Hi Heidi, I also lost and regained. I lost over 100 pounds and gained most of it back. It was depressing and I felt so stupid. I kept making excuses to myself and throwing up my hands and thinking so what, I suck, I am a failure, I can't get anything right. I am now at the lowest weight I've been for 25 years and I think I…

Interesting post, thanks!

Another Boomer here. I'm on everyday and interested in healthy eating to feel better and lose weight. :flowerforyou: Success to us all!

For me, it's important. I've set my macros so that I can be sure I get enough fiber, protein and keep my sodium under control. Those are the main macros I pay the most attention to. I feel that it's not just the calorie count, but the nutritional value of those calories. Not everyone feels the same way, but I don't think…

Thanks so much for this great info! I don't run, but it will be great for the elliptical. Thanks again! :flowerforyou:

I'm really proud of you! It's this attitude, along with self-awareness of the root issues, that are going to help you change and move away from binge eating. Well done!

Here is one that I have made several times and I love it! I add chopped sauteed mushrooms in it too. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/03/petite-turkey-meatloaves-45-pts.html

I've really learned a lot and want to thank folks who have opened their diaries and/or shared experiences and recipes in the forums. - Greek yogurt - Skinnytaste.com - Cauliflower pizza - Northern Bean and sausage soup - Coconut flour - Baking with bananas and applesauce - Adding oats & veg to burgers - Fiber Gourmet pasta…

What's working for me is that I have totally changed my lifestyle. I avoid processed food and pay attention to getting enough (higher than MFP default) protein, fiber, water and keeping my salt down. I walk at least 1/2 hour per day and try to do some elliptical, ARC trainer and just started some resistance machines at the…

I've been adding a tablespoon of Polaner All Fruit With Fiber to plain greek yogurt along with some fresh fruit. It's delicious.

I've made this recipe from skinnytaste.com a few times and it's very good. I've been adding more broccoli than stated which further reduces the calories. I also use Fiber Gourmet pasta and that bumps up the fiber and reduces the calories as well. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/09/skinny-baked-broccoli-macaroni-and.html

Great attitude, it's never too soon to start again! Continued success!

Always hilarious. Especially when someone lets one and acts like nothing happened. LOL. Yeah, I'm 55 and still not over the hilarity. Just thinking about them now makes me laugh.

I just got the FT4 and started using it last week. I noticed that the heart rate matches my home elliptical and the gym ARC trainer to within 1 beat, however, the calorie burn is significantly less that what is on the machine or what MFP would allocate to me. As for my walking at 3mph walking the dog, the calorie burn…

It's working for me. I try to avoid processed foods and I cook a lot, even though it's mostly just for myself. I have not been to a fast food place since August and I really don't miss it. I eat a lot more fish and fresh fruits and veg; I don't waste time, money or calories on junk. I gave up diet soda. I pay close…

Great job, you look a lot different! Keep it up!

I definitely do, it really helps me stay on track with my macros, not just calories. I usually pre-plan a day ahead based on what I feel like having. It also helps me control cravings, because if I really want something I can plan it into my diary and I am more mindful of the nutritional and caloric content of my food. I…

Fresh, warm, homemade bread... with melted fresh butter. Muenster and swiss cheese. Kettle cooked barbeque potato chips. Jelly Belly jellybeans: cherry, watermelon and chocolate flavors. Homemade chocolate chip cookies with walnuts and raisins... made with fresh butter. Maybe someday I will be able to control myself, but…

I weigh myself every day, but only log my weight on MFP on my official weigh in day, which is Friday morning. I haven't had a weigh in gain yet, but if I ever do, I will log it. Whatever the scale says is what gets logged on Friday morning.

Actually, fresh eggs are harder to peel. If you have very fresh eggs (I do because I have my own hens) you need to wait a week at least before you hard boil them. Most supermarket eggs are older than this already. Also, overcooking hard boiled eggs gives you a rubbery white and darkened (sometimes greenish) yolk. Easy to…

I really don't like it much either. I got started going on walks. Just out the front door and walk. I thrive on routines, so I walk every morning and I've gradually increased the time, distance and speed, and now I've increased the intervals and usually go twice or more. It helps to have a pup who motivates me to get out…

Sounds interesting, thanks for sharing.

Another vote for nothing, just the naked truth.

Berries, pears, apples, legumes. Fiber Gourmet pasta is pretty impressive: 18g of fiber per serving and just 130 calories, it's great in place of regular spaghetti. Also Fiber Gourmet makes crackers that are 70 calories per serving and have 10g-12g of fiber depending on the flavor.
