Met all goals yesterday but modified to make the Skinny Veggie lasagna in the afternoon since school ended up being canceled. Plus I put the recipe into MFP recipe builder and got an accurate calorie count for it (the recipe says 245 calories per serving, but doesn't tell you how many servings there are, plus they use fat…

Yesterday met all goals. JFT: 1. Log all food and stay under goal for calories 2. Make Skinny Taste lasagna for dinner (prep this morning as there is a two hour delay) 3. Go to the gym 4. Drink two 32 oz cups of water by the end of the day Happy Monday!

Met goals yesterday, although I didn't really calculate the calories of my salad correctly. The restaurant didn't have nutrition info online, but MFP did, BUT it was the salad at one cup, and I'm sure I ate well over a cup of salad. Ah well. JFT: 1. Stick to the plan 2. Log all food and stay under calorie goal 3. Go the…

Didn't get out to exercise yesterday- I work at a school and we ended up closing due to an ice storm followed by 3-4 inches of snow. My husband went out and said that even the main roads were impassable and people were doing 20mph on the main road through town, so I didn't even venture out the half mile to the gym. My…

MFP gives me 1200 calories and it usually won't go lower than that I'm told. I am average height at 5'4" and have a sit down job. I don't think I could survive without starving on 1200 so it motivates me to exercise for 45 minutes to an hour a day, adding 200-300 calories which definitely helps quite a bit. I've had…

Met all goals yesterday except didn't go to bad art night due to schedule change. JFT 1/12: 1. Log all food and stay under calorie goal 2. Exercise 45-50 minutes (brave going out in the freezing rain/snow) 3. Continue to drink lots of water throughout the day 4. Keep my healthy snacks at hand so that I don't get too hungry…

JFT January 11: 1. Log all food for the day, even those 25 calorie coffee creamer things 2. Stay away from any snacks people bring in to share (or if I do eat any- log them as best I can) 3. Take an hour lunch and go home and eat, get away and relax for a bit 4. Go to gym on the way home from work 5. Eat healthy dinner and…

I lost an average of 5 pounds a month- probably a little more the first month because the first week I lost more water weight. I did exercise but not excessively at first. I started lifting weights 3x a week a few months into my weight loss. My goal was to lose 55 pounds and it took me about a year and a half to do it. I…

Drinking water all day long.

On the contrary, if I see a group of elderly people- in their 80s at least, they are usually very thin. I don't see many overweight or obese elderly people, and I believe it is because people who are overweight tend to die younger.

I was diagnosed years ago and now I'm on 100 mcg of levothyroxine. I think it's very important to get your TSH levels that is right for you, despite what the "normal" range is. I lost 55 watching my calories and keeping under my range - over the course of a year and a half. For me gaining weight over the years had much…

You do look great. Keep heading toward your goal. It's definitely not easy. I used to follow a column in the newspaper of a guy who had the surgery and he talked about having to deal with anger and other strong emotions and how it was surprising to him, because before he used food to cope and now he couldn't. You don't get…

The pictures kind of threw me off at first because your tattoos are on opposite sides but then I realized that the "after" photo was you taking it in a mirror- lol. You look great and should be very proud.

Great job! I was on statins for years for high cholesterol but was finally able to get off of those after losing the weight. Keep on truckin'.

The last 5 pounds or so is very very difficult. I had to stop eating back any exercise calories to finally get there. You could also try changing up your exercise, adding high intensity short intervals to exercise, really tightening up your logging (no licks, bites or tastes as those can add up), and tracking macros. I…

I would think not. A healthy rate of loss is about 1.5-2 pounds a week, and it will slow down to .5-1 pound a week the closer you get to your goal. I am 5'4" and I lost roughly 7 pounds the first month and then about 5 pounds a month after that for about 4-5 months and then it slowed down quite a bit, went through a…

I hit several plateaus throughout- here are some things I did that helped to break them: -Weighed all of my foods- solid and semi solids (such as peanut butter, etc) - before I was just measuring -Tightened up logging- I was doing too much of the BLT (bites, licks, tastes)- these can add up! -Incorporated intervals into my…

For the person that asked- vanity sizing is a ploy by clothing makers to try to get you to buy their brand because you are a smaller size in it- people who say they are down to 160 and now wear a size 4- ummm nope you're not. I wish that women's sizes were the same as men's- just measurements and we wouldn't have this…

Great job! It is easy if you just follow the plan - slow and steady will get you there.

You get tired of the attention you get from people that you don't see on a daily basis, because they notice the dramatic weight loss. Those you see daily don't say as much, or they'll say "you seem to be losing weight- are you?". Those that you only see every few weeks just gush over how much you've lost and how thin…

Don't let one meal or one day derail you. Get back on the horse. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

My husband talked about wanting to lose weight for years, while I was the one trying different diets, losing a bit of weight and then putting it back on again. I had tried MFP a couple of times but didn't get serious about it until summer of 2014 (when I found a site called calorie king that made it very easy to get…

I believe I lost about 4 pounds the first week- mostly water (husband lost 8 the first week). After that I consistently lost around 5 pounds a month for the first 5-6 months, and then hit a plateau. I have hypothyroidism and even talked to my doctor about why I couldn't lose on 1200 calories a day (eating back half of my…

It took me about 4-5 months to lose the last 10 pounds. I tried counting macros, increasing exercise intensity, adding intervals to exercise- all seemed to help a little. For those last 5 pounds I didn't eat back exercise calories at all. I just wanted to see that number one time on the scale and now I'm trying to maintain…

Why are you in such a hurry? What's going to happen when you go off of the medication? Take your time. Real lasting weight loss happens at a slow rate.
-
Wow you look about 10 years younger! Great job and congratulations!

My husband kept talking about wanting to lose 20-30 pounds- literally talked about it for years. Finally he joined a gym and thought he could just exercise off the extra weight and do nothing else. Well he did lose about 10 pounds pretty quickly but then stopped. After I hit my goal he looked at me and said, "What you're…

I'm 5'4" on a good day (short legs) and I started at 180 at the end of July 2014 and hit my goal of 125 in March of 2016. The last 5-10 are really tough but you can do it! I am currently trying to maintain in a range of 125-130. After the holidays last season I was up above 130 and got up to 134 and then was fluctuating…
