i too started out with just the tools. i'm not much of a chat person on any site i use on the web, but i got started in a couple of groups and i'm really enjoying it. part of it is changing your food & exercise habits to build a new healthy lifestyle is all consuming, and yet i didn't want to be the person who can only…

i saw this recently in a healthy eating magazine- A well-balanced meal at the start of the day is a key part of a stay-slim plan. Reasearch shows that breakfast eaters typically consume about 100 fewer calories per day and weigh less than those who skip food in the morning. This strategy works long-term, too. Nearly 80…

i did read a thread (couple months ago) and several people were having alot of issues with their weight watchers scales. you've got several good suggestions of ones to try, but the weight watchers is one i'd avoid.

there are things that i'm building into habits that i will continue using (maybe eating some lower calories meals to help balance the evening out with fewer healthy foods) i've learned to eat lower calorie bread, tortillas, crackers and more low fat & fat free. I think i'll continue to use them, but can then go out for a…

coconut milk can be purchased in a low fat, too. & i didn't notice any flavor difference. (haven't seen fat free unfortunately, but any little help is good for calories)

i agree, the wii offers several "active" video games that will get you up and moving rather than just sitting. since you are just starting, you may want to try getting some new healthy patterns established for cardio & strength/weight training first, but then you may want to consider adding in some wii exercise as "extra"…

i'm with you. i don't log black coffee. (don't drink as much as i used to either) i do log lettuce. however, i do not log my vitamins & i know the multivitamin, calcium, etc do have some calories in them.

i have a bad knee as well, and cannot do the things i did years ago for exercise. i have found water aerobics work great for me. (not something to do at home, i know) but i can work really hard with no adverse effects afterwards. so, that class is 3 days a week & then between those days i try to get in 30 to 45 min on a…

ok- folks asking about sugars and all are not latte drinkers. a nonfat latte is espresso & skim milk. (mostly skim milk). i had switched to skinny or nonfat lattes long before i started dieting thinking i was doing a good thing, but it was too much with the rest of what i was eating. i really love lattes:love: , but…

well- i started dieting 6 mos ago. and have lost quite a bit so far, but not just cause i left out some foods. i mean, i've also been eating many fewer calories & exercising. but.... for the sake of the question. i haven't eaten anything that's been breaded & fried in oil since august. no french fries, no hash browns, no…

i have tried the walden's it does have a light peanut taste. the biggest problem is the texture. the only comparison i could make is that it is like lightly peanut flavored whipped cream. (blah!!!) i do think pb2 is a good peanut butter choice. to me it tastes like peanut butter made with dry roasted peanuts. yes, it is…

i have gotten in a habit of using egg beaters for most things requiring egg (they are 30 as opposed to 60 calories), but sometimes a hard boiled egg is what you want (rather than pre-scrambled like egg beaters). if you like have a whole egg, go ahead. -katie
