Good afternoon all, Thanks to all who answered my question on the abbreviations used for family members. I still feel stupid, but at least my curiosity has been satisfied. :flowerforyou: SallyCC - Congrats on your weight loss. That's a wonderful accomplishment! tammytylerjon - I hope your little dog's health…

Coming up on our four year anniversary on February 2nd. We got married on the beach in Mexico and are headed there on Sunday! Can't wait!!!

Give it more time. The scale will catch up. I've found that weight loss requires patience.:grumble: Good luck!

Good morning again all, I know this is probably a stupid question, and the answer is probably obvious, but I'm having a senior moment, so please indulge me. What the heck does DH, DS, DD, etc. stand for? :embarassed: I'm figuring husband, son, daughter, but what does the "D" mean? Oh Lord, I know I'm going to feel like a…

Good Monday morning everyone, Thanks to all of you who offered encouragement and support regarding my work complaints. I have decided to take the bull by the horns and air my issues directly to my bosses this week. I have already E-mailed to request a meeting. I think I have some valid points. Somehow, just the act of…

I absolutely believe that everything (good and bad) happens for a reason. I don't know why, but sometimes, just sometimes, I find the reason, and it's always a revelation! Why did I stay in an unhappy marriage for so long? Who knows? There were many times that my ex was a source of strength in difficult situations in spite…

Good morning and TGIF! This has been a long and tough week. Year end reviews were yesterday, and although they were "very happy" with my performance, they are not anticipating a good year in 2013, so, of course, it's the employees who suffer. I was with my company when it first started 25 years ago, and they were very good…

Milo is a rescue dog of unknown origin...lol Really, we don't know what he is. All we know is he's a big 'ol ball of fur and we sure love him!

Good morning everyone, I overslept yesterday, so I decided to get my exercise in at night (which I never do, because I'm wiped out when I get home from work). But I actually did it! It felt good, but I still prefer to exercise in the morning. Ah, insomnia! A perk of menopause. I knew it well. I finally caved in and decided…

All I know is I'm leaving for a two week vacation in Mexico in less than two weeks, so I'll be eating out every night at a Mexican restaurant. And I'm not planning on watching my calories while on vacation. The food there is just so YUMMY! I know that if I get right back to logging and counting calories when I get back,…

I weigh myself every day (morning & night), but I only log my weight on Wednesday afternoons. The only reason is that the first time I weighed myself before starting with MFP, it was Wednesday afternoon. Just made sense to me to keep the same day and time every week.

So inspirational! Thank you for sharing your pics. Of course you look great, but more importantly, you FEEL great! Here's to a happy and healthy life!

:flowerforyou: JulieAfter age 50 (or maybe even 40), it just takes a little longer for the weight to come off, but the good news is that if you stay with it, it WILL eventually catch up and the pounds will disappear! I, too, was very discouraged in the beginning, because I was under the mistaken impression that I would…

Good morning all, Forgot to set my alarm last night and got up too late to do my morning walk on the treadmill. Guess I'll have to suck it up and do it tonight after work. @cecpetzzz I had a hysterectomy a few year back and thought my stomach could never get flat again because the muscle had been cut, but I was…

Reality TV has nothing to do with it. The fact is, they film that show over a period of months, and you can SEE people losing weight. I'm sure a lot of stuff is fake on those shows, but the weight loss is REAL. Just sayin.....

I really don't understand the "starvation" thing at all! All I know is that on the show "SURVIVOR" where everyone is hardly eating, they ALL lose a lot of weight! I don't mean to offend anyone, but I find it hard to believe that anyone eating less calories for an extended amount of time would not lose ANY weight. If I am…

Good morning ladies, Thanks for all the inspiring posts and advice. Also thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers for my father-in-law. He is getting a CAT scan of his belly today. We're hoping to get some answers. @wannabethingirl2 I struggle with being regular also. It's definitely worse since I've cut down on…

LOL I know what you mean! I had to stop eating them (and yes, I only ate one a day). I looked it up online to see if other people had the same problem and found out that there is a whole website related to this, and it's a riot!

Key West in October of 2012. My girlfriend kept taking pictures, so I gave her my best RAAHHHH move to make her stop (She did!)

Thanks for the advice, Hope! I too do my walking in the morning before work (6am) and listen to "Preston and Steve" which makes it somewhat bearable, but it still doesn't get easier. It takes me 1/2 hour to do the 2 miles and I'm feeling like I should be doing more, but can't imagine going any faster as it is still not…

NOPE! Once someone walks off the show, you NEVER see them again! It's happened before. I watch the show because it's like a train wreck.....don't want to look, but can't stop staring! It makes me cringe, but I do love to see the transformations! I think they put too much emphasis on exercise, and not enough on diet.…

Good morning ladies and welcome to all the new people to the site. We finally got all of our Christmas decorations down this past weekend except for some of the outside stuff which we will hopefully get to this week. My father in law is not doing well. He has been in the hospital for the past month, but it seems his…

I married my perfect man four years ago on the beach in Mexico. He is kind, romantic, funny, considerate, quiet, smart, a great cook, extremely handy, and the love of my life! The day we married was like a fairy tale, but every day since then I wake up with a smile on my face thanking God for sending me this wonderful man!…

We live in Claymont, just off of I-95. Kennett Square isn't far from me. Funny you are living in NC because our plan, when we retire, is to move to NC! Looking forward to warmer weather and less snow!!! Good luck with your doctor's appointment tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be something that can easily be treated, but for…

Hi Shelly, Welcome! I see this is your first post. I wish you all the best in your journey to get healthy and fit. May 2013 be the best year yet!

WOW! I am blown away by all the support on this thread! I guess by the time we ladies reach the ripe old age of 50+ we are just a bit kinder. I love how so many of you know each other well enough to respond and offer words of encouragement for specific issues. I hope I can get to that point and get to know all of you…

I don't know. I think everything that happens, happens for a reason. I was married (unhappily) for 31 years to an addict. As bad as it was, I feel like there was a reason I stayed so long. We did have children, so that made a difference. Now that I'm happily married, I feel like if I left my first husband earlier, I might…

Just had to reply to this one. My birthday is December 30th, so as with anyone having a birthday close to Christmas, I've put up all my life with "This is for Christmas AND your birthday"! This year was my 60th, so my husband wanted to make it special. He bought gifts and cards for three days in advance with a…
