That was my first thought when I read her post. Nothing was said about him wanting her to be healthy so they could stay together as long as possible. I had a similar thing happen with my husband. We met online and he knew I was overweight. When I got there, the second day, I knew something was off. When I talked to him he…

I weigh and I have been fortunate that I still lose weight. Drinking plenty of water and not giving in to hormones is key.

I stay within my goals, plan ahead to stay on track. If you eat out, don't eat the entire meal. Put some on a side plate and get it out of sight. If its takeaways, do the same and pile your plate high with veggies.

Healthy eating and exercise is all you need to get your metabolism going. I have lost 90 pounds by eating healthy foods I love to eat and once in a while, I have a nice treat. I still enjoy my takeaways and pizza, just not as much on the plate and I load the rest of the plate with veggies. I'm 41 and I have averaged 2.4…

I agree with the poster about stop making excuses. I have 4 children and although 2 are in school all day, I have 1 at home yet and the other in preschool. I do whatever I can to get an hour in 6 days a week. You could get up an hour before your husband leaves for work. You probably have a double or triple buggy, use it…

It's a very expensive pedometer that isn't accurate enough for me to spend such money. I prefer a heart rate monitor.

You will be fine unless you have a heart condition. It wool go up like that until you get more fit. Then you will have to work your tail off just trying to get near that number. The higher your heart rate, the more conditioned your heart gets and the more calories you burn. I used to think I had to keep it in the fat…

WW isn't for me, I would rather use the money for something else. You will get out what you put in, in any healthy program. Your ticker says you have lost 48 pounds, I would be very happy with that. What aren't you happy with?

I started out the same way. I had 130 pounds to lose! Yikes. At the beginning it just seemed unreal. But now it seems unreal that I'm only 12 pounds away from losing 100!!!! Break everything down into manageable mini goals. That has really helped me. My next goals: Drop 12 pounds to lose 100 pounds before bible week! 14…

I'm only 5' 4.5" and 41 and 170.8 pounds. However, I do use a hrm. My resting heart rate at 230 pounds was 54 and now I have been doing cardio for a good while and I try to train at times at my target heart rate, my heart is even more conditioned. I used to power walk/ jog back then and I could easily burn 1100 calories in…

When you're really just starting out, it can just seem daunting. I don't know how much you have to lose but break it down into mini goals if needed. I was very overwhelmed when I started. I have a total of 130 pounds to lose and now I only have about 45ish to go! My next mini goals are: 12 pounds to get to 100 lost (my…

The calories add up so be sure to log each one you eat.

I pay attention to my sugar. There is a limit for a reason. Also, be careful of dried fruit, many have added sugar.

Don't diet, they never work or last. You will get there!

Personally, for me, there is too much conflicting information out there so I won't consume anything that contains it. Not easy because I actually like it as well as the diet sodas. My biggest trust issues about it is that it was approved after Monsanto bought the company. Monsanto is one huge corrupt corp and they have or…

You are so right, every little bit helps.....sending you a friend request. Can you open your diary so we can see what you are eating? It's not typical to hit a plateau at that weight and not far in. How long has your rut been?
-
I would say its water weight. You have to work hard with weights to gain muscle weight. The thing is, if you don't reach your goal in April, there is nothing wrong with May. You will get there.

Try and eat a larger, healthier breakfast. That will be a great start to the day. Then add a fruit and/or veggie snack in between meals. Prepare your snacks in the morning so they are ready to just grab. Regular yogurts are a healthy way of adding calories too. I was like this at first. I had a hard time eating 1000…

Personally, I would have to reach out even though it won't change anything, it shows others care and there is a support system for them when they are ready.

The fitbit is just a fancy expensive pedometer. I would rather spend my money on a good hrm. I'm in a position right now where my resting heart rate is so low now (45, low to me) that I have to run or do high impact aerobics to really burn calories. If I had based my calories burned on the fitbit, I would be given way…

I'm always going over! Will be 3 over today! Today, most of my fiber comes from oats, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts.

I would LOVE for an allergy just to be a fashion. My toddler is allergic (not intollerent) to dairy and soya. It is very difficult taking him out to eat because 99% of the foods that are dairy free are soya based. If we get invited anywhere or eat out, I always take a meal for him. I also do that because it just makes life…

I'm really naughty about stuff like this. For unhealthy food coming into your house, set up that food as you normally would, don't eat it or eat it if its within your allowance....nothing wrong with a nibble but you have to be able to stop yourself. When they go to leave, wrap up her left over food and give it to her to…

Thank you all for the great advice! I've been out in the garage sorting and making a good space for it. Would have loved to have kept it in the house but at least the elliptical can stay in. Had a laugh though, the barbell alone is quite a weight! I say, bring it!

Your body doesn't know one week from another. So some of the loss could be a run on from the previous week

It's a great form of cardio and if you keep a good pace, you can burn a good amount of calories compared to walking.

I haven't read all the replies but you have to dig out the strength in you. You are here so I know you are stronger. You MUST let the past go and move on. Have a talk with your parents about how much they hurt you, tell them you forgive them and then move on. Let them make the next move. And before you say I don't…

I went back and forth so many times on this but to me, it's not worth the money unless it has a heart rate monitor with a great algorithm to calculate your calories. My reasoning: I started lots of cardio training at 258 pounds. At 220-225, I got a Garmin FR70. I found my resting heart rate to be 53! Wow, how great is…

Could you set an alarm to remind you to eat breakfast and lunch? Then have 2 small snacks in between. That way, it's not as stressful trying to eat all day and figure out what is 200 calories. Also, have you thought about swimming? All the best

Being obsessed about calorie counting is a good thing to me. It makes me look at every single calorie and ingredient I consume. It keeps me away from the junk, it teaches me how to eat and what to eat. It shows me when I can have my treats. This is one obsession that will keep me alive for longer and give me the foundation…
