Lots of good advice above!!! I too have the 30 Day Shred. I also have her "Ripped in 30" and the "No more trouble Zones" (which just about kills me). I have found that I get bored doing the same workouts over and over so varying between her workouts and the YMCA, along with some other DVDs. When I get bored with one…

Everywhere we look, beauty is defined by being slender; magazines, t.v., billboards etc. I have two daughters who struggle with also trying to be what society claims as beautiful. I got up to 185 at one point years ago after my 3 children and had a husband who cheated because he said "she was slender". Well, I lost the…

Wonderful advice from someone with similar issues as you have!!!!

I have to say I am very proud of you for attempting this with the spinal cord injury that you had. Good for you! Did your dr say that he feels it will be okay? I would definitely listen to your own body since you have specific issues that not all other people have. I have had open heart surgery and have a mechanical aortic…

My daughter just loaned me Ripped in 30 and I have done it for 3 days and my legs are killing me so I know it is doing something, lol. Years ago, I had lost a lot of weight doing Denise Austin's old VHS workouts so I know that the home workouts are great if I stick to them.

Wow, incredible!!! I weighed about 175 after having my first daughter and down to about 136 to 140 now, but my problem is that people comment saying "you are losing too much weight in your face and neck". Of course my boobs are affected too. I still want to lose more weight but don't want people telling me I look too…

I personally think both are good for the body. I am trying to include more weights than previously, however, I did recently read about how the heart is a muscle and needs a workout just like every other muscle in the body. I found that interesting. The article went into the importance of getting the heart muscle to a good…

Oh my gosh, you have done incredible!!! Gorgeous girl!!! You have so much to be proud of and I don't know you but so excited for you!!!! :drinker: Cheers!!!!

I would feel the same as above. I saw where you posted some other things he has said to females. Ugh You have to do what you feel best but I would advise to be very cautious. I already know from a previous relationship that it is no fun to have to be cautious and guard one's heart because we really want to be able to trust…

Wow!!!! Very impressive!! You look great!!

I have noticed under my arms is not near as tone as I would like. I know the exercises that help tone that area and guess I just need to do more of them, unless I had the resources for brachioplasty (which is not happening).

I would get them in a heartbeat if I could, but can't due to medical reasons

^^^^I am scrolling down and see this and died laughing here at work. Too funny. I just shave every morning in the shower and haven't had a problem but just can't afford all of the other stuff.

You mention that you two discuss your thesis. He may be feeling the same way and worried about his mind wandering as you discuss your thesis.

These replies have been great to read as I suffer very badly from this. I take Dicyclomine for it, but doesn't seem to help much. The gastro dr who has done my scopes has said that I would need to eat baby food to make everything work right. After two stomach surgeries where they take the intestines completely out of the…

I do think you are on the right track. I do have to ask, have you had a good checkup before beginning your working out? The reason being, when you suffer, or have suffered, an eating disorder it can have many effects on the body and you want to make sure all is okay. We get patients in the clinic who have suffered from an…

And remember...when we suffer from eating disorders our minds are the greatest obstacle we have to beat...unfortunately. My heart goes out to you as I have been there. :flowerforyou:

^^^This!!! Great advice!

Good for you on wanting to overcome an eating disorder and take a different route. Please don't let the negative/hurtful comments you MAY get on here turn you away as there are some who can be cruel, maybe with good intentions but still..... Just keep plugging away, logging EVERYTHING you eat, even when you might be…

I have an elliptical at home and love it. Like you, when I first started, it was hard. I set mine for a 20 minute fitness session and it takes it up in incline and resistence, varying the workout on its own. If you can only do 5 minutes on it right now, that is fine. I was the same way but just kept adding a bit at a time.…

I am thinking a lot of those half-naked people on the "People of Wal-Mart" site think they are hot and I don't. I think leaving a bit to the imagination is a good thing

Wow!!! That is awesome! Congrats to you :flowerforyou:

Just had two slices this morning after hearing this on the news. They were telling everyone to "pig out now while you can", lol

I love Avocado also. Many years ago I went to France and the host family I stayed with would take Avocado, cut it in half, take the seed out and put an olive oil mix in the hole and eat it that way. I am not sure what she mixed with the olive oil but it was delicious. I was amazed that the obesity level in France was so…
