Thanks for your insightful "article". While I am not one to concentrate on one thing, or one area, I am one to get really down on [and] about myself for my physical appearance. Your article opened my eyes to the fact that I can only do so much and so long as I consistently do that much, I will feel better about myself and…

thats not bad. Long as that booty is nice and round:) I like curves so if theres a few dimples im cool
Being a curvy woman, I love men who love curves
Ditto that! If a man can't handle my curves, then he can't handle ALL that I have to offer ;)

Yeah...we are not talking muscle definition here. I could only wish at this point!

More than 2 but under 8

Ok, Danger...you know I GOTTA post a poll for this one.

Great!

I have this very same problem! I have to be soooo careful of what I eat...one slip up and I could gain 5 pounds from it! I have always battled with my weight, and get very frustrated that the 15 minutes it takes to consume a hamburger and a small mocha frappe can undo an entire week of "being good".

I work 12 hr night shifts (7p-7a) and a part time job (0400-til about 0800) on all my off mornings, so I am *perpetually* tired....I have to push myself thru workouts.

If you have hamburger, make a veg beef soup....

You look FANTABULOUS in that new old skirt! Keep up the good, no, awesome work!

At this time last year I was almost 260. Today I am 220....and no where near my goal.

Just for an experiement Sunday night, I weighed myself every 3 hours at work (I work 12 hr shifts). At 7pm, I weighed 220.1, at 10pm I weighed 225.6, at 2am I weighed 228.0 and at 5am, I weighed 227.9 Once a week for me. I was fretting over this 8 pound weight gain in 12 hours...

I'm no expert, but I think you need to have just a little bit of everything in healthy moderation. There are REALLY important nutrients in fruit that your body needs. Eat a bushel of bananas a day? Not a good idea. A banana with breakfast and half a grapefruit w/ lunch? GREAT idea!

Remember, when the sun comes up tomorrow, it's a new day and a clean slate. I was having issues with "binge" eating...because I was being too strict with myself. Sundays I pretty much eat whatever I want to, I'm mindful of my portions, and it seems to help with craving bad stuff the other 6 days of the week. (If my husband…

Shopping is fun fun fun! Your spouse or significant other smacks your rear end and says "dayum looking pretty good back there" Your child hugs you and says "geez Mom I can get my arms all the way around you now" (my fave) Your coworkers threaten to put out a missing persons report because "you're whittling away to nothing"…

I am under most days. Because I am afraid to eat anything. Went grocery shopping today with hubby and I think I was ticking him off because I was obsessively reading EVERYTHING and then putting it back: "too many cals", "too many carbs", "too many sugars", "too much (insert soemthing here)". He was like "Jesus, Kristine!…

Naw...this is just a digital scale in the ER where I work. I use this same scale all the time tho.

Mmmm I get all that. Looking back at my food log for yesterday, I don't think my Na+ intake was huge...and I don't get that monthly water retention issue that my female cohorts do :) I drink anywhere from 64-120oz water/day. Argh

I know I shouldn't have done it....now I wish I hadn't.

About a month ago, my husband and I went out....that is when he started to really notice my losses. I wore an outfit that is not normally "me" and my husband (being the non-dancer that he is) REALLY took notice to ***some other guy*** noticing me on the dance floor alone  Now he pays better attention and the…

I found that I forget things. I was only journaling at the end of the day on here, now I carry a little pad of paper around and write EVERYTHING down so I don't foget.

What exactly is this and where can I find a video to see how it is done? Nevermind. Found it on youtube.

On the treadmill, I alternate my incline from 7.5-15 (15 is as high as the one at my gym will go). Do you think it's better to walk faster (4.0mph) at that incline for this purpose, or slower?

BBA, Is it working for your wife? If so...just follow her lead :) Also, read thru the "success stories" folder on the message boards, be esp sure to check out the ones with before and after pics. Very inspiring. Good luck if you decide to embark on the weight loss journey.

megan, I was having the same issue. I would get done working out and seemed to REALLY CRAVE carb"y" foods! I have a bit of a drive home from the gym, so when I am getting ready to go, I pack a small thing of fruit and a specialK protein bar and leave it in my car for the drive home. It seems to help alot. Good luck.

You are doing awesome!

When I lay down, either on my back or my side....I have killer curvy hips. And my husband can't help but to lay a hand on top and comment about liking the curve effect. Also, I see that I am becoming more "hour glass" like.

Ya know dangit......if we could just engineer veggies to taste like dark chocolate or Leinenkugel's HoneyWeiss beer!!! Not that I dislike veggies, I just like beer and dark chocolate mmmmmuch much more ;) Thanks for all the great tips/advice/replies thus far. I appreciate :)

No, I don't think I am an "obsessor"...I don't think I am being strict, I try to stay under what MFP allows me daily. Unfortunately, getting to the gym is a bit problematic for me, I work 12 hr night shifts in a horribly busy ER; when I get off work in the morning and finally get my son off to school, the last thing I want…
