  • Hi all! I’m Suzy and have been “on” MFP for years! Looking to be accountable and am ready to hit it!
  • What is happening with this group?
  • I am plant based on the advice of my doctor. There is a great documentary, Forks over Knives, that I really like because it explains everything so well. There are varying opinions about whether to use/incorporate fats, etc. I feel much better when I really adhere to this approach, but I have to admit that I find it hard…
  • Hi! I'm Suzy. I love to bike, swim, and walk/hike. I've been vegan (mostly) since March 2017. I want to lose about 10 more pounds. I used MFP about 7 years ago and was very successful at losing the weight, but... Now I'm back and determined. I'd like to get stronger and fitter. My biking goal this season is 2,000 miles.…
  • I know you have all been doing this for the past month! Wow! I love this idea and just saw this thread. If you are going to continue it for April (and this last day of March), I'm in! Just for today: Exercise (strength, walk) Stick with the eating plan No soda
  • Staying within my caloric range with snacks being "clean" (I can be very creative in the not-so-good way!).
  • Love all of the help and advice. My doc is great and believes in integrative medicine. My various blood levels are checked about every 3-4 months with med adjustments taking place in the meantime. The frustrating part is that over time things change and the meds have to be readjusted. For me, it wasn't just the T4, but…
  • Thom2369, being honest, open, and real is what makes the support here. Don't get down on yourself! You started this group and that is what makes you a good leader. If you didn't struggle, you could not relate! With that being said, you can do this!
  • I have a 5k set for this Saturday and after that it's back to the gym. I joined a drop 6 class (6 lbs in 6 weeks) that starts this Friday. I need the motivation of others all around! Beginning next week I'll be doing TRX, Spin, Bodypump, water aerobics and the treadmill. I don't want to start taking the classes this week…
  • I love this idea! In the past I have been very fit, but I got lazy and tired! Fluctuate between working out and eating clean to being tired of doing this all of the time. I would like to stick with it, eat clean, and be strong. Would love to be part of this group!
  • I would love to join you! It's crazy that everything and everyone is going through about the same thing, same height, same weight, and same goals. Me too! I've been feeling alone and sometimes its harder when others don't see you as being overweight. I need support! Logging has been hard and I've been see-sawing on how to…
  • No interest in a paid subscription, but it does irritate me that after all of this time they want to turn it into a profit center. Makes business sense, but, just saying.

  • Love the conversations! I can so relate and am just trying to hang in there. It's all about a "life-style". It's hard for me to grasp that this is forever... Not a temporary thing just until I reach my goal. For me it's more about eating good foods versus grabbing what I may be craving... Chocolate, etc.! From what I have…
  • Agree! I come look to see what everyone is doing and am always inspired! Keeps me going and even though I don't "know" you, I like getting to know you!
  • Late, but I'm in! CW: 125 GW: 115 UGW: 113
  • BRaye, our community has the expensive option of the YMCA, but one of the high schools on the area also opens up their pool for community lap swim and water aeorobic classes for around $2 per time through the use of a punch card. Love it! Also, many Park & Rec Departments have fun activities/classes.

  • Better late than never! I'm in! Goals: 1. Log everything before it goes into my mouth 2. No eating after supper 3. Lose 4 pounds by May 1
  • Swim-on friends, lose & win.[/quote] Thanks for those insights, really appreciated. I have been frustrated not feeling as comfortable in the water as I recalled from decades ago. Totally makes sense that buoyancy and center of mass is very different from what I remember. I'm having a much harder time breathing smoothly…
  • Thanks for this info and encouragement! I love working out, but then I get to a point where I get sooooo tired and the everyday stresses get to me and I just crash. Then I end up taking a few days off to rest. My dr is really good and I have another blood test scheduled next month. I also need to eat gluten free and only…
  • Good morning, and welcome, memer101! Congrats on the grandkids! We just added #6 to the bunch, but I only have two kids (and their hubbies!). This group is great and brings me smiles in the thick of it! So glad that you are focusing on your health... You want to be able to play with all those grandkids! Success yesterday!…
  • In my wildest dreams I never thought that my nail polish experiences would generate such comments! If I ever meet you and my nails are super glossy, you'll know why! LOL! Due to my work schedule, day and night today and tomorrow, I'm not setting my alarm and will sleep as needed (no morning workouts today or…
  • Okay, the weekend's challenges are over! Actually, our meals were really "good for you" foods, but didn't do so well with portion control. My stomach has been kind of touchy since our Easter celebration, so something weird is going on. Nuffer, nice going on the swimming! After I got back into the pool, I couldn't believe…
  • I'm in! A bit late, but, oh well! 4/3 Me: 1 LNS: 0
  • Way to go! Getting off of insulin in MAJOR! And 13 pounds is fantastic! Welcome to the group, and hope go get to know you better!
  • You all make me smile! So, from what I understand from all of you is if I put nail polish on each of my toe nails while laying on my back, I could log it in MFP as ten sit-ups, right?!! Awesome! On another note, my taste buds are making progress! I always taste anything I bring to someone else's house b Yesterday I had to…
  • Happy Friday! The warm weather is gone and it's back down in the 30's. Ugh! I always find it interesting how some men lose weight faster. My husband is not one of the fortunate ones. He has a bad back which limits his mobility and most of his weight loss comes from lower intake of calories. My nails look great!
  • My strategy this evening is putting nail polish on!
  • Such good ideas! Thank you! I love popcorn and you can just put it in a paper bag with scotch tape to keep it closed!
  • I'm so happy to see all of you being so strong! Having a hard time this week. My head knows all of the right things to do, but... Worst time of the day is, you guessed it, the evening. I don't know what happens, but I seem to start eating and can't stop. Errrrr!
  • You are so right! I'm having more fun now than ever before!
