And by the way, thanks for sharing this OP. It's nice to know I'm not alone out here in "fear of weight regain-land". :)
-
I personally relate. To the extent that my fear of weight gain led to "disordered eating". I will tell you the advice I was given, and then I'll tell you the parts I actually agreed to follow. Quit tracking calories. Quit getting on the scale. Eat a well rounded diet in moderate portions and your clothes will tell you if…

Usually the first week I've been on any change in diet that put me in a place where I was eating better, I lost more weight than any other single week. So next week, don't count on the six. But you might get two!
-
I lost the weight merely through portion control and elimination of some bad habits. I still ate carbs on a daily basis.

If you are using MFPs calorie calculations, eat back your calories. If you are basing your intake on TDEE minus a reasonable deficit (15-20%) and you accurately described your activity level when calculating your TDEE, then you don't eat back exercise calories. IMHO

I have struggled with both anxiety and depression for a long time. You have made a huge step by taking those feelings out of the dark and giving them light and air (by sharing with others). It was/is hard for me to do that a lot of the time. I don't have any easy answers for you, but just know you're not alone.

I had a group of friends that had a frienemy who would hang with us from time to time. We were all ladies carrying a little too much weight and she was perfect and thin and hair always perfect and make-up always perfect. And she was one of those that was horribly insecure and constantly needed validation, which she sought…

I found one of MFPs was located in my city. We have gotten together to walk and chat before. And I certainly do it again. But if you mean in terms of a male-female get together, I'm married, but if I was single, I suppose I might consider it.

I hate exercising. Plain and simple.

I detect sarcasm here...   But, yeah. That's pretty much what I do.

I weigh the food to identify it's contents, not to shrink the portion based on the results. So if I decide I want a particular piece of meat, I weigh it and document the five ounces or whatever it is. If I weigh it and determine it's five ounces and I really only want to eat three ounces, I cut the excess off and throw it…

I have several thoughts on this post, and please, take what you like and leave the rest as far as my opinion goes. 1. The very notion that you had to "step it up a notch (or whatever your wording was)" to go to an event with him is a load of garbage. Now, of course we want our spouse/partner to look hot when we go out with…

The problem with "eating back your exercise calories" is I don't know that MFP has the best method for calculating calories burned and it's easy to fool ourselves into thinking we're burning more than we are. The benefit of TDEE with a 15-20% deficit is you don't have to figure out whether or not washing the windows was…

I used MFP's calculator for some time until I read In Place of a Road Map. I decided to check out this TDEE thing when my weight loss stalled at one point. "If what you're doing isn't working, do something else", was my thinking. I did TDEE minus 20% and then didn't have to worry about eating back exercise calories and gee…

Welcome. And may I join the many others who will say 500 calories a day is a starvation diet with no long term sustainable weight loss results. I've lost 45 pounds since last year and I did it in a healthy way and have been maintaining since March. You can do this!
-
Familiarize yourself with EDs and then get in contact with someone who specializes in them to help you out. I don't say this flippantly. I say it from personal experience. I started out with a healthy outlook on food and weight loss and by March this year a combination of a health issue and abject terror at the thought of…

I was lucky to have found In Place of a Road Map early on in my lifestyle change. A ginormous thanks goes out to the author. It made a huge difference for me.

I know when I went from "overweight" to "normal" range I darn near cried. Oh and the day I realized I weighed less than it said on my driver's license I just about lost it altogether!!!!

My "type" has changed over the years. At 44 years old, my "type" has more to do with personality than appearance, because I'm at a place in life where I'm realizing that appearance is very temporary. A hot looking *kitten* now is going to be an old saggy *kitten* later. I'd rather have a decent looking guy of no particular…
-
Step one - Tell boyfriend what his douchbag team mate just said to you. Request that boyfriend ask said *kitten* not to speak to you anymore. Now, I didn't say request boyfriend to pick a fight and kick his @$$. Just that he ask the guy not to speak to you. Step two - do your best to ignore said *kitten* because he's…

I read something once that said "you crave what you eat". Eating sweets makes you crave sweets. So drinking sweet flavored sodas makes you crave sweet as well, if you agree with that line of thought. And since your body can't tell artifically sweet from real sweet, my guess is drinking diet soda is going to lead to…

It's your inner beauty that really matters. (gag, choke, spit, barf....)

My guess is it was a five telling you that you were an eight hoping to tap into your inherent self esteem issues (made obvious by the fact you posted this to begin with) and get you to let him into your pants in an effort to rebuild your self esteem... IMHO

Because of my recent bout with EDNOS, the first thing my doc asks me every time I see him is "do you still have your period". Lucky me, it's still hanging around, although there hasn't been much of one for years even with extra weight. I'm curious as to the cause of yours. It's generally low body fat from what I understand…

Only when I want to depress the heck outta myself and obssess over every little change in the numbers. Seriously though. I weigh in once a week. If weigh in day the scale shoots out a number that I know can't be realistic (says I gained three pounds when I know I've stayed on track all week) then I'll weigh in for a couple…

People who say "nucular" (for nuclear), "realator" (for realtor), "jewlery" (for jewelry) and a variety of other mispronounced words. Oh, and the word "irregardless" just pisses me off no matter how you pronounce it. It means the exact same thing as "regardless". It's a BS made up word (yes, I know it's in the dictionary,…

Just try looking for any forum titled "Is 1200 calories safe to eat", or "Dr. Oz says", or "There's this new diet fad", or "Starvation Mode" or any of the other hot button topics. You will no doubt find someone being mean to someone! LOL

^^^ This. I'm pretty sure I got fat because I ate too much crap and sat on my lazy butt too much. But that's just me I guess...
