Love to all. Glo, I do a work out in my hot tub since I have severe arthritis. There is only one of my exercises that you would not do in a regular pool- where I do pull ups using the folded over cover to pull up on. I do 100, but of course am not pulling up my entire weight due to the buoyancy of the water. Then I do 100s…

Mia, so good to have you back!

Beth, happy birthday! Re, the photo is of me. A reminder to not believe everything I am told. At the time the photo was taken, I was 12. My pediatrician told me that I was "overweight" and my dad called me fat (it was abuse). I am built like a peasant- BIG bones and muscles- so I weighed more than normal for my height. And…

This is for Becca!
-
Janet, you are beautiful before and after, but so much healthier after!
-
I agree with Peach. Larisa, you look great!

I am headed for my hot tub in a minute. The girls and I just finished cleaning up the downtown pocket park for the celebrations. Both the children's parade and the regular parade start right by it, so I like to have it looking nice. Deadheaded, weeded, and tidied it all up! Now I hurt all over.

I am glad Jake made it out of surgery! KJ, my thoughts are with you. ((hugs)) Marclyn- great photo! love to all

Barbie, thinking about you and Jake with the surgery. All who are hurting, thinking of you too. Anamika, good to see you back!

KJ, a lot of the homes in Oklahoma and Texas do not have basements but are built on a slab. This is because the clay ground is very hard to dig. I found when I lived down there that a lot of people assume the attitude "it won't happen to me" and don't worry about the lack of appropriate shelter. Some chose to have a…

Heather, I am afraid that a lot of the poor, and even the not so poor, are being duped here in the USA as well. So much of the population does not do its research but accepts the media's sound bites and slogans. And showing them facts and figures doesn't seem to help educate them. It is very frustrating and scary. I was…

I am still fighting this cough from the cold I have had for two weeks. Back to working out as of yesterday. PT yesterday was tough. Taking my girls swimming and I get to take the grandkids too! AND they get to spend the night with us! Yippee!!!!! I cannot believe that we have heat indexes in the 100s in Iowa in June. In…

Lenora, you must be mistaken. By law, anyone receiving SSI (Supplemental Security Income) cannot work and has never been able to work. So that can not be where your husband's money is coming from. You also cannot own more than $2000 in assets, including vehicles. Under SSDI (Social Security Disability INSURANCE, your…

What I am dealing with this week: For all the people who think that it is easy living on Social Security Insurance, or Supplemental Security Income (SSDI or SSI), let me tell you all about it. My son has been disabled since childhood. He gets SSI, which is for people who have no work history, or a very limited work…

Margaret, I love the fairy garden!

Michele, when working with thorny plants, use your kitchen tongs to hold them, rather than your hand. Even with a leather glove you can get poked, but with the tongs, your hands never get near the thongs. Or use the barbecue tongs. I am still not feeling very well, so lurking. Cold went in to bronchitis and can't get in to…

Karen in Virginia, that is my take on the situation as well. Gluten free here, due to celiac disease. I feel so much better that I do not crave things with gluten. Very rarely I will buy a UDI product like bread or double chocolate muffins to keep myself from feeling deprived, but they are very overpriced. I would…

Still feeling awful but wanted to respond to Lisa's post. It has been proven that our perceptions are totally influenced by our expectations and our focus. People remember things that reinforce their beliefs, but don't remember things that challenge their beliefs. (This is why stigma against others continues.) People also…

Anne from Wisconsin. I am with you. I have family members that are gay, including (probably) my eight year old grandson. It breaks my heart that people hate! My mother's cousin was gay, had a long term "friend" but they could never show affection in public or live together way back then. I hope things are improving for the…

Still sick. Feverish today. Sore throat and hacking cough. Ugh, I hate summer colds. Love to all!
-
Margaret, I overdosed myself on water when working in the park I weed and care for. Had to lie down under a bush. Got a gatorade and felt better.

Dawn, the disability of autism is usually located in the environment, not the person. Most of the time, if our society was more accepting of people who are different, there would be no disability! Their brains work differently, but also work very well.

I have been lurking, not feeling good with a summer cold. But there are two things I want to say. Please be VERY careful about drinking TOO MUCH WATER! You can actually kill yourself with too much water. It puts all of your electrolytes out of balance. You start to feel weak, confused, and then can die. Drink water if you…

Mary, good to see you back! And Shep remains adorable!

I took my girls and my dog, plus two I am dogsitting today, for an hour long walk. I think I earned many more calories than MFP gives me credit for since the dog I had the lead of is a ferocious puller! I feel like my arm has been wrenched out of the socket! The entire walk was with my feet planted, leaning back, so the…

Barbie, I had no idea lavender did so well in NW Washington! It is a Mediterranean plant, and they say it needs good drainage, so I thought it preferred not being watered much! I guess it likes LOTS of water, but good drainage so it doesn't sit in it. My plants are no where as lovely as yours, not gentle mounds but…

Janet you look adorable!!! Lisa, feel better soon! I slept over 12 hours last night- was just exhausted last night from a busy Friday, Saturday and Sunday with my girls, grandkids, and the kitty. Love to all. I read everything everyone writes! You are all such wonderful ladies!

Unfortunately the little guy had a seizure and passed away while I was holding him. At least he is out of pain. My oldest daughter, 11, is heartbroken, even though I had warned her it was a strong possibility. I am crushed. And headed for a cat nap.

Ignore my comments about what a healthy newborn kitten should weigh. I am not making much sense due to fatigue.
