Dinner? Please be aware of her. It makes me leery of her starting an eating disorder as well. Once someone falls to that demon it's a HARD road to escape it. I hope she has a healthy perspective/goals/etc. Just want to second that awareness -- for anyone -- is important.

I don't have any concrete restrictions, but smart & motivated is sexy as hell!

Most seafood and celery. Because of taste AND texture. Olives and cucumbers because of taste. And.....I'm iffy on oatmeal, solely because of its texture. I think that's the gist of it for me.....

Have one serving every now and again as a treat so that it's not forbidden and you don't break and binge on it, and then just stop. You're making the choice. Once you own it rather than making excuses for it, you'll have better control.

Or her....not only cereal and milk that she mentioned she had together (which combines protein and carbs). But even just milk itself. GASP.

I was diagnosed with it a few months ago. I've been on metformin 500mg bid for about 5 weeks now, along with a high protein diet (that's the aim, some days are better than others. my doctor actually suggested supplementing with a high quality protein shake wouldn't be a bad thing), moving more, and losing weight. ETA -…

Of course. But of course, my suggestion is more conservative than most other people's anyways and I said tend, not always, which it's true that it's common. I was just saying there are some possible reasons that it *may* be restricted or contraindicated, such as kidney disease (not only fairly common knowledge in the…

The reason I told the OP not to worry about it unless she has a medical condition that contraindicates it is that it's hard to get TOO much protein. It can be tough on the kidneys (and liver), but for most healthy people, the amount you can and would eat generally isn't a problem. Renal patients tend to be put on a low…

Unless you have a medical condition that contraindicates much protein, don't worry about it.

This makes me look at scrambled eggs in a whole new way......

If you're going with MFP's set up then yes you are SUPPOSED to eat your calories back. One of my friends actually emailed them and asked, because there is so much debate here. They already put you at a deficit to lose when you set it up, so even if you eat back all your calories (which you should) you'll still be…

When I was a wee one, I woke up before the adults one day and stuck a wire hanger in the side of my dog's eye.....because I was curious what would happen. He didn't enjoy it very much.

You look amazing, and even more importantly I bet you feel GREAT! You have awfully cute motivation. Congrats on your success, and your daughter :)

^^^ LOVE this.

I'm very much a live and let live person. That would be annoying to have people do that :( I don't care what people are doing really, unless it's super destructive. And even then I try to say something constructively if I am close enough to them, but not harp on it bc that doesn't do any good. Vegetarians or anything else,…

I was previously on Lisinopril, and came off of it when I lost a bunch of weight before and my blood pressure came down. Then I put back about double what I had lost and had a lot of stress in my life and ended up back on BP meds. This time Atenolol and HCTZ. I didn't have any problems with the Lisinopril (or actually none…

I love them! And the Egg Nog Shakes. Before MFP I could easily take at least 1 large and 1 medium in a day, some days. Now, not so much. Maybe 1 small/season :)

I got some Danskin sports bras from.....Walmart for like $15 or so (Ohio). I got the biggest size I saw -- 42DD (I was just transitioning from a 42DDD to a 42DD at that point). And it gives enough support that I feel comfortable Zumba'ing and jogging with it. I don't remember the specific style name, but it hooks in the…

omg you're like, my hockey twin, only male! GO WINGS (Ummm, although I was thrilled about today's game is it sad that I was waiting for them to blow the huge lead in the last 3 minutes? Story of this season.... :-\)

THAT'S a great idea!

^^ Exactly. I've been tracking since the end of October. The only day I didn't log every single thing was Superbowl Sunday. I had gone in knowing I was gonna go over (which is fine, bc I don't go over often and I'd rather live life). The only reason everything didn't get logged was because.....I got a little too tipsy to…

This. One of my friends actually contacted MFP to clarify this as people bicker about it so often, and this is what they said of how their site is intended to be used.

Raised in the US. Both parents born in the US and adopted so don't really know much about biofamily history, but from what my mom knows of her heritage she has some German and Polish blood in her.

I HATE Olives. One of the handful of things I won't eat ;) That being said, pretty much everyone I know likes them. They're pretty common around here, even for stuff like pizza.

We have 6 cats and a bunny. Cats: *Daisy - 9 years old. Was from my friend's barn cat litter. Brown tabby. Very independent. Our oldest, but play like a kitten :) *Sally - also 9. Got her at about 1.5 years old from a rescue. Long haired calico. She's a loud purrer, and likes to act like the "mama" when we brought others…

My mom had a stroke when I was 19 and she was 39. Then she had a heart attack before she was 50. She has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and her blood sugar numbers aren't great. My dad isn't in the picture, but both parents are adopted. I don't want to follow in my mom's footsteps, or worse. I already have HTN. I…

I can totally see it! Your tummy is visibly, and your butt has more definition! Keep it up :)

Yes! As I have no insurance, my neurologist is a neurology resident at a teaching hospital. I really do like him, and his attending comes in briefly at the end of the appt to quickly go over it all and make sure he got everything/point out things he needs/etc. So I'm getting the same care ('though appts take a little…

That sounds a lot like my story (including no insurance). But you really should see a doctor.
