I just responded to a post the other day and the guy bought a Timex and said he was having problems with it. I purchased a Polar FT7 about 2 weeks ago and love it. It was on sale for $100 (reg. $110) at Sports Authority and I used a $25 off coupon that I downloaded from mommysavesbig.com. So I ended up spending just over…

I just bought the Polar FT7 from Sports Authority. It was regular $110, on sale for $100 and then I found a coupon online at mommysavesbig.com for $25 off a $100 purchase, so I got it for $75 before tax. I know this is a lot, but if you want a good quality one, this is probably the best way to go. I like it a lot and it…

I was thinking about trying some kind of Acai Berry supplement, but didn't know which one. I have also been considering doing a colon cleanse. Please keep us updated! I would love to know how well it works! Good luck!

She looks so good............I don't really like the hair, but wow her body looks amazing................

Do yourself the biggest favor in the world and start now! I knew I had a slight weight problem at 19, but figured I would change it someday..........well I ended up gaining about 7 lbs a year since then. Needless to say..........10 years later I was about 100 lbs overweight! I've lost most of it and I'm actually only 7 lbs…

First of all Congratulations! 56 lbs is a lot and I know how hard it is. Sometimes people don't say anything because they are unsure how to say in a tactful way.............or they are worried that you might take offense to it. You could be on the other side of the spectrum were people dwell on how much weight I have lost…

Well I saw a piece on our local news about how far along the technology has come. They talked about the pain being very minimal and being able to resume normal activities within a day. I made an appointment with the doctor that did my Aunt's, but he can't see me for a consultation until late June!!!! And then it will be at…

I'm dying to know how it went??????? Good I hope!

You can do one of 2 things, you can exercise more and earn calories, or you can adjust your goal to 1/2 lb. a week and just lose at a slower pace. I had to adjust my goal to 1/2 lb a week because it was so hard to stay under my calorie goal and I was going over and getting discouraged when it was set to 1 lb a week. Maybe…

i totally agree with Dizzieferg.................Just continue what you have been doing because obviously it is working if you are down 27 lbs. I don't know how long it has taken you, but you still have a lot of time. Continue what you are doing and then if you still don't fit into it about a month before, see if a tailor…

So are expensive heart rate monitors accurate? I had purchased an inexpensive pedometer and it was totally off, so I know the importance of purchasing a quality piece. Does anyone know? If so, do you have any suggestions on a heart rate monitor that would work?

I think you should totally go for it! If your friends knew that you liked him from day 1, then they stepped on your toes and didn't care about your feelings. Also, I just ran into an old friend from high school yesterday at the gym. She told me she is married to this guy that our other good friend used to date in high…

I totally feel the same way as you! I think that everyone probably thinks I'm not human because I always leave the gym with a huge ring of sweat around the neckline of my shirt. It is so embarrassing, but I just tell myself that I am obviously working way harder than them and that its paying off. I have always been one…

The only thing that I can think of is maybe you are not doing enough cardio and therefore not burning fat. I kinda feel like I'm in the same boat.........only just with my arms...........I am so hesitant to use weights for arm exercises because I feel like I am just making my arms bigger by building muscle under the fat.…

I think it is best to just use one scale or if you are going to use more than one only compare a weight that you previously got from the same scale. We had a biggest loser competition at work and the lady in charge kept changing the scales so there was no accuracy. It ended up being a disaster and somehow I got kicked out…

I hate those days! Instead of getting down on yourself, try to use it as motivation to work out a little harder for your next workout. Don't dwell on it and let it mess you up. I used to do that and now I just have to tell myself that tomorrow is another day. Good luck.

You look great! Congratulations! I wish you continued success. Not to mention, you are totally motivating the rest of us!

I think realistically most people can lose about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. a week without being unhealthy. I think you should shoot for about 10 lbs. and anything over will be a bonus! And then you will be a quarter of the way to your ultimate weight goal.

Maybe it would help if you only weigh yourself once a week instead of daily. I think if you weigh yourself so often that it kinda consumes you in your journey. I usually weigh myself every Tuesday morning at about 6:30 am. It is just enough time to be able to see a difference (granted if you are losing) and it is also long…

Also if you think about it............ So I would see pictures of me and ask my friends, do I really look like that...........to me it was bad, but that is what I really looked like to them. I think we always have an "image" in our own head about what we should and do look like. Now that we are losing weight it is on the…

This might help for making your beans "refried" without so so many calories. I always make my beans in the crockpot and then about 1/2 an hour before they are ready I get about 2 tablespoons of lard and melt it in a small sauce pan, once it is all melted I add a couple tablespoons of flour and make a "gravy". I pour it…

I totally know what you are talking about! I barely started seeing the difference after I lost almost 50 lbs. Everyone would tell me that I was looking good............one of my students told me "Wow Ms.........you can really tell in your face that you've lost a lot" and I just couldn't see it. I would look at before and…

I know how frustrating it is when the scale isn't moving and you are working your butt off exercising and watching what you eat. Someone on a different post recommended the following...........get a pair of jean that are your goal..........they obviously will not fit at first, but try them on about once a week. Even if you…

Oh my gosh! How do you people do it? My calories lowered to 1750 and I absolutely could not do it and was getting so discouraged. I had to change my goals to lose 1/2 lbs. a week instead of 1 lbs/week just so I could reasonably make it on a daily basis. This upped my calories to about 2000. I think if you have set your MFP…

I think the best way to go about it is expect your children to learn and practice a healthy lifestyle. My parents never put a limit on things like soda and candy. I remember always reaching for coke when I was thirsty, never water. My grandpa owned a bar, so I could go to the back and grab a coke or bag of chips, or…

My earliest memory of being overweight was around 5th grade. This was also about the time I hit puberty. It was never a big deal, as I was not really that big, but I remember it always being in the back of my head. I remember after my mom had my younger sister her going to nutrisystem meetings and being so secretive about…

I drink a protein shake every morning. I have very little time in the morning and am always running late. I bought one of the blender systems with individual cups and it is really fast. I mix one scoop of protein shake mix with 8 oz. of skim milk, blend for about 10 seconds and then just have to clean the cup I drank out…

Thank you for all of your responses. I agree with those of you who said that people lack tact and are trying to be nice and it just comes out all wrong. I am totally with kiffypooh...........I don't like the complements from my mom...........actually I hate them. I've even asked her to not mention my weight loss. I've…

I can totally relate to you! I have lost inches everywhere but my arms. I've lost the fat on my arms, but now I have skin that sags and is really gross. I am not at all a believer in plastic surgery, but I am seriously considering it. My arms are so gross. In fact, everyone asks if I have more self esteem now because of…

I think you should try to eat all of the calories you get from exercise. You are still doing great................in 2 months you've lost 5 lbs.! Even if you lost 1 lb a week, you are only off by 3 lbs. It will come to you before you know it. Whatever you do, just don't give up. I think you are doing great and I bet you…
