  • Scott, Rita was truly blessed to have a brother as loving as you. She went to her death loved by family and friends...while it may not be as long as life as she would have wanted, it seems like it certainly was a life well lived. I'm glad you are feeling the sunshine in your life again...you most definitely deserve it!…
  • Click on the food tab, then click on Recipe tab...enter your ingredients, number of servings, and you're good to go! It will save in your recipe box. Also, you can choose to add it to the MFP database, but I wouldn't do it...
  • I had that fear factor, too...I knew cardio wise I could go fast, but the fear of falling held me back. Now I can sprint at more than 10mph (for a short time, lol!). Here's one of my favorites: 0-5:00 jog at 5mp 5-6:00 sprint at 8mph 6-7:00 recover at 5mph repeat above sprint/recover two more times 11-11:45 sprint at 9mph…
  • Google HIIT workouts and you'll find a ton online. I've got a few favorites from places like Pinterest, Treadmill Shredmill, Fitsugar, etc...there are an insane amount of them out there. Have fun! I love HIIT workouts:)
  • The FT40 comes with a chest strap as well, and it's adjustable (I'm not sure how big it gets but I'm sure the specs are on their website somewhere). I've been really happy with mine!
  • ^^This... don't worry, one pound is tiny, and our weight fluctuates by a few pounds here and there. It doesn't mean you "gained a pound" at all. What do you want to know about 30DS? My husband and I started doing it a month ago...I only made it through four days (was incredibly bored with the repetition, and really…
  • I love it, too!! I didn't realize it was there until my brother showed me...I'd been using the app for six months and didn't even notice it, haha...Sharp; I know:)
  • Ugh...I'm SO sick of this weather!! My daughter is outside at track practice right now...I feel badly for her!
  • ^^This is exactly how I do it...Works every time. If you have a tough time peeling them, run them under cold water while you peel them. I've read you shouldn't boil the eggs for any amount of time as it makes the yolk tough and rubbery. Just shut the burner off as soon as you get a full boil.
  • I use a scrunchy thing (don't use ponytail holder...too tight) and pull it up in a pony on top of your head...No hump, and not uncomfortable either. Looks frightening, but that's for my husband to get over, haha!
  • Aside from the fact that I'm almost twice your age (45!), our stats are exactly the same. I keep my maintenance around 1550 (TDEE seems to be around 1700 on non-workout days). I go a little under that because I know sometimes calorie counting isn't accurate, especially when going out to eat. It seems to work for me and I…
  • It would definitely be better for your core on the ball since you have to use your abs and back to stabilize yourself. I would just try to keep your upper arms horizontal to the floor at their lowest point.
  • None yet, but I've got 8 boxes in the cupboard...five varieties to choose from...hmmm, what's it going to be tonight? I'm fitting them all into my daily calorie goal, so it's all good in moderation!
  • ^^This, Scott! You really should be published somewhere...I think you missed your calling; though I don't know what kind of law you pracitce, I bet if you are a litigator you're a damned fine one:) Good for you on outwitting the beast...again.
  • Wonderful NSV!!! You're doing great:)

  • I don't buy it either. I'm 45 so my max would be 175 and 90% would be 158...I'm consistantly in the 95% range when I do strenuous exercise. I've wondered the same thing, though...should I dial it back a bit? Am I going "too high?"
  • ^^This:)
  • My kids are both in private Catholic schools in suburban Detroit. My daughter's middle school is around $4,000 a year and my son's high school is around $11,000 a year. Kind of crazy, I know, especially given the fact that we live in one of the highest ranking public school districts in the state, but a faith based school…
  • I've been on maintenance for a month and I generally eat back about half of my exercise calories. I usually fluctuate about half a pound or so at my weigh ins, though I did have a weird 1.9 pound loss one week. My thought is that I know my calorie counting isn't entirely accurate, especially when eating food I haven't…
  • I didn't know there was a name for it, but I'm an emetophobe. Haven't thrown up since 1991, and that includes through pregnancies. One of my biggest fears about becoming a mom was having to clean up vomit. Thankfully my kids have always been great pukers and have almost always made it to a toilet, haha.
  • Good for you, Scott! Hurts so good, right? You continue to inspire me and countless others on this site...You're the best!
  • I've lost 22 and most people don't notice, or don't say anything if they do notice. I was not overweight to start with (just weighed more than I wanted to) so 22 is a lot to lose for me. It used to bug me, but I was never doing it for attention anyway, so now I just don't care. I get a lot of people telling me I need to…
  • Bobbi Brown BB cream here with her moisturizer underneath. I love it!
  • I think something might be coming together for us, though the plan was to go nowhere since my son has lacrosse during break. We used to hit the Florida beaches every year but all that ended with the advent of high school sports:( Still, I think we're going to carve out six or seven days on Hilton Head with good friends of…
  • I burn anywhere from 400-550 in my one hour workouts. If you do an intense interval or HIIT workout you can do it easily. Obviously the more you weigh, the higher the calorie burn, but I'm in the high 120s and burn that every day. It can be done:)
  • I've got both and use them in conjunction with one another. I wear the Fitbit 24/7 to track my calories and steps throughout the day. I use my HRM (Polar FT4) only while working out since my workouts are not always step-based and the HRM gives a more accurate calorie count. If you sync your Fitbit on MFP it won'd double…
  • I pawned that job off on my kids, thankfully! Bathrooms are my most hated, oh, and the wood floors, and oh yeah, changing the sheets. Top three right there:)
  • I can't believe I drive 25 minutes to get to my gym, but I do. It's two hours out of my day four times a week, but I love the workout. I quit the gym (which is a traditional gym, my place is a studio that offers one type of class) 10 minutes from my house. The miles on my car are racking up but I've never been in better…
  • Feel free to add me! I've never been a big fan of exercise but about a year ago I finally made it a habit. I've met my weight loss goal recently and am focusing on fitness and eating better (not there yet with the healthy eating, haha). I work out 5-6 days a week and would love other fitness-minded friends for support!
  • Me again, lol...I agree that it's not food poisoning. I've had both, and this dumping syndrome is different.
