neer heard of waist training........i have seen those waist trainer belts though at walmart.....that are supposed to wrap around, and hold in your body heat, which cause you to sweat away your water weight around the midsection.........but it's just that....water weight.......

im not a woman.....lol. but i do supplement with whey protein post-workout and it has helped me meet my protein goals.......i still never 'meet' mfp protein goal, but it gets me closer anyways hehe no complaints......biggest thing is to stay hydrated.....i'd say no more than 1 protein scoop/shake per day......as i've heard…

yes,,,,lol. cheese, peanut butter.....etc.....it's like night and day when u go measuring with cups, vs. a digital kitchen scale hehe......i was like, what? that's all? 32g of peanut butter......1 serving.
-
i workout at night too......and yes, a post workout shake is a good idea......liquid is easier for your body to digest that late at night......compared to say a chicken breast or something.......as far as recommendations, i really don't have any.....i honestly switch my protein brands up every time i run out.......this…

this isn't to say oils are bad......some of you are making it sound like oil is bad.......they are not. oil adds flavor, makes the food taste better......also fills you up. but yes, definitely weigh your oils.......especially coconut oil.....lol. it is delicious.....but yes, 1 tablespoon is like 100+ calories.....
-
i'd recommend weighing out your portions.....it could be you're under estimating what you're actually consuming.....i know i didn't start dropping the weight until i got the digital kitchen scale...lol. it made me think too.......damn if i eat this, that means i gotta weigh it first.....lol. mind control haha..

do you got a gym membership? proud of you.....i didn't have the patience for the daniel fast....even though i knew it would be good for me.....but i did follow some of the criteria, etc....from the fast in my daily life....but....psyical activity is gonna be your best bet....it's what helped boost me into beast…

weight training has a lot of variables......especially if you take long breaks between sets......typically, when i wear my heart rate monitor......during my workouts i will find that myfitnesspal's calorie burn is 100 calories greater than what my hrm reads.....which is essentially measuring my output based on my heart…
-
every diet plan i've ever used (which wasn't successful.....hence the reason i am now here) always had the standard disclaimer, not to lose more than 2 lbs of weight per week, after the first week.....now, the first week it's okay if you drop 5 pounds......etc....cause that first week it's basically water weight going…

under settings http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings you may have enable negative adjustments enabled.....? look into that.....could be what's triggering it.

biggest tip i can give, is to start by drinking half your body weight in fluid ounces of water per day...... so if you're 150....that's 75 fl. oz. of water per day. obviously, works best to spread it out throughout the daily, preferably before meals....and between meals.....it'll help keep you fuller. invest in a digital…

lol. i now fit into the 'small' fitbit flex wrist band......and here i thought i was 'big boned' ahaha
-
thanks for the input. i got the app on my phone, and i get discouraged when i see the calories go into the negatives.....lol. especially with fitbit synced up too, it'll take away calories too, if i'm not as 'active' during the day....and then give me them back later on in the day based on my daily activities....and yea,…

so compared to the rest of the world, im still fat. haha

i typically drink half my body weight in fluid ounces of water......sometimes i make it, sometimes i dont......and i only count water, as water. coffe doesn't count, tea doesnt count....89.5 fl. oz. is my goal for today. 30 more oz. to go.

i plan a cheat meal, typically once a week.....if you do some research, there is studies shown that strict calorie reduction (1200, etc) all week, and a cheat meal mixed in.....on one of those days, it's supposed to spike the metabolism......your body goes crazy, like, "omg where did this food come from" and so it goes…
-
can't go wrong with the charge.....i have read there is a variation in the heart rate readings with the charge hr though, compared to a chest strap hrm.....that's my killer there.....i personally use a chest strap hrm, as well as a fitbit at the gym, to give me a closer look at my true calorie burn. sometimes fitbit and…

bingo. i did not see this mentioned.......i had your similar problem when i first started my journey 2 years ago (september 18th.....). i had bouts where the scale just would not budge....i then got a digital kitchen food scale from walmart, think i paid 12 bucks for it.....and now literally weigh everything i…
-
i had elevated blood pressure.....as a kid though i had perfect bp.....so my mom was worried when i told her about my elevated bp....chalked it up to the laziness and the 'college diet' i was on ...... lol.....lots of microwaved/instant type food.....well...it's gone down now. but i've also started eating better. kicked…
-
i don't know if you can consider an elliptical 'walking' but it helped me immensely.....lol. it gets most of the credit for my weight loss when i first joined. just realize, you gotta eat right.....i'd consider taking a probiotic over the counter to aide your digestion too....eventually you will plateau from walking…
-
strength training logging is gonna be very sketchy.....lol. i do it.....only because i use a heart rate monitor.....i typically take an average of the calorie burn from myfitnesspal, and the calorie burn from my heart rate monitor.....and over-ride mfp's value.....cause mfp is typically 100 calories higher.....than my…

butter hands down......but keep in mind....most newer margarines are moving away from the hydrogenated oils/fats.....but yes, you're better off using butter.....real butter. and in moderation.
-
mfp has taught me, everything in moderation......and thru my own research, make room for 'cheat meals'......i typically reserve high sugar desserts for my 'cheat meal' - i do not keep ice cream, muffins, pastries, etc. in my house.....they are kept far away...lol. and only on my dedicated cheat meal days......these days i…
-
lol. interesting question.....but in a nutshell, i typically weigh what i eat. apples are 'iffy' though haha......too much hassle to weigh prior.....then eat all but the core, then weigh again.....and subtract the core.......too much hassle lol.....and really, not that big of a difference in calories.......probably talking…
-
i picked up a cheap heart rate monitor from ALDI Market for like 20 bucks and love it......it has the chest strap so I dont have to keep tapping the watch, i love it.....and then i use the fitbit flex to track my steps.....i sync all my workouts with mfp and fitbit.....using the start and end time.....sometimes MFP is spot…

to cut weight/fat, cardio is going to be your best friend......be it the elliptical, stepper, or the treadmill.....or a mix of all 3.... also want to incorporate weight lifting......be nosy, watch what other people are doing.....and take mental notes ;) and do similar workouts.....don't go right next to them and do them or…
-
for me.....i work out at night.....so my post workout 'meal' is typically a can of sardines or tuna.....and a whey protein shake......else, a cup of cottage cheese and pepper.....lol sounds gross, but after a gruelling work out it's delicious ;) i just don't like eating a big meal that close to bed time.....and i typically…
-
i never eat my calories back......my schedule just doesn't allow it...lol. i typically eat a big breakfast......medium lunch.....and small dinner.....which is usually after my p.m. workout, after i get done with work. I work out at night cause of my work schedule and no way could i "eat back" all those calories before bed…
-
i second the notion! LOL.....i never jump on a machine next to someone else....unless there are no other machines available......this is also why i avoid prime times (5-6 p.m. lol).....too crowded. My guess, is she likely didn't know how bad her jacket reaked of smoke......i know my stepdad was this way when he…

what band....if you don't mind me asking......500 calories burned doesn't seem like a lot.....are you sure you got your vital statistics set up in it properly.....age, sex, height, weight, etc....? I love my fitbit flex......but will say, yes it does seem to be a bit "off" some days.....I use it to supplement my fitness…
