Well its because youre body isn't used to it. It's called DOMS..delayed onset muscle soreness; whenever you are working a muscle that you don't normally or changing up routines you are likely to experience it.

Of course, I remember the first time I lifted heavy I felt like I was going to die and could barely wash my own hair but after I massaged my muscles my arms felt much better!

For arms take a long shower and massage your biceps and triceps with warm water running on them!
