Awesome, added! I figure it's gonna be a long and windy road, but better to start now rather than later :D

Oh the epic quest for abs! One day, one day I hope to see ANYTHING that closely resembles a flat stomach, much less one with definition. Added :) Done and done, welcome aboard the geeky sunny train! haha Truer words were never spoken. I've learned on this journey so far that a) weight loss is NOT a straight line and b) you…

I'll throw a request your way, plateaus can be a pain in the butt but I'm sure you can do it :D
-
I absolutely will! I agree, it makes it easier to be surrounded with other active like-minded people. Easy way to stay inspired and encouraged :) Preach! Haha I've played at and played with the idea of losing weight for... nearly my entire life. And you're right you CAN do it, more than that, you WILL do it. It's awesome…
-
Wow, serious kudos on your success so far! What helped you the most in your journey? I'll totes add you :)
-
Awww, thanks I will! I figured it doesn't matter how many times you fall, as long as you get up again. Nothing good ever really comes out of tearing ourselves down, just gives more excuses to stay stagnant, you know? Girl, you crazy? You're already gorgeous! I'd agree though, I'm done with yo-yo'ing and want to make this a…

I agree, backsliding happens and it's not the end of the world but I figured this time round I'd try to put my best foot forward and increase my odds of sustainability hehe How are you liking the Body Shred? I have a few (untouched) Jillian DVD's, but I'm afraid to try them. She scares me >.> Awesome, adding you as well!…

Grats on what you've lost so far! I'll be doing the same when I get closer to goal, actually seeing how things look and feel. I've been a big gal all my life, so I have NO clue how I'll look, it'll be as much a surprise to me as everyone else LOL
-
Fully agreed, it's kinda easy to take for granted when you're doing it on your own. But being surrounded by people who have the same mindset is so so nice :) Haha it's getting serious now! 50lbs is an awesome goal to have, no worries on being taller. Active supportive people is all that counts in my book! It can take a…

Shorties ftw! I figure it doesn't matter how many times we have to start over, the biggest step is being willing to start over :) Lovely, this has turned out to be such a good place to connect with people who are in the same boat! A looong time ago I'd managed to drop a handful of dress sizes, but I've gained that back and…

Heck yes! Games, movies, TV shows (American Horror Story <3), doesn't really matter what it is I can't get enough. So few people to nerd out with cause they won't watch horror movies with me LOL
-
Nice, another shorty hehe Added ;)
-
Awesome I'll add you, the more support the better imo :) HW stands for highest weight (ever, which was also my starting point nearly 3 years ago). Also there's GW (goal weight, which can mean end goal OR short-term goal ie. 10lbs less) and UGW (indicates your end goal).
-
Done! I hear you on a year full of crazy, have some big things coming up for myself too o.o
-
Always nice to have some people who are in the same boat, added!
-
Haha, thanks! I live/lurk in the Success forums, it's the best way I've found to rekindle that fire. Adding you :D
-
It's awesome to see so many geeks on here! I'm a big gaming geek (PC, consoles & portables) and have been getting back into Pokémon for some old school nostalgia haha Also love comic books, novels, anything zombie (Walking Dead ftw!) and firmly believe that light sabres make EVERYTHING better.

The version I've been hearing and STILL hear to this day is "You have such a pretty face, if only..." Yup, there's always that "if" tacked on at the end. As if the ellipses and awkward silence is any less insulting than just saying "If only you were thinner" lol Getting ready to start over for the 100th time, have about…

I completely sympathise with the 'every pound shows', as a shortie I have the same problem. Just add 40lbs to your current weight and you can imagine how I looked at my highest >.> Not healthy, scary unhealthy looking. You are really lucky to have a boyfriend that loves you the way you are now, time for you to play catch…

Anyone can feel free to add me as well, it's nice to have more people who are in the same boat :) Height: 5'4" HW: 225lb CW: 200lb GW: 130lb

Okay took a quick look at your profile, and a couple quick calcs on http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ to find your average TDEE (used the first 2 formulas and just averaged them) Approx BMR (how many cals your body needs to just function): 1539 Approx TDEE (how many cals you burn in a day - set at light weekly activity):…

Yup you are definitely not alone in self-sabotage/stalling. It's a cycle that I've had to address myself recently as well. A lot of what's been shared/suggested applies to me, as well as a general fear of the unknown. I've been overweight as long as I can remember, even if only by 10 or 20 lbs. Realizing that I'm starting…

Yup, I was really surprised to realize that my 8.5-9 shoes were too big to wear! Down to a solid 8 now, really never thought my -feet- would get smaller, it makes sense but it's kinda funny what you discover on this journey XD
-
I agree with the posters above and also wanted to add don't be afraid to increase your daily calories if you're feeling too hungry/lacking energy/endurance etc. As long as you are eating below your TDEE you will lose weight; it affects the rate of weight loss, not whether you will or not if you're consistent :)
-
Are you eating 1400 cal net or total? Are you logging exercise, if so are you using an HRM or the defaults on MFP? They are usually overestimated because it really varies based on height/weight/fitness level. If you open up your diary to the public that could also help to give an informed opinion.
-
I only tend to weigh myself once a week or once every 2 weeks depending. Mostly because I forget, although tbh after being obsessed with it, it's much better this way ;) Feel free to add me!

Will you have access to a small cooler or some kind of insulated lunch box type carrier? Some quick and easy options off the cuff would be: Veggie sticks & hummus Apples/celery & peanut butter Cheese & crackers Home made trail mix (Mixing your own raw nuts/seeds + unsweetened dried fruit or dark chocolate etc) Popcorn…

You've been given a lot of sound advice, so I just wanted to throw in a "Yay, go you!" sentiment XD Figuring out what doesn't work for you and being open to try something that might is a great step to take. I had the same struggle for in the beginning, listening to diet/low-calorie obsessed chatter at work. It didn't take…

Haha it's nice to meet a fellow staller ;) Losing focus is definitely part of my problem, the second half is freaking out at seeing the numbers drop. As someone who's been a big girl her whole life, seeing numbers I haven't seen in years give me a mental pretzel. Then I get over it... and rinse and repeat LOL
-
That is all awesome advice, and as I'm in the processing of getting back on the wagon, I am taking notes so I can figure that out for myself hehe
