I've heard you shouldn't eat before bed because your body stays awake to digest the food and you don't sleep well. I work nights and I regularly eat dinner at 8 p.m. and go to bed about 2:30 a.m. Sometimes I snack before I go to bed, sometimes I don't. It depends on what my body is telling me. It probably isn't great to go…

I'm 27 and don't live in Devon. Welcome to MFP.
-
Ooo, that is a very pretty train.
-
Welcome to the site, Jourdan. I think MFP is wonderful, and I hope it helps you, too. I could always use some encouragement, so I'm going to send you a friend request. Let's cheer each other on!

Wowee! You look fantastic, MsBanana. Absolutely wonderful.

Hi, Aditi, and welcome to the site. I hope it helps you achieve your goals. Good luck to you!

Hi, Chris, welcome to the site! Add me as a friend if you like.

I lift twice a week and do cardio twice a week. I hope to add another workout a week, but that's all I can manage right now. I'm like you, Stacey; I have to switch things up. I get bored doing the same thing for too long.

Welcome to the site, Elena. I hope you find it useful -- I know I do. I'm sending you a friend request, and we can help out each other. And I'm always on the lookout for recipes, healthy or not.

My power would be to plant really annoying songs in people's heads. Not sure what my name would be though.

I eat some of them back. Exercise depresses my desire to eat, so I have a hard time eating those extra 400 or so calories back.

My ticker says 90 but hey, I could go up to 100. Sending a friend request your way.

I say listen to what your body tells you. If you're 500 calories under, feel fine and are not hungry, don't bother eating just to make up numbers.

This site is great. I love the support most of all; I had a really hard time trying to lose weight alone. Good luck with your goals!

If your parents don't know what a healthy diet is, they might be concerned you're not getting enough nourishment. If their idea of a meal is 1 pound of pasta and yours is less, all they see is you underreating, not them overeating. The only way to get them to change their mind-set is through education. If they aren't…

That's awesome, Starblaze. Congratulations on losing so much already. I'm sure MFP can help you lose until you're done. Good luck!

Nicotine is a carcinogen. I'd rather struggle with losing weight than struggle against that.

I'm a sugar addict, too. What works for me is to suck on a piece of salty licorice. I hate the way it tastes when I bite into it, but if I suck it, it's divine. It lasts a while, too, and generally is enough to quell my sugar cravings. I got mine at the grocery store (Kroger if it means anything to you). One piece is 18…

Do you eat a lot of processed foods? Those will really raise your sodium levels.
-
Yeah, I did a double take when my food diary told me my banana had as much sugar in it as my half-slice of chocolate pound cake. I'm consistently over my sugar limit, but as long as it's from fruit and milk and other healthful sources, I figure you're OK.

I heard the areas where the body packs fat on are the areas that shed weight first. Is this not true?

Let's support each other! I'm sending a friend request your way.

That sounds good, like an instant, low-cal peach cobbler.

I'm reading "A Long Way Down," by Nick Hornby. It's about four strangers who coincidentally show up in the same place at the same time to commit suicide and what happens next. I'm loving it so far.

Welcome to MFP, Beth. You have come to the right place to find support. I am sending a friend request your way. This site has really helped me manage my calories and really look at my diet. Everyone is very helpful and encouraging. We'll help you the best we can.

I did my first weigh-in today, when I got my period, but I don't think I'll do it again. I'd rather not weigh myself when I'm puffed up like a balloon, especially on day one of my period. I also don't work out on day one of my period. I'm too cramped and nauseous, and I think it's best to keep the irritable, hormonal,…

Oh, man, I love those. Our grocery store stopped selling them and I was disappointed.

I love it! Well done. You look super!

You love fantastic! Congratulations your super progress. And I like your boots, too.
