@ChapinaGrande ---- Thank you!! (for the answers, and for giving me a pass on my inability to count). I promise I will salt the beans :-).

Two questions -- for the crockpot: how much water and how much salt (and is the salt necessary?) And (ok, I guess it's now really 4 questions) ---will you share your secret black bean brownie recipe?

I'm so in. Failing to exercise is one of the reasons I'm as big as I am. I've started walking, I think I have like 4 days in Aug. Yeah, I know. So this is a great way to hold myself accountable.

Absolutely LOVE beets. Fresh preferred by far, packaged fresh cooked is good, canned is fairly icky. Like them raw (shredded in lettuce salads or with shredded carrot and jicama) or juiced (mix with apple/carrot/celery/lemon) or cooked - baked (omg good) or boiled. I add sliced cold boiled beets to green salad.

This might be a little "woo-woo" for some people, but when nothing else worked I tried foot massage/reflexology and reiki treatments and it worked WONDERS. I went as often as I could afford (used the money I wasn't putting out for co-pays and shots) and it was like I got brand new feet. I went from barely able to stand…

I don't know about the weight issue, because some people who can't process milk gain weight but other people have other reactions - pain, wheezing, cramps, all kinds of different reactions. But here's my 2 cents in general (coming from a mom with 1 kid that is severly allergic to all dairy and one that is -depending on the…

When I had to get weighed at the doctor's office and my stepdtr's little one asked "Is that still 3 numbers?" As a previous poster said - if you need a reality check, ask a first grader.

You might want to give any one of the Leslie Sansone walking videos a try - she does a mile at a time.

Soda. Mayo. Hotdogs. Bologna, salami, and the rest of the edible food-like substances called lunchmeats. Flavored potato or tortilla chips. Cream cheese, and therefore cheesecake. Most cheese in general. Poptarts or other packaged pastries. Most store brand cookies. (but the stuff I do like, well that's why I need to lose…

You might want to look into counseling - you sound like you are suffering from depression. 1200 calories a day seems very low for your weight. I'm your height and my starting weight is less and my calories are 1660 a day.

I've just started reading teen fiction at the insistance of my young family members. And rather than being the painful experience that I was expecting, I'm finding that most of the books she recommends for me are really pretty good. I enjoyed Hunger Games and Mockingjay (Catching Fire not so much), but I really loved…

. Here's what helped me get through it: Water, water, and more water. It helps flush the toxins. Celery. Cucumbers. Really, anything alkiline will help. Lemon water. Add apple cider vinegar to your water. GOOD LUCK!
