  • I love this one too!
  • I have trouble with my upper thighs too (don't you hate those girls whose thighs don't touch?), and I've found that while I've never eliminated them completely as a trouble zone, lengthening exercises like those in pIlates, dance and yoga help even out the area with the rest of my leg!
  • If you're committing fully to p90x, I wouldn't add on too many more goals as it's a very intense program in itself. You may get overwhelmed (I was last year, trying to do yoga and p90x) and slowly stop doing each workout. However, if you're interested in mixing it up/trying lots of different things, why not do p90x on the…
  • Btw, I'm feeling much better, vertigo has subsided and I spoke with my doctor, who's not worried! Thanks everyone!
  • You're beautiful and you deserve better. Their loss, not yours. Keep on moving forward and one day it will be all behind you.
  • Don't worry, won't drive a car (already cancelled all my appointments today before posting). I'm drinking lots of fluids and calling the doctor. Thanks for all the advice and concern, this site is great!
  • If it keeps happening, I'm definitely going to the doctor. I don't take any medication, and this is the first time it's happened, on or off a diet. Thanks.
  • Think of how good it will feel when you see those lbs drop! When I'm craving greasy food, I cook a lower-fat option for myself. I love looking up recipes, it burns cals and you don't feel guilty. Either that, or go to the diner and order a kid's meal, half portion, or find something new and healthy that you might actually…
  • I go through phases...itching to get back to the gym right now after a DVD binge...love everything I do and feel like it's important to switch it up!
  • I actually like using full-fat homemade salad dressings because you get some good healthy fats and they're flavorful so you don't have to use as much. I also like pouring a little balsamic vinegar with just a dash of olive oil overtop. Here's an easy recipe that I love: 1 part oil (typically olive, but flaxseed, corn,…
  • For me, I feel deprived when a meal consists of only 200-300 cals lol! I think that as long as your calorie count remains consistent, you're going to lose weight...regardless of when you eat them. However, I find that a 200-300 calorie breakfast and lunch (spaced out by around 2-3 hours), a 100-200 calorie snack (about 2…
  • love alternating between light beers (90-110 cals) and a shot of whiskey (45 cals). Whiskey on the rocks also does the trick, because you sip it a LOT slower. Red wine is nice to sip on too (120-140 cals/glass).
  • Great tips...esp. this one...some how when I give myself options that always helps.
  • If you like salads, they provide a great opportunity to get some great protein and fat. Just add lots of different things to keep things interesting, and try making your own dressings (higher in real, good for you fat and more delicious). I love salmon and tuna on greens with nuts, goat cheese, and dried fruit. Then I add…
  • Def once a week (of course, I'm terrible about even that) while you're losing, because weight can fluctuate so much day-to-day. Once I reach my goal (and overcome my fear of the scale) I want to weigh myself a little more often, maybe 3-4 times a week, just to make sure I'm staying on track.
  • If you're really concerned, butter (at least some of it, I won't eliminate butter either haha) would be the best thing to give up, but given that you're eating an extremely balanced diet and nursing, I don't think you need to worry about going over. Sounds like you're mostly getting the fat from heart-healthy sources like…
  • You look incredible! Congrats and Merry Christmas!
  • That's a HUGE moment. Dance class mirrors can be scary, lol...but you have nothing to worry about and everything to celebrate. 90 lbs lost...you're an inspiration. Treat yourself to some cute new leos in bright colors!
  • You are an inspiration! You look amazing, happy and satisfied...congrats and enjoy the holiday season!
  • I never plan for them because I find, for me, that I end up overindulging a little too often (as in, "oh I'll go over 200 cals but it won't count as my cheat meal", or "I can have 1,000 cals in fried foods because it's my cheat meal"). Instead, I just cut myself a little slack every so often when I want an extra drink or…
  • Between the supermodel sister-in-law and the marathon-running, sub 120lb sister...yep, I feel like the fatty even though I'm within a normal weight range. The important thing is to focus on how far you've come, and enjoy the fact that you don't take life too seriously and can treat yourself to a cookie.
  • I thought that I would have a problem keeping this calorie goal, but for the most part I've been okay with it, especially if I plan ahead and use my calories on food I really enjoy (well, healthy food I really enjoy that is!). This may sound terrible, but I enjoy my wine...a little too much, so sometimes I find myself not…
  • I'm 5"4 and currently probably around 137 (haven't weighed myself in weeks...hate doing it). I've always been towards the high end of a normal BMI, ranging from around 135-145, and I've never received any complaints. I'm very, very proud of my curves and they are heavily appreciated by a guy who, during our first makeout…
  • I get cold feet all the time! A hot shower actually does wonders, but when that's not possible, tea and other hot drinks seem to help, and I also make sure that I keep warm, insulated socks on from the time I get up to the time I get into bed. Hope some of this helps!
  • I have a hard time cutting back as well. I did realize when I joined MFP how MANY calories I was consuming in alcohol alone, not to mention the calories in bar food. I've switched to only a couple of drinks here and there and a glass of wine at the end of the day. I feel better, I'm sleeping better, and I've seen a…
  • You look amazing....and so happy too!
  • They do this with girl's sizes all the time...clothes companies make the sizes a little bigger than standard measurements to make us feel better. If I think I'm a size 2=I'll buy the clothes!
  • You've worked so hard and are already seeing results...you probably are an 11/12 and deserve it! I totally understand where you're coming from about trying clothes on. I've been on MFP for a few weeks now and still haven't done my first weigh-in because I'm too scared to weigh myself. What if I haven't lost anything? What…
  • Great job! I've tried some of the workouts on the DVD and find it easy to follow and fun...and I was sore! Good for you on completing the whole program and congrats on your new, toner self!
