  • Yes you are doing it wrong. If you want to change your body then first you need to change your mind. If you can't eat healthy foods, like fruits and vegetables, then you can not obtain a healthy body. If you simply want a slender body, then eat fewer calories than your body burns each day, that will probably require you to…
  • I see no reason for you to insult me, but if you insist on suggesting how I should handle friends you should first learn how to spell "friends", if I chose to block "everyone who makes me feel inferior", there would be no one on this site I would need to block. Have a nice day
  • I understand your desire to find individuals who are more aligned to your current circumstance, and now you have found the pleasant responses from our community forum groupies. I will clear up a few of the questions, the comment the OP made regarding being able to eat more than women was referring to the allotted daily…
  • @Tisch, from 170.2 to 168.2 is a loss of 1.4. So see, that is better than you thought, good job!
  • If you think the calorie count is to low, change your desired weight loss to 1 pound a week. See how it goes for a few weeks and then decide. "generally" what you find is that by watching what you eat and eating healthier options, you can get quite a bit of food in a relatively low calorie count. Good Luck on your Journey.
  • @Katy, That is not a question that can be answered. The inches change based on toning up, and no one knows how many inches they will lose.
  • I love how it is simply a lie. I happen to know for a fact that the poster would do all of those things for love, as would everyone else. Don't think so? Well ok, here's the scenario... I am holding a gun to someone you love (you child, spouse, parent, etc) and you look in my eyes and know that I am truly about to end…

  • I think the entire family gathering for the holidays is damn near a thing of the past. Either people can't afford to go to where the bulk of the family is, or they already are there all living under one roof. Tough economics and rising inflation has simply eliminated a lot of the things that we may have taken for granted…
  • Congratulations! You should Definitely Add Pic's, read this for how to do it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/104076-posting-pictures-on-the-boards-tutorial Happy Thanksgiving!
  • My wife and I just came from her OB Doctor on Monday. We went to verify she was pregnant, due on Jul 8th :-). I specifically asked him about her continued exercise, primarily walking, and caloric intake and informed him of our participation on this site. He told us that as much exercise as she could do was perfectly fine,…
  • Hello, I have little patience for failure, people don't plan to fail; they fail to plan, if your diary is open to your friends and if you are going to commit to logging every day then send me a friend request. If you are going to grab your snack time cookie and go and hide for days at a time, then save the request. I am…
  • Well up until 5 years ago I have worked in the hospitality industry (hotels) for the vast majority of my life and they are open 365 days a year 24 hours a day. Not only did I typically have to work every holiday but generally had to pull double shifts. Having to work on a holiday is a bit depressing, but it beats the heck…
  • Hey Deserae, I have more than your requested figure to lose (unfortunately). I have little patience for failure, people don't plan to fail; they fail to plan, if your diary is open to your friends and if you are going to commit to logging every day then send me a friend request. I am not the "it's ok there is always…
  • Very nicely written. It is a nice twist of thought, I am going to steal it and post on my newsfeed as most of my friends stay out of the forums; for their own sanity I imagine, lol. I generally don't think of eating/living healthy "forever", I look at my baby boys smile and know that I truly want to be more to him than…
  • My answer would really depend on expanding your question a bit. Do you intend on purchasing one or the other, or do you plan on using them at a gym or somewhere they already are? If you are planing on purchasing one, I would recommend the Elliptical. It is far easier on the joints. Make sure that it is sturdy, especially…
  • I tend to agree with the OP. Find a thread where anyone has used any generalization to make their point and you will find someone who has taken offense to that generalization. I posted a comment once to the effect of "We are all such experts, that must be why we are overweight and out of shape", sure enough along comes…

  • You gotta get him behind your efforts so that you can continue to be successful when he is home.
  • @ SwaggerMommy What are you using to determine your exercise burn? If it is MFP calculations, they tend to be high and since you are eating back your exercise calories that "could" be a big part of the problem. I would suggest trying not to eat the exercise calories back for a week and see how that works. Then if you…
  • @katy0987 Sorry to hear the week has been tough on you. Dust yourself off and get back on track. This week try something, every time you think of an excuse (for why you can't exercise, or why you can't stay with in your goal, or why you can't turn a bad choice down), I want you to stop and think about the people who are…
  • @ RocksFlower It is probably water, the good news is that it should show a nice loss next week. Just stay on target and everything will be great.
  • I thought you were just getting a head start, and did not want a reminder email from me.
  • @Jeleclekat As long as it's going down it's going in the right direction  That chart sure looks familiar, it is so nice to watch all the numbers drop and see the constant reminder of where you started.
  • @Healthylady88 Another one bites the Dust! @Tisch1985 Any loss is a good Loss! @Gutterball Measuring losses is better than the scale! @Fattypattybin Glad to see you again. @Lhs1965 I think you did a fabulous job while on vacation, both in controlling what you ate caloric wise and in your walking. @No1belongs Get prepared…

  • It surprises me that there are not more responses including a celebration meal or party. I have such a long way to go that I have not thought about what I will do to celebrate my accomplishment of actually getting there just yet.
  • Congrats! As so many others have already said, yes it is possible. You will almost always see your biggest loss when you first start a new routine. That is why it is important to change your routine once your downward trend ceases. Keep your body guessing, moving, working, and you will reach your goal.
  • Good Idea, I also have a 10 month old boy. My wife set up a Christmas List and Birthday list for him on Target. It is just like a wedding registry, works great for out of town family that want to gift and for all those that don't like gifting money and want to get something that the child does not already have.
