I hope it's done soon @sufferlandrian I can't even imagine. Night shift again. And apparently my requests for not having such a short turnaround after doubles goes ignored once again. So now I need to get my guts together and approach my boss. A coworker has agreed to switch although she requested it off. This week my…

At first I did really well by myself, a few years ago. It was really easy to just focus on whatever I needed (or wanted) to do. Then I enjoyed a vacation away with the boyfriend and just sort of... tuned out. Then my sister moved home and I loved having her home and we would go out to eat together, etc. Now, a couple years…

I have days where I eat over my normal and I'm fine with it, once in a while. Usually it's out with friends or a special occasion. It's not weekly. I don't schedule it that way. It's sushi Sunday or dessert night or whatever.

I usually call myself a nerd. I'm occasionally a gamer. Really miss tabletop gaming like dungeons and dragons. Always liked the look of world of darkness, but never played really. Reading, too. I'm a psychology major, so I nerd out with that too.

1. Name, Age, Marital Status, Children, Where do you live? Jennifer, 27, not married, but in a long term, but currently long distance relationship, no kids, in Connecticut 2. This has also happened to me. It was there this morning. I tried to find the group, searching the site, since it's possible I hit the "leave group" on my phone or something, but it doesn't seem to be there?

@sufferlandrian It's worse in that some days, some of these people have truly poor hygiene. As in one claims it's because she can't see, but her poop will end up on the floor. And then there's the incontinence factor. Oi. So. My night shift is over until next week. Now it's day shift time to confuse my body.

Oh dear. I guess I didn't want to be freaky, but maybe I fit right in. Of course I just finished sanitizing the toilet, something I can't help doing when I remember how many people work or live here. So maybe I just don't want to talk about it.

@FrankieFelinius I know what you mean. Though it seems if you live with your face you notice the most. I have one eye where the lid closes more. And one nostril that's more flared, but that's tmi.

Ah. Threats here are medical or psychiatric emergencies. Though one annoying night I had some teen fool lurking around the company vehicles. He skunk away upon meeting my eyes through the glass.
-
Ah. Background check and the usual for us since I work with people. Vulnerable population. Mostly night shift needs to be alert to any crisis that may come up. I also do rehab activities.

@lilaclovebird I'm sorry I missed this. I work for a non profit. Not the state. So paid less, worse benefits, but we need to meet their DPH etc standards. When I was hired I had my first interview three to four weeks before I started which wasn't bad. At the time they were down two counselors. It's just too many channels…

I love my co-workers, but work hates that we're friends. I'm okay with my job responsibilities. It's mostly pay, administration and schedule for me.
-
I'm jealous of the good pay. Time to go mooch off my geo.
-
I'm glad I have a job, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to find something better. Eh. I think the whole problem comes down from the admin, leaving us minimally filled position wise. Short version of the story is they noticed we managed to function without an assistant director so they never refilled that. Down one…

@paul199madrid I actually rotate, too. Though most don't normally do overnights. Weekend overnights are mine. Monday and Friday are typically my off days. @lilaclovebird This isn't overtime. Or an accident in scheduling. I've worked overtime, but this is my boss being lazy when she does the schedule. It's easier to have…

I suppose so. Or at least make sure I put it in writing every month so that when it's ignored I have something to squeak about. @MadDogManor Glad you're getting on your way. My boyfriend of six years lives in Toronto. I need to work on immigration, but I am getting impatient to live together again.

@jennifer_417 This is a double for me. 16 hours in all, then I return 12 a.m. Sunday. That should be illegal. I'd like some guarantee that if I get hit like that, and my boss does schedule it that way for no other reason than I'm the least squeaky wheel since we're almost fully staffed now, that I get two days in a row…

Eat protein and fiber and eat slowly. Reading while eating a salad or yogurt plus cereal helps me slow down and feel full so I stop.

12 hours left to this shift...

I also work every shift known to my job. I get really hungry by six a.m. so I pack cereal and fruit. I also snack on chocolate covered espresso. Not so good. Also, I drink a ton of water. I eat when awake or hungry the next day. Usually right after working out and small bursts at a time. No sitting and snacking, though,…

Yes. Sometimes I do things because I know I'll wish I had done it yesterday when tomorrow rolls around. I say no to things I don't want in my diet when offered because it's never as enjoyable as it can be made to sound and if I really wanted it I would have gone out and gotten it myself and planned it into my day. Someone…

Pasta.Particularly homemade macaroni and cheese. Especially sharp American plus pepperjack cheese. Doughnuts when my sister made them. Chocolate. I'll still eat all of those things, but not all the time. I don't put sugar in my coffee and haven't in years. I can't drink it with sugar now. Small wonders. People used to ask…

I work during normal ish hours during the week, but the overnight on the weekend. It makes me tired. I saw someone above say at least six hours. I usually go downstairs around noon and stay there until seven. Sometimes this includes constantly redirecting my thoughts away from other things I could be doing. I still miss…

I'm 5'0" and I started around 150 lbs. I'm now just under 130 lbs. My goal is 115 lbs or so. Weight loss is slower. I've not hit a plateau, but some weeks I only lose a half pound. I'm part of some challenge groups which I find helpful.
-
Respect? I'm not going there. Hi. I work at a group home overnight. Night shift weekends. Other shifts other times. Never the same schedule. Various tasks need to get done and of course I'm here in case of a crisis.
-
Ooh this gets me excited for the same reason. I should be starting maintaining around this time.
-
Mine is public. I'm a 5'0" female eating 1200 calories and trying to lose at least 16-20 lbs more.
-
I would love to try this. I always forget to record water. This should bring me to three pounds from my goal. Maybe even help me stay focused when I'm dead tired after an overnight shift. Like now.

This may sound weird, but I started up again because I noticed I couldn't keep up with the dog at all. We have an extremely active dog and she competes in canine sports, which means her handlers come along for the ride. Also, I'm doing it because I currently feel large next to my boyfriend, because he's a foot taller than…
