  • I'm coming from the opposite perspective and will just say to be prepared. We adopted out our German Shepherd (that we loved dearly) because handling him with my son was too much and then I got pregnant again. The hair everywhere was atrocious! Granted he was a huge dog and very demanding so the situation may be completely…
  • I used to get a half gallon of ice cream, eat like 3 servings then run hot water into it to get rid of it and throw it away because if I kept it I'd eat it all that day. I also used to get sprinkled donuts and eat only the top part with the frosting.
  • Wow you manually pump?! That might explain why you hate it so much! I rent a Medela Symphony and also have a Medela Pump in Style Advanced. Both are double electric and pumping shouldn't hurt - mine start with low suction and then you can adjust it.

  • I exclusively pump because I don't make enough to EBF (I have glandular issues) and my daughter was a preemie in the NICU for 10 days. I feel your pain, I started with 8 to 12 pumps per day and now I am down to 4 and she's 10 weeks old. I only get 12-16 oz per day so she's been supplemented with formula from day one. I…

  • This isn't a healthy suggestion, but maybe if he eats desserts a lot to make him some high calorie ones? Like the others suggested with the full fat foods, I agree with that. Time to get an electronic cigarette for him or something!
  • THIS! My husband and I are the same height and I outweigh him by about forty pounds (curves + just had a baby). He used to be around 140 at 6 feet tall and is now 180-ish due to lots of time at the gym building muscle. Anyway, throughout high school he told me he was constantly made fun of for being so skinny and his…
  • I think this is crazy and it's happening to me too! Not "the last ten pounds" but how about the entire 50 I have to lose and none of it is coming off! There's a ton of surplus there for her and I'm so hungry when I breastfeed even though I only pump like 12-16 ounces a day (low producer, medical reasons). She has acid…
  • I think that's very true in my previous experience and that of my fellow mommy friends. This time I am supplementing with formula and pumping, and I have about 60 lbs to lose and none of it has budged.
  • Do transverse abdominus exercises, you can look them up online (planks, etc.). They've really helped me after an unplanned C section!

  • I was already overweight before pregnancy and gained 30 during pregnancy. I only lost about 10 after delivery and even though I'm breastfeeding nothing is budging.
  • Thank you ladies for sharing your stories and for the positivity!
  • I'm Tracy and I live in Las Vegas. I have a 15 month old son, Brock (born 2/12/13) who was recently joined by his one month old sister, Emma (born 4/25/14). Brock is quite the rambunctious little toddler and is taking his time with talking. Emma was born five weeks premature and in fact my due date with her is this coming…
  • I was five weeks early this time around, they had to deliver her via C-Section because she was anemic and there were some other complications.
  • You're not alone! I had post partum depression after I had my son in February 2013. I just had my daughter on 4/25. Our hormones are on such a roller coaster after giving birth. The placenta produces 300 times the normal amount of progesterone non pregnant women have and once we give birth boom it's gone. Three to four…

  • Hey mommas! Congrats to everyone having their babies! Long story short, my doctors were trying to keep Emma in as long as possible and didn't want me to have her until tomorrow (36 weeks). However, last Thursday I had cramping and bleeding (not labor pains or period cramps, more like stabbing pains for 20 minutes or so)…
  • I'm currently 35 weeks and stuck in the hospital until delivery. Emma has isoimmunization hemolytic anemia and they might actually induce me today. I've gotten two steroid shots already and they keep doing tests to see if she stayed the same or got worse. Obviously this is not the birth I envisioned but I'm trying to roll…
  • I would certainly hope that none of the rest of us have a baby preterm, I'm hoping Emma stays put till at least 39 weeks! I understand wanting a smaller baby though - one of my friends just pushed out an almost 10 lb boy and oh goodness, LOL.
  • I would go see a chiropractor. I go every week now because I had the same problem and my hip also pops out of place. Turns out baby has my pelvis tilted backwards and my right leg was an inch shorter than my left!
  • This is my second (and last) baby and I am looking forward to having my body back. I've basically been pregnant for two years. I'm in the doctor's office every week on average 3 times a week to do fetal monitoring plus my normal appointment... not to whine but I'm just tired of all the running around. She's totally worth…
  • I also just want to comment regarding the whole ultrasound dating thing - both of my doctors maintain that the due date DOES NOT CHANGE. Babies don't always grow at a constant rate, so you might measure ahead one week and behind the next, that's what's happening to me right now but my due date is still 5/31. I did have to…
  • Sorry if someone has already said it, but drink a ton more water and have some with fresh lemon juice squeezed in it every morning and every evening. It helps me a lot.
  • I make the mistake of thinking everyone does this since I do it too. I plan and log continuously throughout the day. That should definitely help you.
  • Between my perinatologist every two weeks, monitoring twice a week and my regular OB every two weeks, plus the chiropractor once a week - I feel you! Congrats on no more previa, that's awesome. I hate when people make stupid comments about a pregnant woman's size or due date or whatever... they just need to shut up. It's…

  • I have a support belt that I got off of Amazon and it helped me last time. I haven't had to use it yet but here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Gabrialla-Elastic-Maternity-Support-Medium/dp/B000ZKE4AM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396370162&sr=8-1&keywords=maternity+support+belt
  • I personally think this is fine as long as you aren't intentionally limiting calories. Definitely don't do that! I am almost 32 weeks and my morning sickness hit me hard again with a bang over the weekend - worst than the first trimester. I am feeling better today but don't have any appetite. I was eating 2500+ and then…
  • My daughter will be Emma Louise :-) Our second runner up was Madison.
  • The one thing I have learned about pregnancy weight gain = it doesn't make sense. Plus it isn't all fat either, in fact very minimal fat if you don't overeat like crazy. Our bodies change shape after giving birth for various other reasons, like the stretching of the uterus and having our internal organs crammed everywhere…
  • I can't stress this enough. I am six feet tall and started at 212 when I was pregnant with my first, had the positive test in June 2012. When I gave birth in February 2013 I was up to 255. At my six week postpartum visit I was down to 225. I then went up to 235 due to post partum depression and other issues and stayed…
  • I totally agree and need to quickly get rid of a hormone-fueled rant about this. Us pregnant women, especially in our second or third trimester, need to be eating. I see so many of my friends on here, many of whom are in their third trimesters, eating 1200-1500 calories a day or eating over 2000 and freaking out that they…
  • I have a desk job and even just the acts of getting ready in the morning going to work and getting out of the house are causing my ankles to swell, LOL. I am so crazy tired it's not even funny. I don't get much activity because every time I try to do something I get lightheaded - all that extra blood flow makes things…
