually eating has been a big…

I opened mine because when I started using the community features on here someone that friended me suggested that I open it. Before then I didn't even know that was an option. So far, it has been fine and no one has made any negative comments to me. But, I know that the minute someone does I will probably turn it private…

I work out most days (at least 6 days a week --- usually 7 though) just because I like to work out. When I am busy doing other things (laundry, cleaning, yard work, cooking etc.) I don't bother logging it. I will say that if I do something out of the ordinary (like spending all day hauling and spreading mulch in the yard)…

I know it is hard...I have come here more than once and logged for several days in a row then stopped again. I have found that friending people on here helps keep me coming back. I have also found that if I log my food even if I have a bad day and eat way too much keeps me coming back. Remember...this is not an overnight…

Awesome...just awesome...welcome back....

I don't know that I necessarily plan to cheat (although I do have nachos on Sundays and I know I am going to go over and I do it anyway). However, no matter what I eat, I log it. That way, if I see that I am heading over my limits then I can rein myself in. Then it becomes a treat and not a binge. That is why logging is so…

Well...I think that in general, society is less judgmental of men being a little overweight. Not saying that there isn't judgment...just saying that there is a wider range of what is considered acceptable. I also think that women as a general rule are harder on themselves (and on other women) then men are. Honestly, the…

Have you tried getting in the water? Water aerobics classes are fun and (despite their reputation) not just for older folks. There are all different kinds of water classes too - deep water, hydro training, aqua fit etc. etc. etc.

I use my crock pot at least twice a week. There is a really good series of cook books called "fix it and forget it" that is full of crock pot recipes. I have the "fix it and forget it lightly" book and I make something out of there at least once a week. I also have a vegetarian crock pot cookbook. I have been using it a…

I do...I ALWAYS eat my exercise calories. Some people don't (or only a portion of them) but I find that I lose weight more consistently if I actually feed my body.

Thanks for the feedback guys...I did reset all the info in it today before I worked out...weight etc. And, I had to put a new battery in. I guess I will have to play with this some. It just seems too high...I was expecting it to be more in the 500-600 range.

Best of luck to you! Friend me if you want...we can all use support from like minded people!

When I was doing weight watchers a few years ago, the woman that ran the meeting I went to often said things l like "none of us ended up here by eating too many apples". I think the same can be said for blueberries and tomatoes....

I used to drink 6 or more cokes back to back every day (free soda at my workplace). Then I started having heart palpitations and knew that there was no way I was going to be able to cut back. That might work for me for a few weeks but I knew I would end up back where I had started. So, I cut them out completely. I had one…

I snack. I tend to eat a decent sized breakfast, snack after teaching my water aerobics class in the morning, a smallish lunch then another afternoon snack then a decent dinner. Really what I think I am actually doing is just spreading my lunch out over the course of about 4 or 5 hours. I just get too hungry and tend to…

One day at a time and one change at a time. Do not try to overhaul everything at one time...far too overwhelming. Pick one unhealthy thing that you do and change that first. Don't exercise? Commit to walking 3 times a week. Drink soda? Switch to water. Eat Ice Cream every night? Stop doing that. BUT....don't do all three…

Yea! Best of luck to you. With commitment and the support around here I know you can do it.

Well...don't motivate yourself the way I did. I lost 40 lbs. and then stopped tracking after a little while. I am here now because over the past couple of years I gained 15 lbs. back because I lost all sense of portion control and the amount of calories I was really eating. Better to just stay on here and keep yourself…

Wow....I need all the energy you guys have. I work at a gym (a really nice one too) and I haven't been able to bring myself to do anything other than teach my regular classes this week. Today all I did was take my daughter to the park and walk for 45 minutes. Hopefully when this cold goes away my energy level will be back.…

Hop back on! I did weight watchers to get rid of the extra 40 lbs. I was carrying around after my kids and I was very successful. However, over the past 2 or 3 years I have slowly gained back about 15 lbs. I have found that for me the tracking of what I eat is absolutely KEY (I can really very easily bury myself in denial…

Different people do different things with their exercise calories. Some people don't eat them. However, I generally eat at least part of mine. I find that I lose weight a lot faster if I fuel my body and, for me, that includes eating my exercise calories every day.

I don't have a cheat day because I know that it is entirely possible for me to eat my entire week's calorie deficit in one day. However, my family does mexican food every Sunday night and I make myself a big plate of nachos and eat it without guilt that night. I always go over on my calorie goal that day but I try to keep…

Good job on all that fruit! However, you seem to skip meals a lot. I saw a number of days where you skipped either lunch or dinner. That is not good. The fact that you are so far under on calories most days is not good either. You NEED to eat more and you need to stop skipping meals - try eating smaller meals more…

I too am an emotional eater and ESPECIALLY a boredom eater. I have found that the simple act of logging in and recording my food every day (several times a day, actually) has been HUGE for me. Stops the mindless boredom eating in its tracks. Get back on here...friend some new people (like me!)...get going again. You CAN…

For me it is really all about logging my food and tracking how much I eat. I have been eating reasonably healthy for years now (aside from the occasional problem with chocolate or french fries) but I was still simply eating too much of them. I logged my food for over a year and lost 40 lbs (in 8 months but I was afraid to…
