  • @ryenday - so I was right! ;) Seems crazy to me. I just don't think I have the patience and stamina for HIIT. Now I feel old. :/ @sjgold123 - I hope one day MFP will upgrade the app and the website to retain what one has wrote. All of us have experienced what you have experienced. What a pain!
  • Did my fast day yesterday as our plans are to take our son to see the movie Wonder and then do dinner tonight. If you haven't seen Wonder I highly recommend it. A great movie about family and friend dynamics. Our son is going away to Winter Camp this weekend and while it will be nice to have some alone time with DH, I will…
  • Hi All! Did my first fast day yesterday. Love when that day is over because it means only one fast day left for the week! :D @Meghan509 - Your vacation sounds dreamy! How exciting to have a trip to the Caribbean to inspire your health goals! @mamainthekitchen - So glad you are hanging with us during all that you are going…
  • @KateNkognito - Go for it! We got your back.
  • Hi Everyone! Happy Friday!!! Hope you all have something on the calendar in the R&R nature for this weekend. We have our baseball league opening ceremonies. Should be a fun time! Down .6 today. Slowly inching toward my goal of 145. Within spittin' distance now. @Meghan509 - Glad your light day went well yesterday.…
  • A lot of difficult things happening on the board today. :( @KateNkognito - That is a rough one. Reality can bite sometimes. It can also spur us on to greater things. I know you can become the person you dream of becoming, one step at a time. From what I have known of you, you are smart and strong. Hang in there, do the…
  • @sjgold123 - Congrats on your weight loss! A 1 lb. loss is good. My experience with 5:2 has been not so much large weight loss but consistent weight loss. I prefer the second because nothing discourages me more than a scale stuck on the same number for a month or two! Interesting what you said about protein and alcohol.…
  • @sjgold123 - Yes, you could increase your cals if you want. I think it all depends on how things are working for you now. My personal opinion is if I am constantly feeling deprived I won't be able to maintain it long term. But on the other hand the point is to lose weight., right? ;) I know you will figure it out for…
  • @sjgold123 - Thanks for sharing your story with us. Such a great thing to come to the end of ourselves and realize we need a new path because the current path is killing us. It is a true change of heart. Should serve you well as you transition into maintaining your weight. By the way, you may already know this -…
  • @Marmitegeoff - Thank you for kicking us off this week with some encouragement. Glad to see you are getting back on the horse, or in this case the bike. ;) Please do keep us posted so we can cheer you on. Go Geoff!
  • @Meghan509 Great idea! You could be a chef. With my tablet, if I am posting and accidentally rotate the tablet, the orientation will change, my post goes poof and the MFP app will go back to the main Community page. MADDENING!!! I see that as an MFP app bug. :#
  • Officially made it into the 140s yesterday. Don't know when the last time was I saw the scale begin with "14". <3 @Meghan509 - LOVED your post to @ryenday! We all need that kind of pep talk. Weight loss is hard work! One big difference between food addiction and most other addictions is that you just can't quit it. We all…
  • Hi All! Just checking in.Doing my second day of my Monday/Thursday fasts. Been really busy lately but I am happy to report I have been able to maintain 5:2. Love this program! So glad to see others joining us - @sjgold123 @cdurston50523 @whatiwont You all keep us going. @Meghan509 - we are definitely football fans. Our…
  • As promised, a picture of our Chloe Girl. <3 <3 <3
  • An ocassional lower day is no big deal. However, think the reason why there is two days at 500 and the rest "normal" days is so that you metabolism doesn't slow down because it thinks you are starving to death. Also if you cut your weekly calories are too low it could catch up wit you and you could get too hungry. The…
  • Dang! Foiled by the Samsung Emoji Thief! Here is the rest of my post: ;) @sjgold123 - Time to treat yourself to a belt for your trousers?
  • Hi All! Was able to make it to the gym today and do my HIIT on the treadmill. Felt good to get back on the horse, so to speak. Pretty crowded for a Wednesday morning. Made me think of @Meghan509 and the new year's crowds. We have them here in LA too Meg.
  • I am back, I think. :# Last week my husband and I went away to celebrate our anniversary. Wonderful time of R'nR. Over the weekend we adopted our first dog. Miniature Schnauzer, three years old, very sweet. Will post a pic later. So now we are tied to the house until we know she is house broken. Missed my strength training…
  • @sjgold123 - Welcome! We are glad you have joined us. Feel free to post any questions you may have.
  • Down 2lbs this week. One pound away from the pre-Christmas level. Things should get back to normal this week or next. @Meghan509 Congrats on your loss. Looks like you are getting back to normal yourself! Did you make the Stuffed Pepper Soup? Did you like it! @ryenday - Woohoo! You made it through FMD. You rock! That was…
  • @cdurston50523 I think @meghan509's post was spot on. I would add to lean towards nutritious food especially protein and veggies. They will keep you fuller without messing with your blood sugar and leave you feeling great the next day. I encourage you to experiment to find out what works best for you. As time goes on, the…
  • @mamainthekitchen - While the chips were not part of the plan, it looks like you found a good strategy for yourself on you light days! Good news for your future light days. @cdurston50523 - Wishing you well today. You are stronger than you know. You got this!
  • @cdurston50523 - Does your mom know that you are trying to change the way you eat? If not, you may want to sit down with her and explain what you are doing and why it is important to you. It would be great to have her on your team if possible.
  • Light day for me today. My DS is back in school. Went to my strength training class today really wishing I could be home on the couch eating my favorite Christmas treats. I am ignoring those voices in my head knowing if I ignore them long enough they will go away. Looking forward to getting in my first full week of…
  • @meghan509 - Well since we all have problems in life, PJs three sizes too big is a good one. So much better than three sizes too small. @KateNkognito - Want don't we just say 20lbs by your birthday is a BIG win! And if you do more than that then you are crushing it, girl!
  • @ryenday While it is frustrating to wait, it is wonderful that your husband cares enough about you to want to make sure this is healthy for you. Do you you think your doctor might consult with you and your husband for free by phone or email? At the very least you can present your findings to your husband and he might…
  • Weighed in today. I suspected I would be up when I took my measurements and all were a half inch greater than before the holidays. I was up 2.6 lbs. (1.18 kg). I was glad it wasn't more with all of the holiday goodies I consumed. Back on track this week. Did TDEE Tues and Wed. Fast on Thursday. Plan to be on the…
  • Forgot and used one of my Samsung emojis which made MFP lose it. :s Here is the rest of my post. @Meghan509 YES! Let's do this. I think you can make your goal by your birthday. We will have a big virtual celebration then! How about your guy? How is he doing? I have heard the storm is a big one. How nice you can work from…
  • @m0nster2 Welcome (back?) to the group. I would echo what everyone else has been saying. There is lots of support here including all the recipes @Meghan509 mentioned. I would add to just take things one day at a time. It can get overwhelming to think of doing this for awhile. Also as your body adjusts and you create some…
  • Hi my 5:2 peeps! Hope you all had a great holiday break. Ours involved a lot of great food. I am back and ready to kick some more blubber butt. Who's with me? Let's make 2018 the year we reach our goal weight!!! I started back on 5:2 this past Tuesday. I will do my first fast day tomorrow (Thursday). I am a bit…
