Checking back in after a looooong absense. Decided to take summer off because I wanted a break. It was tough managing the logging and exercise when the kidlett was home. Turned out not to be the best strategy. Incurred some collateral damage from it (up 15 lbs.). :/ Thankful the damage wasn't quite as bad as I thought it…

The scale was kind to me this morning. Lost 1.6 lbs. Funny thing happened this week. I had my physical, which was uneventful due to my normal blood tests, and I had planned to take a few days off of 5:2 to take a break and celebrate my normal physical. But my will resisted! I knew I had been struggling to get back on the…

I am with you on that (maybe not the FMD part, yet ;)). 5:2 is the first WOE I have found that gives me some breathing room when it comes to eating. It is still restrictive but allows for some wiggle room and I like that.

Just checking in. Had the first fast day yesterday. Regular days today and tomorrow. Go in for my physical tomorrow morning. @KateNkognito Yikes! Salmonella. The must have been a barf-fest. :# Hope you are feeling much better very soon. @sjgold123 - I know what you mean. Dannon is a great example of that. They promote it…

@Leeg5656 - Welcome! The cool thing about 5:2 is the only real rule is the 5:2. :D 5 regular days, 2 light days. No other rules. Having said that, I find for me, focusing on protein and veggies makes for a easier fast day. I LOVE breakfast. Could eat it three times a day. So, needless to say, I do eat breakfast. I split my…

@mamainthekitchen - I was looking at my podcast app and realized I am subscribed to Serial. Duh! :D I just haven't listened to any of the episodes yet. I think that podcast has a connection to This American Life?

Weighed in a little higher this morning, .4 lbs. Not surprised after my tumble off the wagon this week. Grateful it wasn't a whole lot more! The good news is that my lipid panel and my A1C (diabetes) both came back normal!!! Last year my triglyceride was elevated and my A1C said I was pre-diabetic. I am SUPER thankful. I…

@mamainthekitchen - Yes, I have heard about Serial but have not listened yet. I will have to check it out. @sjgold123 - loved your post. I can see how you are working this all out in your head. Would love to hear about your sugar discoveries. Definitely my weakness.

Hi all! Been a busy week and had a major 5:2 spill on Tuesday. I just could NOT stop eating. Not sure what was going on. Probably a combo of being stressed out and applying for a job I really want. Not overeating would be easy if it wasn't for all the stuff going on in my head. :# Hoping all the extra calories won't be too…

That is so honest @orlcam. Our words do locate us. Change our words, change our lives. Out of the heart the mouth speaks. Wishing @Meghan509 a wonderful vacation, although I expect she is already offline. B) @mamainthekitchen - a lot of articles say the full fat dairy is better for weight loss. It always seems that when…

@meghan509 - So excited for you. No matter what you weigh, you can feel marvelous because of all you have accomplished over the year. @rikkejohnsenrij - Sounds like you are doing well. I love the flexibility that comes with 5:2. @orlcam - Love the new spring pic. Such joy in that photo. Thx for putting it up. The board has…

@Meghan509 - Celebrating with you!!! What a great wy to go into you vacation. Enjoy the day!

Me too! Light day. Keeping busy so the day goes by fast. No pun intended.
-
@ryenday Loved your post! Especially liked the no two days in a row. I can do that and I think it can help break that downward spiral of a craving. Although I will have to broaden it beyond specific items. I know myself well enough to know I could binge on cake one day and cookies the next and not consider it two days in a…

@KateNkognito - Have you been to a doctor, sweetie? I am thinking this is a lot of self-diagnosis going on here that can lead to unnecessary despair. A visit to the doctor can clear up a lot and give you sound advise on losing weight.

Light day for me too. First of the week. Been a busy day so it is flying by. Looking forward to breakfast in the morning! @Meghan509 Hope your week of 5:2 goes well. @ryenday - Congrats on your first year! The longer you are successful the greater the chance you will remain successful. You inspire me.

I continue to move in the wrong direction. Up .2 lbs this week. I think I am getting a little lax on the weekends. I always end up in this place of getting bored with my weight loss journey and wander into more food, which was the reason I started this journey in the first place. :/ Had a great weekend. Got together with…

Whoa! Thought I would make it back sooner! Our day at the game was wonderful. The weather was nice and the LA Dodgers won! They have gotten off to a rough start. Hoping they are getting back on track. Having a good week so far. Been wanting to eat more than I need but so far since the weekend I have, thankfully, resisted.…

Well, today is the day I pay the piper for my Spring Break break. :s. Up 3.6 lbs, after already going back to 5:2 for a week. I guess this is my new start point for weight loss this for this next 5:2 segment. Glad I don't have to start where I was last August  Hope to be back to 145 by my annual physical…

Hi all! Second fast day today. Last one of the week. Woohoo! Been having some craving attacks this week. Just praying and pushing it through. Keep telling myself that more food is not going to solve the problem of cravings. Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I did have an awesome birthday. So glad to be 30 lbs lighter…
-
@ryenday - Yes, in the perfect MFP world that is what would happen but unfortunately the site is not that flexible. :/
-
@IdLikeToLoseItLoseIt - I think a lot of us just do the 500 calories and don't close the diary that day to avoid the scolding. :s
-
Hi everyone. Had an awesome birthday yesterday. Went to the beach. Great family time! @ryenday Loved your pic! Wondering if there might be a flock of birds outside your door? :) Hope you are back to eating without seeing within a few hours what you ate in the toilet. :# @orlcam "vegan hipster amuse bouches"??? Have you…

Very few rules with 5:2. Basically eat at a normal calorie level 5 days a week, eat 500-600 calories 2 days a week. The rest is up to you. My own personal rule it to eat food that are nutrionally rich so that I am well fueled. So whether you use this service or not is totally up to you. And welcome to 5:2 @joflo723!
-
@ryenday - So sorry to hear of the misadventure you had with food. I think only thing in life worse than food poisoning is the flu. :# Hope you are feeling better. And I too am proud of you for taking good care of yourself. You will be better a your job for it. And besides, you saved someone from possibly being barfed on.…

Just checking in. Glad to see all of the posts! Love this group. Enjoying Spring Break. Went to see Coco today with my son. Loved the movie! The art work is beautiful and the story is lovely. @ryenday - Really admire your resilience. In spite of the stressors of life you just keep going. @mamainthekitchen - Glad you…

Hello all! Did my weigh-in today and down .8 lbs. Slow and steady does it. In regards to erythritol, I was reading my Allrecipes magazine today and saw Pyure advertised. It is a granulated combination of stevia and erythritol. They say you can bake with it. Forgive me if you all knew about this already. I know @orlcam said…

Welcome back @andreada98507! Glad you will be rejoining us. Feel free to post whatever questions you would like. We have moved to using a weekly thread to keep in touch with each other but feel free to start new discussions if you like that better. Either way will work. Regarding the calorie counter, AFAIK, it still…

Just wanted to let you all know MFP has had a data breach. Good idea to change your password.
-
OK, I know I posted something yesterday. Who everr does the website and the app for MFP should be replaced. So many of my posts get eaten. Really, MFP needs to find a new WOE besides my posts. Well, my cold came back as bronchitis. :s Had a mild fever yesterday. Feeling better today. Spring break is next week. I…
