  • I think that I may have figured out how to more personals. I hope this works. @melifornia the morning routine sounds amazing, but I'm not sure how I'd work it in with caring for a 2 year old and getting a first grader off to school every day. @robinsegg so glad you are feeling progress. Thanks for stopping by. @maram29…
  • We had a good day today. We attended the services for my cousin's wife. She was a really remarkable woman. She was a professional musician, so there was a lot of really beautiful music, much of it original, performed at the celebration of life. It was good to be with family, too. January was a mixed bag as far as meeting…
  • Thursday truth: I finally took the time to enter my own cookie recipe into the data base instead of using a random one I found already in the data base. The result was not pretty, but now I know that I will have to eat less cookies. I did make my goals today. I'm still just squeaking by on my water. I need to do better.…
  • Met my goals for today and walked over 5 miles in sunshine. My Wednesday wish is for peace and comfort for my cousin's family. A few weeks ago his wife broke her foot in a skiing accident. The surgery to repair her foot caused blood clots which moved to her brain and killed her. She was only 51 years old, and a very…
  • Met goals again today. Onward and downward. Kaye
  • @kah glad you are okay. @skinny it was nice to see nothing in your grading goals. Made my goals for today. Much better on the water. This afternoon was sunny and in the 40s, a perfect day for a walk. Onward and downward. Kaye
  • @drainqueen I eat exactly what I cook for my family, just use portion control and planning. Why couldn't you have a burrito if you really like them? One of the things on my 'will not do' list is to cook separate meals for myself.
  • Chicken breast is tricky in a crock pot because over cooking is what dries it out. Try cooking for shorter period of time, or just use the oven and cook it faster for a short period of time. I tend to steer away from the crock pot for chicken breast.
  • @jtconst My SIL is in Vancouver, WA. He loves playing in the mud with his Jeep. Made me smile. I love reading about all of the successes and struggles, especially all of the new ones who are struggling to get started. I would reiterate the advice that has already been given. Take it one step at a time and don't worry if…
  • Made my goals today, and got to take a real walk in the sunshine. I'm going to have to cut myself some slack tomorrow. We need to go to Costco to get new tires and I have a long grocery list. I don't hoard food but I keep a very well-stocked pantry so I don't have to go to the one grocery store in town very often except…
  • @Susan So glad to see you back. I know you'll back in with both feet soon. Made my goals today, logged everything, and even got to go for a real walk. Its a good day. Onward and downward. Kaye
  • @Skinnyjeans. I second your wish. I think of her every day.
  • Well, I didn't make my calorie goal today, but I logged it even though I knew I was going over. That is something that I haven't been doing for the last few weeks. Whoever said. "What you eat in private, you wear in public" was speaking to me. Tomorrow is another day. I will make it better! @Skinnyjeansbound way to go on…
  • Met all my goals for yesterday. Determined to make today a good day, too. Onward and downward. Kaye
  • @Lori 100# gone. WAY TO GO. That is still eluding me, but I'm not giving up. @‌L2T Thanks for giving me a good chuckle to start my day. I've been retired for over 10 years and still waiting for things to slow down. @Skinny Boredom definitely needs to be on the list of eaters. I think I would have to change social eating to…
  • @Rozie. So sorry for your loss. You will miss your mother so much. I'm proud of you for making this a stepping stone to a healthier life.
  • I am pleased and flattered to be mentioned among those who are helping to keep this thread going. I love all of you and am constantly motivated and inspired by you. @p1xyn1xy‌ welcome back. I have been wondering what happened to you. I am snowed under this weekend with son and his family visiting. I will have to give you…
  • I have been thinking a lot the last couple of days, and I think it's time for a Thursday truth. I feel like, even though I have been doing this for 2.5 years, my relationship with food hasn't really changed that much. For the last month my health and other circumstances have given me an excuse to be very sporadic about…
  • My sentiments exactly. You have held us together for years. We are here for you whenever you can drop by.
  • @RobinsEgg I am so sorry that you have been so ill. I have never read the blogs. How do I find you there? Wishing you all the best. Kaye
  • @Laurie thanks for sharing jnettie's news. The baby is beautiful. If you are in touch with her, please give her my best wishes.
  • @hansea47‌ I fell while walking outside about 10 days ago. I did a belly flop onto the road and bruised some ribs. The cough started about a week ago and is really making it hard for my ribs to heal. AFM (as for me). My ribs don't feel quite as bad as yesterday, but still really sore. The cough is not very frequent, but…
  • @MKKnits, just to clarify, I am a walker, not a runner. @klp555, hard and fast rules will only lead to discouragement and ultimately defeat and failure. You need a few good sensible guidelines that you can live with for the rest of your life. Just my two cents worth. Kaye
  • I think I did a little better on calories today. Fortunately, my cough is less frequent today, because ribs are hurting much worse. I'm really discouraged. I am registered to walk a 10k in about a month, but I won't be able to train. I posted on FB today to see any of Nicole's friends want to take my place. She is running…
  • Hugs to you. I hope they can find out what is going on very quickly!
  • So tired of not being able to get out and walk. When I don't feel well enough to do anything, my motivation to work on my other goals plummets. It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Here's to a better weekend. Onward and downward. Kaye
  • Joining Nikki with viral bronchitis. Dr said if it lasts more than 2 weeks, come back. He did give me a prescription for cough medicine so I hope I can get enough rest. Not looking forward to at least another week of this! Just want to echo, for the newbies, the advice that has already been given. Those of us who have lost…
  • Barbara, your post brought back memories. We are of the same generation. When it got -40 those who had to walk to campus could wear slacks, but they had to change at the first restroom they came to on campus. Did you wear brown long stockings with garters in grade school? Lori, I'm glad you had a better day. Klp555 I used…
  • Today was a hard day. I didn't sleep well last night because of cough and sore ribs. And for some reason, I have been hungry all day. All my snacking has taken its toll. I met my goals for today if I go by the 'less than 100 over' as we have typically said. I am so impressed with everyone's enthusiasm and dedication for…
  • I've kept up with all of you today. It sounds like everyone is staying strong. I'm on track for my goals, but feel like I'm catching a cold. The cough isn't helping my ribs. The kids have started to plan a party and open house for our 50th wedding anniversary in June. They have had some fun questions about our original…
