@alleykat: You know what I think? Screw future MIL, you are beautiful to your fiancee and that is what matters. Do you need to be healthy? Yes, but skinny does not equal healthy, or all the bulimic and anorexic girls would be cover models on health magazines. You are doing what you need to do the right way and it doesn't…

Yeah, he works with me in the call center, so I can make sure he doesn't eat McDonald's and stuff. We live together and I buy the lunch stuff when we go grocery shopping. He is willing to try the food I will be making, so far nothing out of the ordinary, but he is a picky eater. He did say he wanted to try doing the…

Wednesday Wish: I wish that my boyfriend would also try and lose weight with me. I love him very much and plan on spending the rest of my life with him (if he'll put up with me for that long) but I am afraid he won't be around as long because he is so unhealthy.

Ok so I need some advice, my blender burned out on me today, and I use it daily to make my breakfast smoothies since I don't have time to cook before work. Anyone have a suggestion on a good, hardy, but inexpensive (Less than $150) blender?

@ Everyone: You guys are great and very supportive. I think this was what I was missing the first few times I tried to get healthy. I even have empirical evidence. When I was living with my folks, my mom and I decided to diet and work out together. We did great for 3 solid months. Then she threw her back out and quit and…

Honestly? Vit D ointment. Like the kind used for baby diaper rash... I get that sometimes too, you may also want to check to see if you are allergic to latex, you'd be surprised what latex is in these days!

I know how you feel, I look at pictures of myself and think, "How could I have let this happen?" Just be careful not to cross the line into depression (as I have done many times). Think of how you got there, and how you are going to change now, and put a positive spin on it (ie "Think how encouraging to others my success…

Have you thought about breaking up your "big meals" into several smaller to eat meals at set times through out the day? I know a lot of people that struggle to eat enough, and when they do that it seems to be more manageable. Lets say with exercise factored in you need to eat 1800 calories a day (which minus exercise will…

Hello everyone! August Goals Exercise: Find one exercise I can do at my desk at work and do it Mon-Fri Nutrition: Stay around 1500 calories a day at least 5 days a week. Tuesday Goals Update: So far since starting on August 1st, I have only had one day where I went over my 1500 calorie limit. As for exercise I have been…

I am hopping to get to that. I haven't started exercising yet because frankly I hate to. But I want to make this a permanent lifestyle change and my biggest trip up is food, so I am focusing on learning "eat this not that" techniques and portion control. Congrats that you have finally made it in that arena!
