  • I'd bite my tongue off on that one! The nerve or some people. I think you look great. I could come up with some cruel replies but seriously, what if you were sick? My ex husband had gastric bypass and due to complications he dropped from 6'4" 400 lbs to 190 lbs. HE looked sickly but there was nothing he could do about it,…
  • Why did you track mud into the house and spit watermelon seeds all over her floors?
  • Mine is 19 now, I think he caught on about the time he started college. Sorry, you'll just have to keep reminding him a little longer. It could also be when he starts thinking about someone special he wants to be interested in him.
  • I hope so, that would just be wrong.
  • I'm a 40 year old grandmother and I still like dirt and mud too. It's not gender specific or age limited. If you're lucky he might stay cleaned up for special occasions.
  • I'm in the same boat. I'm 5'8" and I weighed in at 162.4 this morning. I really noticed my hunger this week. I'm set for 1500 calories and usually eat my exercise calories (I usually exercise just so I can have a glass or two of wine or a chocolate cupcake at night). I dropped 2.6# this week so I guess I did pretty good.…
  • I get up an hour early and walk with my dogs - 3 miles in 45 - 53 mintues (3.5 - 4 mph) with part of that being about 1 mile down hill and part being 1 mile up hill (no way to avoid it since we live at the top of the darn hill). Also, if the weather is decent I will take a 30 minute walk during my hour long lunch break.…
  • As a young adult I became a single mother of three, I'm not creative in the least and needed a job with steady daytime hours and regular pay. I'm a bookkeeper in an accounting office. Still slowly working at my Accounting degree but I've been doing the work for years now with a great boss who works with me to explain…
  • You look fantastic for a mother of three. WTH, can't I simply look fantastic.
  • We have two cats and two dogs. One of the cats is so bonded with the dogs she thinks she IS a dog. She runs to the front of the house to see who is at the door, rolls on her back for a belly rub, eats and drinks from their dishes etc. We have always had cats because my grandfather used to bring us home strays (he brought…
  • Well you don't technically NEED to exercise, calories in vs calories out. I do hope you take care of your foot and stay positive. You need to take care of yourself for the long run. When I couldn't exercise I found that I was okay with eating just my budget for the day, I didn't find myself to be hungry. I've always…
  • Give yourself some credit too. It is not just a phone app and website but your own commitment and determination. I work in an office where nearly everybody is overweight. Several belong to Weight Watchers, several others did the Atkins Diet followed by some weight gain then another fad diet followed by some weight gain,…
  • I walk 3 - 5 miles most days to earn my wine. My husband prefers wine spritzers (1/2 white wine to 1/2 diet ginger ale or sprite zero) Makes those calories stretch out. I WAS a little upset to realize my favorite wine glass holds 15 ounces which is equal to 3 servings so 315 calories per glass.
  • If it helps, I'm 5'8" and my goal weight is 155...which was my approximate weight in my profile photo. I carry more weight in my thighs and hips and about none in my chest. I'm going to assume that if you're busty you'd need more weight or you'd look like a Barbie Doll Wannabe.
  • No candy but we did our Halloween tradition of sitting on the porch with beer, chips & salsa giving out candy to the kids and nips to the adults. We also had our traditional Chinese food. Logged it all. Went way over....next time I'm leaving out the Chinese.
  • My husband is also a wounded warrior although not an amputee. He's had surgeries on both knees, both shoulders, both wrists and they're looking into problems with both hips now too. We are just outside of Boston and he is involved with the Wounded Warriors Project and the Home Base Program which helps Wounded Warriors find…
  • Whoot whoot! Nice going. I love shrinking into clothes instead of expanding out of them.
  • ^^^ I do this. ^^^ Also I try to walk more leading up to my TOM. It helps with cramps to get plenty of water, exercise and a balanced diet. Get your calcium in too and don't sweat the temporary water weight too much.
  • We had sweet potato chips the other day. Not the same as those nice & salty potato chips but not a bad substitute. I also count out a serving and put them on a napkin and put the bag away so I don't just blindly eat the entire thing.
  • Sending request...but I must say the Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin Spice Muffin is NOT worth the 550 calories but that's just MHO. A glass of wine or an ice cold Corona Light definately fit into my daily regimen as does the occassional chocolate chip brownie bite or mini pumpkin muffins I make at home. I can get by without ice…
  • Congratulations on your weight loss, now lose a quick 225 of ugliness and misery and tell him to take a hike. Why would someone who loves you and sees you working hard to lose weight and take better care of yourself tell you that you're fat? Does he not know that you are working at it? Is he purposely trying to be hurtful…
  • I don't think it matters whether you eat a meal within the first couple hours of waking up as long as you're making good nutritional choices with what you do eat throughout the day. I wake up and take my dogs on a 3 mile walk. I think that gets my metabolism going just as well as eating breakfast would. My daughter doesn't…
  • THIS. Plus, there is a reason the first time around with the old flame didn't work out.
  • Every morning I have a light multigrain english muffin with a single large egg. I've cooked the eggs on Sunday night and just pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds and throw it on the english muffin....but since I do this at home I find it just as easy to drop an egg in the frying pan while I wait for the toaster. I don't…
  • I would agree that it is probably water retention from the sodium in the restaurant food. I much prefer to cook at home and make lower sodium alternatives to traditional recipes. An MFP friend once pointed out how high my sodium intake was. I was more careful after that and the first week dropped 5.8 pounds. I'm sure most…
  • Not food, WINE. I love my wine. I can walk away from chocolate and other sweets, potatoes and starchy foods but I sure do love my wine. MFP opened my eyes to how many calories were in each glass (and how many ounces). Now I make wine spritzers with 5 oz of wine and 5 oz of diet Sprite or Sierra Mist. 10 oz of wine a night…
  • I used to joke with a friend at church about her weight loss. At first it was all encouragement about how fabulous she was looking, then when she got really trim I'd joke with her and our Pastor about the pastor holding her down while I beat her with chocolate cake. Now looking back I suppose that was insensitive and I…
  • While I agree with the heart rate monitor, the ones here locally were $70, a little pricey for me right now. I check MFP's calculations against WebMD's calorie burn calculator and go halfway between the two if there is a difference. WebMD also asks your sex, age and weight if I recall. With your weight, you'd burn a lot…
