If you're watching them back to back, you probably won't need to warm-up again. But just in case, what are the videos (or rather, what are the types of workouts in the videos)? Maybe two warm-ups would be necessary if the workouts are vastly different?

I've never cried, but I sometimes squeeze out a tear or two on the last rep of my heaviest working set of bench press. Great job for you though! Great effort!

I have worked out with my spouse in the past. And still do on occasion. However, we have different fitness goals, so the opportunities are a lot less. But it was an enjoyable experience for us. Seeing each other progress, helping each other with a spot, and keeping each other accountable, were all benefits of working out…

According to this article, it looks like it's not serious: http://www.livestrong.com/article/421103-my-elbow-pops-when-i-do-push-ups/ You may want to mention it to a doctor during your next check-up, just so that it can be noted into your records for reference' sake. Unrelated: I see you are from Brownstown. I know a…

I don't have any evidence or science behind what I'm about to say, but I'll give you my opinion and reasoning. I think you should stick with lightly active and log your exercise. I think it'll be a more accurate level of your fitness because there are so many variables involved with logging non-exercise activities…

If you need some suggestions on some stretching or post-workout back recovery, I just gave some advice in the other thread, so I'll copy and paste it here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1039844-hurt-back-muscle-help ... Maybe it'll be of some help?

My advice would be to workout. With no disrespect to your mom or trainer, they aren't qualified to dispense workout advice. Neither would a dentist in this situation. I think they're being overly-cautious in case of an accident or mishap, which is noble, but is irrelevant to whether you can work out or not. Only you will…

It's really just going to take a lot of time. Your skin is an organ, and once the body realizes that it doesn't need to dedicate resources to it, it'll start to shrink up. If it's a lot of loose skin, then surgery is the only option of which I'm aware. Here's a link to a podcast and article that I listen to on occasion…

It'll take some days of rest, and when you get back to working out, you'll probably want to go at about 1/2 intensity and gradually increase it over the course of a couple-few weeks. In the meanwhile, I find that doing some stretches in the shower with a hot spray on the back seems to help loosen the muscle a bit. A…

Congrats! I hope you find weight training to be fun and beneficial for you. For someone who's new, no matter what you do, as long as you are careful with form and really pushing yourself, then you'll see initial success. But, I would suggest trying to find a program and incorporating that into your fitness routine. Because…

Before you drop her, I would encourage you to talk to her about it. It's possible that she's got valid reasons for not sending you the email like she said. And as far as this goes... ...as long as you're not interrupting her or trying to get her attention if she's with a client or talking to another trainer or gym staff,…

I'm 5'2" and weigh 128 lbs. and have a visible 4-pack. 12% bodyfat. Are you sure you need to lose more weight? If so, then you really need to consider incorporating strength training into your fitness program. I normally don't push strength training on to people, but I can't think of any other option that's safe and…

Pool activity burns more calories than the same activity outside of a pool, but unless you're doing actual exercises, it's not going to be a substantial difference. There are tons of youtube videos on water exercises. I would suggest doing those if you want a high (ish) caloric burn. And if you're not wrinkled like a prune…

Here's my bench press PR attempt (185lbs.): https://vimeo.com/69705860 My own analysis is that I have a bit of elbow flare and my feet aren't planted. I think I can correct the first pretty easily, but I'm not sure how I can do the second (without hitting a growth spurt, and that's not likely to happen). Here's my squat PR…

Someone noticed that I'm not bringing the bar close enough, which was something I thought I'd corrected. That might explain why I'm also bent over a bit (I was putting all the blame on my hips).

Thanks for the feedback. I actually went for 350 and got it up about 80%. Will test again in 8 weeks.

Have you tried Inverted Rows (with a supinated grip)? Here's a link to a video/pictures: http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/detail/view/name/inverted-row There's also a version of this where you're not horizontal but rather, you're standing at an angle, which may be a bit easier to start (it's my warm-up to regular pull…

Did you try searching for Colorado in the groups directory? You might be able to find a few, and then post there about running groups? Here's one: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/170-colorado-colorado-springs-denver-area ... There might be a few more depending on the keywords you use. Good luck!

What is your current fitness program? Are you currently doing any strength-training/resistance-training?

I don't walk with hand weights, but I would probably log it as walking. You maybe getting a slightly more caloric burn, but I don't think it'd be worth taking into account. Not to say that it's worthless, because over time it'll likely add up. But for each session, I'd just log it as walking. I admire your thinking and…

There are four ab muscles (six total) and they are worked in a different way. What ab exercises are you doing? Any particular ones more difficult? Here are some of the more common exercises for each muscle. Transversus Abdominis - Front Planks (when doing these, suck in your belly and hold for as long as the plank), You…

When you are trying to lose weight, what is the process? What are you doing to try and lose weight? In terms of both nutrition and fitness? What diet strategies are you using, and what's the frequency/intensity of your activity level? When you are trying to lose weight are you doing radically different things (change in…

Here are my most listened to workout songs: Time To Pretend - MGMT A Real Hero - College & Electric Youth Party Hard - Andrew WK Lights Out - Santigold Winter Beats - I Break Horses (kind of a softer song, but has a great, consistent tempo) Stronger - Kelly Clarkson Die Young - Ke$ha I Gotta Feeling - Blackeyed Peas

From my understanding, an HRM isn't as reliable with interval type training than it is with steady-state (and even then, it's debatable). When I was in "lose bodyfat mode" and trying to eat at a slight calorie deficit, I usually split the difference between the treadmill info and the HRM info. I didn't look at it as so…

It's my favorite exercise. I'm still trying to perfect the form (I'm a little late with my hips) but there's nothing like pulling a crap load of weight off the Earth to make you feel strong. Very cool! I'll probably watch this a few times right before I go for my deadlift PR on Tuesday.

I dropped 30 pounds by not exercising. However, I lost a bit of muscle along with the bodyfat. I basically did a gradually reduced caloric deficit from 2500 calories to 1900 calories over the course of 3-4 months. Every week, I'd reduce 50-100 calories. And I had one day out of every 7 to 10 that was a cheat day where I…

I can't read your diary since your profile is only viewable by friends, but here are some suggestions. 1) Add some cardio into your fitness program. This could be some 15-20 minute HIIT cardio for AFTER your lifting sessions. Or 30-45 minute steady-state cardio on days separate from your lifting days. 2) Incorporate…

If you're referring to picking an activity level so for various online calculators for calorie budgets and what not, I would start with light and see how that goes. Over time, I've actually had to adjust it from light to heavy (even though I work at a desk all day). There may come a time where you'll build enough lean…

A big first step. It's nice that you have a boyfriend who's a committed gym goer, as it can be a lot easier when you have someone to do things like this with you. Good luck! Both to your new fitness lifestyle and to quitting smoking!

How many days/hours are you able to work out at the local gym? Regarding your routine now, I think anyone that's new to strength training will do well almost with anything they do initially. But you may find faster progress towards your bodyfat loss goals by implementing someworkouts that are based around compound…
