  • I had one for a couple of years. One of the best investments ever. Really pushed me hard, and I really started to enjoy the pain. Sorted out so many issues with my posture, knee pain etc as well as improving my health. It also gave me a point of accountability each week, and even if I started to derail I knew I had my…
  • I would chip in and say Twirl... if you buy a four pack of two finger packets, you get shorter fingers (well the chocolate, not your fingers) in a certain product. Eat one finger and it's 70 cals, save the next to the next day. Mini Milkybars also under 100, but I find I eat them too fast. :)
  • To be honest, that's the best way around! An unmotivated mind can talk you out of exercising for days, weeks, or years on end! A body has off days... lack of sleep, what you've eaten etc... and next day you may do better. So I wouldn't worry too much. Don't force your body if it really won't do it. Just try again in a…
  • Very tough. I was really good a couple of years ago, and had some issues at home, then made redundant, then had no job... then was working long hours. Now facing redundnacy again. Trouble is I realise then I've had two years of excuses, and I've put on a lot of weight. I don't know the answer... I'm an emotional…
  • Nothing says "I love you" like being forced to buy gifts. If you really love someone you'll love them all year round. Not on one special day because the retail industry and silly superstitions tell you to do so. (Yes, I am single... but I do believe this.)
  • Very simple. You'll lose weight if: Calories eaten < calories burnt. Doesn't mean it's healthy, but you did ask about weight loss so that's the answer.
  • For me it's beer and cheese. Those two are my downfall in life. If I didn't like them, I'd be very slim. :D
  • I think that's key. If you're hungry - eat. Your body is telling you it wants food. As long as it's proper hunger of course, rather than fake hunger. Hard to tell, I know... :D
  • Welcome! You have a cat?! ;)
  • I aim to eat my calorie allowance, then any exercise is 'bonus weight loss' as it were. So no, I don't eat more to offset my exercise. Which also is why I don't record my exercise in the MFP application... I don't want it encouraging me to eat more! :)
  • It was a question, it was not rude. You are the one that has resorted to disgusting, offensive language - THAT is rude. It was a mere 8 hours. Bumping is frowned upon in most respectable internet communities because it forcefully reasserts one's topic and pushes other topics out of the way. It's the internet equivalent of…
  • Why are you bumping your own topic after less than 8 hours, and when you already have numerous replies?
  • Get your friends to join the site and work with you. It implies that if you are doin it together, rather than alone, you're more likely to succeed.
  • You can definitely build muscle and lose weight on a calorie controlled diet. I have done so.
  • Yeah first week 7lbs isn't too hard. Ongoing i used to be able to do about 3.5lbs (when I was younger) but generally aim for 2lbs - 2.5lbs now.
  • Very normal! Alcohol (as much as I love it) has many bad effects on the body. You'll dehydrate, which will affect your performance. You body has an endorphine drop off, which makes you feel sluggish or anxious. It's a very basic form of sugar, so your body has a spike in sugar then a drop, again making you feel more…
