Thank you guys! With regards to the addiction aspect- I don't always think about food, only when I first get back on MFP. When I am so hyper-aware of logging and planning my meals out. When I am not logging, or when I have been doing it (well) for a few months I lose that sense of urgency and that "countodown" mentality.…

Shelley, I feel your pain as well. My SW is 241 and I had been down to 207 once- long, long ago... Mary, I cannot pretend to know what you go through physically, mentally, or emotionally with MS, but we are here for you. I am actually going on vacation as well- in less than two weeks!! Yea- don't think I'm not aware of the…

Now... in terms of our team challenge: please send me your start weight. Do we want to do measurements? I think we should. I think that there may be times where our weight plateaus but the inches may change.

Just to clarify- by using google docs it is a shared document and we don't have to actually email it to you, correct? Mallorie

I would love to do the challenge and I can be a captain. As long as my team doesn't expect me to fly across the US and show up on their doorstep  Mallorie
GREAT!!! Do you want to build your own team or would you like me to message you who your other 4 team members are?
You can just message me and I…

I did day 3 today and struggled a little more in some areas, but did better in others. I have a bad shoulder, so doing both sets of all of the strength can sometimes be rough. BTW- just for honesty's sake. I woke up on the second day and didn't know if I would be able to WALK I was so sore. I started this DVD about a year…

Excellent!!! And let's all remember, being told to just take the stairs is a "False message of lethargy!!" Monbeaucher: I saw it in walmart last week as well.

I had actually just started a thread today about needing motivation to stay disciplined. Is it too late for me to get in on this challenge for the July 1 pic? I am going to the beach the last week in August and wanted to get in bathing suit shape anyway, so this way I hope to get some self-encouragement from seeing the…

Hmmm, why is it so easy to see beauty in others and so hard to see it in yourself? 1. My eyes- they are a blue/grey and sometimes have a bit of teal (plus- they twinkle! ) 2. My legs- they are long and pretty lean. It makes wearing short skirts and dresses fun and easy. 3. My cheekbones- I was once told that I have…

I actually did not have a bad food weekend, but I only worked out once. That DID get me to the completion of the challenge, but I spent most of the rest of the weekend in bed.

I met the workout challenge and the water challenge. Slipped twice on the candy (oops!- darned peanut m&ms!) and I forgot to get on the scale this morning. I will have to weigh tonight- which doesn't make me happy, but it is what it is.

I was doing great with the challenge- 30 day shred on Sunday, kickball games on Mon and Tues, walking at lunch on Tues too. Too bad I took a bad tumble at first base on Mon's game and messed up my quad. I thought it was just scraped, but the walk on Tues HURT and it was throbbing. I pushed through and played Tues night,…

This is one challenge I know I can master! I had a kickball game last night, and will have another one tonight (and yes, my co-ed league is QUITE competitive- in fact, I was trying so hard last night I took a tumble once I got to first and landed in the dirt. No blood, no foul, safe at first!) and then I want to get back…

I have been continuing with the water challenge, but I forgot that I took a B-vitamin this morning. Ummm.. yea, bright, flourescent yellow pee!! It freaked me out for a minute until I remembered the vitamin!

Dina, yes I have had this happen. There are several possible reasons (and it probably is a combination of them). 1- calorie intake is important but so is the TYPE of calories and when you eat them. Example, carbs after 5 or 6pm are harder to work off than carbs early in the morning. 2- muscle weighs more than fat. I know,…

I will totally do this! I have tried C25K a few times and always stall out around week 3 or 4. Maybe using a different method will give me a push past the plateau.
-
Yes! And I just did the 30 Day Shred!
-
Ugh! I went to the doctor today and I was up 2lbs. Then again, it's TOM so i guess I am actually even? Still, it's frustrating to work so hard and see that.

I fell off the walking train this weekend, but I'm going to get back on today!

I think it is easy for all of us to feel that we "slipped up" in one manner or another over the weekend. My food wasn't TOO bad, but I didn't workout either day. So, today I have to start that up again, and that should be interesting since I'm feeling the bloat. Hoping to take care of the water weight by weigh in on Friday!

I did no soda and no candy (which was hard since I had a board meeting with lots of Diet Coke available- but I stuck to water). I was still over calories for the day- BUT I did a 2 mile walk/jog when I got home last night and per my RunKeeper app I burned 230 calories during that, so it made me happy. Today I walked to…

I am not usually a toot my own horn kind of a girl, but in this case I want to brag, and maybe provide encouragement. I have started walking to work (just shy of one mile) and a group of us walk at lunch. Last night when I got home I hit the new RunKeeper app on my phone and did 2 miles of "wogging". So, if I keep this up…

I ended up going to Friday's for lunch today. That worried me, until I saw the endless lunch (soup and salad and breadsticks). While I cannot say that I stayed away completely from the breadsticks, i CAN say that I did not get any soup (it was either cream based or SODIUM!) and I stuck to the salad and unsweetened iced…

This thread is also motivating me to get back into exercising. I have convinced a friend to start the 30 Day Shred with me today. I WANT to do Insanity, but I already have the Shred, and I think I should go ahead and get used to that before I start Shaun T.

I found the new thread! Thanks for posting the link. I hope you are all as excited to start this week's challenges as I am! I think that water and tea will be my friend. The harder part? No candy- just because people at the office have it laying around and that is a deep, dark, temptation for me. BUT- what is more…

Getting under 200 has been a goal of mine for about 10 years now. Yes, 10 years. 7 years ago I got to 207 and I was SOO excited because i could taste it. Then I let the troubles in my life derail me and I have not been able to get a handle on it again. But I know I almost did it once and I am confident I can do it again! I…

Oh no, I think I missed the 25 person mark. If not, i would love to. And even if I can't be on your tracking, I can still see what challenges are posted. BTW- this is a great idea, a definitive goal and deadline. The deadline is what keeps people motivated!

That has been, and continues to be, a difficult challenge for me. I tend to wrap my sense of worth into my appearance and as such have never felt that anyone would want to be with me. I am slowly breaking that mindset and truly trynig to start from the inside out. The first step in MFP? LOG LOG LOG! Even on the days where…

I have the same story. I had been on MPF and lost close to 20 lbs. Then I had a bad few weeks of vacation and before I knew it I had gained it all back and was so angry at myself that I gave up- AGAIN! But I can see the difference in pictures of myself and I want to get back to what I looked like, and I want to feel GOOD…
