  • My friend has been going to hot yoga classes and absolutely loves it! She has been trying to get me to go........the only reason I haven't is because I am worried about my asthma acting up and my work and school schedule is conflicting with the times she likes to go. I say try it! The worst that can happen is you don't…
  • My friend who is 6'1'' buys her jeans at Gap, but I have no idea how much she pays. I am only 5'7'', but have pretty long legs........I usually buy long length and have them hemmed just a bit because regular length are too short and long are a little too long, I get most of my pants at The Limited and White House Black…
  • That is awesome! It is so important to slow down if you feel an attack coming on. I would talk to your doctor asap about getting an inhaler. I am using the 250/50 Advair and will be moving down to the 100/50 Advair soon. I also take Singular. With these 2 meds, I am able to only have to use my Albuterol inhaler at the most…
  • Thank you for the great explanation!
  • The freakin Samoas are my favorite. I did so good this year and turned down every single person who asked if I wanted to buy any. And then today hit..........I had a major sweet tooth today at work and ran into someone who had extra samoas. Of course I didn't have any cash, so I had to write a check, but I didn't want to…
  • I also have asthma but rarely run outside so it doesn't bother me as much. When I do run outside and it is cold, I can feel the effects almost instantly. Gyms are hard too though. I am also severely allergic to mold, so there have been times at the gym that I just leave because I can't breath. I actually had an asthma…
  • I didn't really start looking at my calories until I was about 2 months into it so its hard to say. I can say that little by little I cut things out. For example, I went from drinking A LOT of cokes to only one 12oz. coke a day and then after about a month I changed to one coke every other day and so on. I lost almost 20…
  • I'm going to start the 6-week challenge for EA Active More starting tomorrow morning......................its gonna be tough waking up early, but at least I will get it over with early and I will have time to get other things done after work. I really need to work on a strength training workout instead of just cardio to…
  • It is hard to say, but I feel like I am addicted to cokes and chocolate. I get a crazy craving for chocolate at times and can't think about anything but chocolate until I satisfy my craving. So what I have done and what works for me is I buy the individually wrapped chocolates (usually truffles or ferero rocher) and have…
  • I fit into my old Express jeans from college just last week! Isn't it a great feeling? I haven't worn them in almost 10 years!
  • I'm not a huge fan of yogurt but have had to eat it in the past for the probiotics. I just do not like the "yogurt" taste................the one that I really like is the Yoplait Light Key Lime Pie. Its only 100 calories, very light, and doesn't have that overwhelming "yogurt" taste.
  • I also agree with the people on here that said its because women tend to be "jealous". A lot of the women that I work with who are older than me are the people that complement me. Most of the women who are my age tend to say nothing with the exception of one who works out at the same gym as me. Now that I think about it, I…
  • I totally feel the same way about foods that aren't so healthy, but the reason I think we feel this is way is because before we tried to change our eating habits, we ate these foods and probably felt like crap at the time, but we didn't realize we felt like crap because those were the things we were eating all day,…
  • I get complemented a lot and it actually gets on my nerves. I know that people are trying to be nice and they have good intentions, but sometimes they go a bit overboad. For example this one lady at work goes on and on about is everytime I run into her. Then she tells other people. Then you get the people (like my mother)…
  • When you say you are eating healthier are you actually staying within your calories? If you have a calories deficit of 500 calories a day, you should lose 1 lb. a week. I know that in the past, I "thought" I was eating healthier and I was, but before I started looking at calories, I was consuming over 3000 calories, so…
  • Phentermine has really helped me so you should look into it. I know that without it, I would have not lost as much weight and would have lost motivation a long time ago. My doctor wrote a Rx for me and told me that I had to continue to show weight loss in order to continue on it. I can be on it for a total of 6 months. I…
  • Well I am taking the one prescribed by my Primary Physician that is 30 mg. I might have spelled it incorrectly. As far as my experience, it really helped me kick start my weight loss. I loss about 18 lbs in the first month, and altogether have lost 53. After the first 2 months, it slows down a lot, but I still saw a loss…
  • I think most people usually weigh the most at the beginning of the week because you are typically just coming off of the weekend when most people "cheat" on their diets. Most people weigh less on Fridays. I usually weigh in every Monday or Tuesday morning before I eat anything. I would suggest picking one day a week to…
  • Thank you guys for all the suggestions. I went ahead and ate dinner, I went over my calories by about 500, but I was still within my normal calorie range (to maintain my weight). Mondays and Wednesdays are really long days for me and I usually cannot fit time in to exercise otherwise I would have been fine. I just need to…
  • I am by no means an expert, and am just giving you my opinion, but I think it is ok to be over on your protein. Protein helps to build muscle and also keeps you full. If you would decrease the amount of protein you take in, you would probably be hungry and end up consuming more calories.
  • I have noticed that most of them taste no so great at first and after a couple of days it kinda grows on you. As soon as you switch it up, you have to start all over and go through the firs couple of days and then it gets better again. I have been using the Syntrax Nectar Sweets Chocolate Truffle from Vitamin Shoppe. I mix…
  • I think as long as you are getting about 1200 calories a day and you are meeting all nutritional needs and not looking at just calories that you should be fine. If they are enough to keep you full until your next meal then that is great. Someone asked if you are going to continue to have the shakes for 2 meals once you…
  • I do the wii ea sports active and active more and it is a combo of strength training and cardio. I count it as cardio and just know that I am strength training at the same time. On the wii, it gives you a count of the calories you burned. If you are getting a cardio workout I would log it the same way I do.
  • Thank you for your suggestions..........I will let you guys know in a couple of weeks if it worked!
  • I think I am going to try step aerobics and add strength training, but does anyone know if I can go back to the cardio on the arc trainer and if so, how long do I wait before I go back to doing that?
  • If you are considering the Wii, I have it and although the EA Sports Active is a good workout, I would say its more for strength training than cardio. I get very little cardio from the Wii and rely on the Elliptical for that. As the previous person said, try something out before you spend any money purchasing it.
