  • Welcome to the group! I'm sorry it's hitting you hard, but you really need to understand that our generations are dealing with an issue that people ...even from before the depression didn't have. We have too much food and it is everywhere. Every celebration, every work appreciation, every dinner date, weddings, funerals,…
  • Calling someone fat over 15 pounds is not motivation.
  • Yah being a chick loosing weight has not been fun either. Honestly though the best thing you can do is lose slowly, drink lots of water, and probably weightlifting. The weights are the only thing my doctor has said 'Yes, this can lessen the appearance of loose skin. ' :)
  • My parents definitely were the clean your plate people. Till I was about 10 and obese. I think it's a balance. If you make healthy food and give them a reasonable amount, no harm done. If you take your kids to a restaurant and not get a kids meal and force them to eat it all, or tell them to eat a whole plate of mac n…
  • I get this a lot...and I even felt the same way last year. But this last 40 pounds can go suck it. Honestly I second one other poster...I was more surprised at how few calories I needed, and then was equally shocked by how many calories I had been consuming to gain the weight!
  • Wow...and some of these responses.... Look at the person you fell in love with, you're still the same people. Ask him what you guys are going to do when you're 75-80 and a bag of wrinkles, and he is too! Dig deeper society. Smh. -_-
  • Go to 1500 instead? That's three 500 calorie meals. :) Still around 500 calorie deficit a week. And MFP says 1200 is the minimum. <3
  • Adding quick calories is really cheating yourself as well, macros are an important part of the game. Especially if you're working out that much.
  • I have a really tough time at night too. I know my reason though... I'm always alone at night. Sadly at work it's like I have a rep to protect (They all noticed the 60 pound loss last year.) Or I'm watching people eat mcdonalds and burger king all day and it makes me feel blech about eating. I try to get the Yoplait light…
  • I was quoted 15k for the tummy tuck and I just...I can't do it. That's a down payment on a house. My mother also had one and she said the pain was worse than childbirth for about a week. :/ So I'm just trying to learn to love myself. I have been told if I loose this last 40 pounds and keep it off for two years insurance…
  • I log in the morning and then only bring that food with me to work. So I don't have a choice, it works wonderfully. :)
  • I've lost about 160 now, with 40 more to go. Only 20 till I hit the 100s for the first time since 9th grade. Always welcoming new friends. :)
  • Hey guys, Anyone can feel free to add me. I've lost 160 of the 200 pounds I wanted to lose. Forty more to go. :)
  • Well...I actually had my moment in phases. By 22 I had diabetes (bad, like 1200 blood sugar count), Stage two hyper tension (167/131 with P of 132) and I was 350 pounds. Which....is not a good weight to be at, at any age. That apparently wasn't enough though...when I was 24 my pancreas stopped working and I landed myself…
  • So I need to lose 40 pounds....but I started needing to loose 200 pounds so I feel ya on that last stretch. I just recommitted today myself. If you'd like to be friends maybe we can help each other out. :)
  • Ohmygoodness... If those cookies are bothering you being in your room then throw them out! That is not a healthy behavior. Is your mother worried your father will be angry? And you know every once in a while cheating is ok, so try not to be so hard on yourself. However, you now know that you do have the inner strength to…
  • I think people really miss out on the complexities of people and run after the wrong things. That being said, we all have preferences, and it doesn't make us shallow individuals. Our minds are given the ability to choose preferences so we can obtain happiness from our life. Now,my generation is also some of the most…
  • I'm already being told to stop losing weight and I'm at 215....RIGHT? Not 115, 215! Do what feels right for you and plan it out with your doctor. If you truly have a large bone structure they will be able to tell you if your goal is 'too drastic' or not. Otherwise...ignore the haters. :p
  • Well it was really difficult. I hit about 362 pounds at 21. It was devastating, and took an emotional toll because that is supposed to be your party time, I never felt like partying. So I got sick of it, and I snapped. I had the help of a good friend who actually helped me think I could do it. Pushed me to start. I got…
  • Gotta be careful with these pills too. My heart did not appreciate being shocked into 140 bpm :/
  • I eat bread. Hell I eat hot pockets if it fits in my day. Unless you have a glucose problem, my personal suggestion (I'm not a PT or anything!) is to not limit the groups of food you present to your body. Then they are going to adapt to a really strict diet and everything will make you feel sick. Again just my person…
  • People who have success stories get wrapped up in technicality trying to promote their way. The truth of the matter is if you make an effort, an honest- painful and annoying effort, you are going to lose weight. Balance and moderation makes a body happy. Zen. :)
  • Who does things 100%? I think if you only 'eat clean' (Which to me is like produce and meats not coated) 40% of the time, great for you! That 40% will help you get the vitamins and minerals you need. I think it's more that so many people now a days live on TV dinners and fast food (Guilty on the TV dinners) that just…
  • I drink these all the time and it's completely taken my craving for sodas away. I think it's worth it.
  • Honestly I used to looooove coffee...Drank six cups a day. Found out this weekend by BP was 174-128 and tried to drop the stuff... Oh my goodness, this is worse than Xanax withdraw. :(
  • Diabetes Heart attacks 352 pounds at 22... None of that did it for me. When I left my partner because I thought I was ugly...I started dropping really fast. Granted I've been trying my whole life.... But that was the breaking point, where I felt so bad about myself I didn't even think I deserved to be happy. :/ Now I'm…
  • Since people tend to get sensitive about this topic...this is just MY experience. I was on the atkins diet for two years straight during my developmental years, this is NOT how the diet is supposed to go (but was set up by my doctor!). Unfortunately It cause me to have a lot of insulin issues once I was taken off of it. I…
  • This is my personal opinion, I am not a doctor/nutritionist/trainer. What is the reasoning behind this 7 pound loss? Is it getting back to a before weight? Just a random goal? If you're working out that much I think you're eating too little. I don't go around shouting 'Starvation mode!' but I am living proof that if I do…
  • Calories in verses calories out results in weightloss.... If you have a heart condition- This is where you need to watch Sodium Insulin issues- Those are your carbs (I can't eat white carbs and lose...NOT saying that's for everyone, that's for me. :)) If you want to build and preserve muscle- That's your protein And if you…
