A 22 year old male eating 500 calories a day with only 12 kg to lose? AND exercising?? Yes, your calorie intake is way too low! How much does MFP tell you to eat? Because I bet its closer to 2,000 cals after exercise.
-
Yes. Yes you are

But... my elliptical already doubles as a clothes hanger! Maybe a power rack that folds out of the wall, kinda like a Murphy bed?
-
Eat the left overs, a few pieces at a time! Then raid my kid's baskets for more  And there had better be some Cadbury's Cream Eggs in there, or I'm going to the store!
-
Sounds like you are on the right track then. Keep up the good work!

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here for a moment, so please excuse me. I don't mean this in a negative way. I don't know you or your sister, or how well you have overcome your eating disorder, so take what I say with a huge pinch of salt... ...but is it possible that she - knowing you had a disorder - is afraid you…

If you hand me a beer, I AM going to drink it. While I chose not to purchase macro brews for myself, if that is all that is at a party, I will drink it. While the style may not be my preferred style, Bud et al are very good at turning out a consistent product (aimed, apparently, at a large segment of the market with no…

Eat more. Why are you having low calories options like slim fast bars when you are trying to get more calories in? Have a real lunch! Don't have the "lite" salad dressing either. Your snacks are also low cal. Try having something more calorie dense - something with protein and fat, rather than fat-free crackers. Eat nuts,…

Pick one: 1. You did something wrong, and entered a crazy number somewhere. Start again, and be more careful. 2. No, you really do need to eat 10,000 calories per day. Which one seems most likely?

Well, that heart medicine is the only case I know where such a result was found. And that was a medicine. A dietary supplement is likely to be much more general than a specialized medicine. So I will grant you that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Except for the ones where they HAVE looked and found them not…
-
Not contradicting myself. There is a heart medication (not a supplement, I know) that was tested in a cross section of the population and found to have no benefit to the majority of people. In fact, looking at the raw data, it was a bust. However, a closer look at the data indicated that it did in fact work for a subset -…

It's called marriage. Not as good as it sounds, believe me.
-
Oh there could be a certain genetic background etc that means a certain supplement only works in a certain ethnic lineage, for example. How do we find that out though? And my point is - if you don't have a study showing it, how can you possibly make a claim that a product you are trying to sell to the public actually…
-
Um - if you are making a health claim like most supplements make, then it should be possible to prove it in a clinic (not a lab) with double blind trials. If you are making a health claim that can't be tested in any way, then you have absolutely no place making that claim in the first place!
-
Kind of a general statement, isn't it, that "Supplements benefit you internally"? Are you saying all supplements benefit all people all the time in all possible ways??? I'd be looking for proof in clinical trials. And if the supplements did work as advertised, then yes, you would expect to see their claims verified.…

A few have some evidence suggesting they may be worth it: most do not. The higher up the chart, the more evidence there is to suggest it works. The lower; the less evidence. Note - the evidence is for the listed condition only - not for general effectiveness. Bubble size represents Google hits (i.e. a measure of…

My ex-wife and my girlfriend both think I am Leonard. But I got Howard in the quiz. I love the show, and I'm a PhD biochemist. I guess Sheldon would say that doesn't count though: not a real scientist. Btw - they are doing the same thing now to "Under the Dome" that they did to "Lost". Instead of just having a set story…

You'll be eating real food again soon enough, so don't sweat having a bit of sugar now. Eat whatever tastes good, and is soft! If you can stay under your calorie goal, great. If not, it'll only be for a few days. I remember (vaguely) having mine out about 10 years ago. It hurts, but as long as you don't get dry sockets,…

BCAA's = Branched chain amino acids. A subset of "essential" amino acids, as we can't make them ourselves - we have to get them from food. Animal protein has plenty of them, but vegetarians need to eat protein from a variety of sources to make sure they get enough. I'm not convinced they'd do anything for DOMS, but if you…

Your weight loss is not a car that needs jump starting! Why not skip the scam, and just do the good eating habits bit?

DOMS - Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/features/sore-muscles-dont-stop-exercising It's due to using your muscles in ways they are not used to. As you get used to the exercises, the soreness will stop. Just keep at it, and it will get better!
-
Cool. I want some muscle, so I'm going to try that! Screw eating at a surplus and lifting heavy things. All I need is a sex change, some soap, and about 15 years...
-
I'm looking around, and I don't see any skinny elephants here either

Um, that's four: fat, protein, ice cream and BEER! @ The OP: Cutting out carbs like bread and pasta is a great way to cut calories. I don't know why anyone would do it by choice though! There really is no other health benefit to it. I'm pre-diabetic, and I still eat some bread rice and pasta.

I think so: http://www.latimes.com/opinion/opinion-la/la-ol-jenny-mccarthy-abc-view-vaccines-20130909,0,5025477.story And don't forget the Body Count: http://www.jennymccarthybodycount.com/Anti-Vaccine_Body_Count/Home.html

Right. Those are potential side effects for a specific treatment for a specific disease (rheumatoid arthritis) with a new type of therapy. Basically, you are trying to stop your own immune system from attacking yourself (which can lead to RA), so yes, it's not a surprise that there may be some side effects on the immune…

Flu vaccines are developed each year based on the viruses that are circulating primarily in China in aquatic birds and pigs. This is why we call them "avian" or "swine" flus. The WHO monitor pig farms and bird markets around the world to see what strains are most prevelant, and also which of those strains have the most…

Maybe he should shoot for 0! There are people who claim to be able to live off only air!

I guess sushi could be vegan, if you just have veggie rolls, but there ain't no way crab is vegan. Maybe this is a picture of the OP:

Looks like you are averaging about 2400 per day for the past two weeks. So, assuming you are logging everything and everything is accurate, you should be in a deficit. Of course, assumptions are often wrong, and so the question arises are you REALLY logging everything, and are all the database entries etc correct? Or is…
