Good luck to you on your journey! :)

It all depends on which workouts you favor. My "home gym" consists of a yoga mat, hand weights, a small rubber ball, and exercise DVD's. I do have a gym membership, which I use primarily for cardio workouts (apartment living doesn't really lend itself to a treadmill!) My advice would be to figure out what your favorite…

I agree with all of this! When I first started MFP almost 3 years ago I was eating 1200 calories a day....and only lost weight for a few weeks before things stalled. Now I'm eating 1400-1500 and losing at a nice (slow) steady pace. If you aren't losing, my best guess would be that you are either over-estimating your…

It's hard to say without seeing your food diary. To help combat hunger I drink lots of water. Sometimes I'll drink a mug of hot green tea and that helps curb my need to snack. On nights where I absolutely crave a giant meal, I'll make a dish overflowing with veggies so I can "pig out" without the calorie consequences.
-
DEFINITELY don't do that! Estimating the calories won't give you an accurate picture. When I make a meal I put every single thing in, which can get a little tedious, but it gives me the best information.

It doesn't matter what you eat at dinner, as long as your calories for the day are at a deficit. Meat is great, you need that protein! Are you logging your food daily?
-
You're losing at a very good rate, why are you complaining?! Honestly, with so much weight to lose you could be eating more. I'm 5'4" and 145lbs and I can lose weight with 1400-1500 calories a day....more than that if I'm exercising. Are you using a food scale to measure out your food portions? How are you tracking your…

Drink lots of water and keep yourself busy! If snacking at night is something you really just can't get past, then make room in your daily calorie allowance for it. Really, you just need to keep yourself accountable. If your snack is chips, for example, then weigh out the amount of chips you can have and put the bag away.…

I totally understand. I'm at work 50-55 hours a week and it often feels like I barely have enough time to clean my apartment. With a busy schedule I find it helps a lot to cook in big batches and rely on the leftovers to feed me for the next day or two. What restaurant do you work at? Is it a chain that has their nutrition…

Welcome, Nikki! I'm also a Nikki with the same story....of course, it took me gaining 25lbs at my new job to take a step back and change things. -My first suggestion is to invest in a decent digital food scale, I got the one I use at Target for around $15. Make sure you weigh EVERYTHING, it seems tedious at first, but it…

I'm a small breakfast person too! My go-to (and very filling!) breakfast is a slice of toast (sara lee 45 calorie bread) with a smear of hummus on it, then topped with spinach sliced grape tomatoes and a fried egg. It usually comes in under 200 calories.
-
I usually try to reserve about 400 calories for dinner, on workout days I'll bump it up to 500. Pre-logging helps me a ton because I can plan everything out ahead of time and make adjustments where I need to, like cutting out certain snacks.

Honestly, "gaining muscle" is not something you can do in 3 weeks and it is not something that would affect your weight like that. Having done 30DS myself, I can tell you that it is not a muscle-building program, but it does burn calories well. My guess is that you are either over-estimating your burns, underestimating…

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you've only been at this since Monday, at least 4 1/2 of those pounds are water weight....so don't get discouraged if you experience a much slower rate of loss next week! As for eating out, pick healthier options and go easy on the naan (it's very calorie dense!). Eat slowly and…

Pinterest is my favorite place for recipes. The only way to learn how to cook, is by doing it. Start with easier recipes and you'll be surprised at how quickly you pick it up!

My boyfriend used to be the same way...pretty much couldn't even look at a vegetable! But with lots of cooking we've found ways that he likes them. I'd start with looking at some of the Skinny Taste recipes, they're often loaded with veggies but taste great....and they're pretty low-cal. As a previous commenter mentioned,…

I'm sure you could find them in a regular grocery store or even an Asian market.

I've never been able to detect any weird aftertaste from almond milk, although I haven't had regular milk in years. At the very least it is worth trying once :) I get my seaweed strips from Costco, they come in nice little packages of about 5 servings each.

I know you must be frustrated with the weight, however a quick loss won't be sustainable and won't teach you the habits you need to develop to keep it off. My mom has a similar body type and I've watched her try unsuccessfully for years to lose weight fast by any means necessary...it never stays off. If I were you I'd suck…

Freezing chocolate! Seriously, that is so smart, I'll have to try it! For my salty cravings I'll turn to a small portion of crackers or seasoned seaweed strips. I also get horrible spicy cravings so I'll have a small salad with hot sauce added to the dressing. If you like almond milk, Almond Breeze makes a dark chocolate…

Neither. I eat foods that I love and keep them within my calorie goals. Fat loss comes from eating a calorie deficit and muscles retention comes from using them.
-
Even if you were able to lose more than 2lbs a week, the rate of loss would slow down a ton after the first 20 or so pounds. Not to mention, to lose more than that you'd likely have to make some pretty awful unsustainable life changes. Is there a reason why you want to lose so rapidly?
-
What kinds of foods to you like?
-
Like everyone else said, if it is something you did while you gained, then it clearly isn't a good enough calorie burner to lose. Now, if you're doing squats and jumping jacks while cleaning, maybe that's different ;)
-
I think the best thing to do is to figure out what exactly you're craving in these foods. Is it the salt? Is it a particular chocolate or caramel? Once you've figured out what the craving is, you can more easily find "healthier" replacements. On a personal note, I am an absolute candy fiend....like it has to be a whole bag…

I have a couple of thoughts on this...first, HE CHOSE YOU. Unless he is pressuring you to lose weight, I think it is safe to say that your weight is a non-issue for him. He wants to do these things with you not because he wants to see you in shorts, but because he wants to share experiences with you. Second, if you're this…

It really depends on how your body distributes fat. Even with a 30 pound weight gain I still had roughly the same sized chest.
-
Sounds like you should just add music tracks to your phone. On a different note, I'd stop using Map My Run. I stopped using it after finding out it was overestimating my distance by up to a mile! Endomondo and Nike+ have worked out much better :)
-
IF, you are in fact logging every thing you eat, your diary tells me that you aren't eating nearly enough. How long have you been at this?
-
Simple, eat at a calorie deficit. What have you been doing to lose weight that hasn't been working?
