Sorry if my word choice of tone isn't technical, but what I want is to build some muscle AND define it, too. I'm no work-out guru...I just know when I look in the mirror I don't see that much definition and I know I could be stronger, too.

If you're not hungy and nothing sounds good, don't force it! I actually get up at 3:30-4:00 a.m. for work. I am absolutely not hungry then. However, once at work I will usually have a mug or two of herbal tea and lots of water. I like to include fresh lemon juice in my tea and/or water (at least once or twice a day). There…

Thanks for all of the input, y'all! I already have five-pound weights I use (I know it's not much, but I'm still new to this). However, I think I need to step it up to eight pounds. The five is definitely less of a challenge at this point. I will check out all of your suggestions, and again, thank you for taking the time.…

BBQ chips. No matter how hard I try to only eat a portion, I can't. I can polish off a giant bag way too quickly. Also, in terms of the opposite sex, a gorgeous smile and strong jaw line will get my attention...lol.

Are we supposed to tell you what you want to hear or the truth? I’m going to go with the truth: They may be low in calories, but chances are they are high in sodium and low in nutritional value. Not to mention they are typically FULL of preservatives and additives. I know we sometimes are in a hurry and need something…

I used to have a morning coffee addiction. However, when I started juicing in the mornings, I no longer found myself “needing” that cup of coffee. Despite the fact I used to drink about three cups in the morning daily, when I started juicing, I experienced no caffeine withdrawals. I was amazed! I still drink a cup here and…

I want to be friends with all of the brides-to-be! I am getting married in October. While I'm hoping eating healthier and exercising is a long-term life change, the wedding was a huge motivator for me to finally get started. Please add me if you'd like, ladies. I try to keep it all positive and very supportive! Best of…

Never had that one, but I love their veggie & black bean burrito. No dairy but still SO delicious.

Half of an avocado, two tablespoons of homemade dressing and Peach Detox Tea. Eating light because I'm going to go all out for Happy Hour tonight lol. :drinker:

Good morning, Definitely take the water tip to heart. Lots of the time when I think I’m hungry, all I need is some water and/or some herbal tea. Then I feel fine! Since you typically binge at night, try eating light to heavy throughout the day. Eat fresh fruit and/or freshly prepared juice for breakfast. Eat raw salads…

I have to say I love LaraBars, too. The Apple Pie is my favorite. They are a yummy treat/snack. I usually buy them by the box to save a little cash. =)

I have to be honest and admit upfront I have never done WW. My close friend is doing it, though, so I’ve heard a lot about it from her. One of the things I disagree with regarding both WW and counting calories (each in its simplest form) is it neither seem to put enough emphasis on nutrition. I use MFP, and yes I am aware…

Anyone with a positive frame of mind is welcome to add me, too. The only time I'm negative is with myself, and I'm working hard to eliminate that. I also try very to hard to be motivating but keep it all positive!

I'm getting married this fall, so I originally wanted to be in better shape just for that. Now that I've been eating healthier and working out (some lol), I want to stick with it because I feel and look better. My hair and skin are healthier, my asthma has vanished, I feel better about how clothes fit me...etc. I still…

With 800 calories, I think you can splurge more than that (if you want to). You can always try creating a recipe on MFP using the main ingredients they have listed to get a ball park idea of what you're working with. I do this a lot of the time when I go out to eat. Alos, it seems like it's a pretty nice restaurant, so…

 P.S. It all sounds yummy. Enjoy yourself and don't be too hard on yourself for whichever choice you make.

Just a quick analysis from my personal point of view: Appetizers: Tomato bruschetta (limit the bread intake) Mussels (it doesn’t mention they have butter, so this could be a lighter choice, too) Salads (ask for the dressing on the side so you can control the intake): Pomegranate Spinach Salad Pear & Walnut Salad (go easy…

One suggestion I haven’t seen anyone make yet is to make vegetarian spaghetti sauce ahead of time. It freezes well if you want to make a really big batch, too. You can serve the sauce over real pasta or vegetable noodles made from zucchini, squash, carrots etc., make mini pizzas using tortillas or pita bread, eat it by…

I'm sending you a message with a few suggestions. I hope they help! ~Andrea

I'm going to send you a message with some input and suggestions based on my juicing experiences.

I love Greek yogurt. I will eat Greek yogurt by itself, with granola, in place of sour cream or mayo (which I don’t like anyway), in soups, sauces etc. I usually only use a few tablespoons at a time, so I buy traditional Greek yogurt. Not too concerned about the fat content because I eat small quantities.

My Breville Juicer has been my best purchase so far.

It really just depends how I plan to use them if I soak them or not. If you've noticed you have digestive issues when you don't soak them, why not try it? Everybody is different. The best way to know if it works for you, is to try it out. Best of luck!

I use Pandora sometimes, but I love having some tracks saved to a list, too. I have never tried searching workout, though, so I will have to do that! Thanks. =)

Thanks for the tip about Songza. I have never used that before! I still like having a playlist of songs I know pump me up, but I will have to check Songza out to change it up. =)

Does raw, unprocessed and unfiltered honey have the same impact on blood sugar as "regular" honey? Just curious. I know the typical bottle of honey has added sugar and all of the "good stuff" ends up filtered out, but that isn't the case for raw honey.

While I don’t suggest eating multiple avocados a day, the good in them (in moderation) outweighs the calories. They are a fantastic source of potassium, vitamins, fiber, etc. They predominately contain heart-healthy fat. I sometimes eat an avocado a day, and I’m still losing weight. In a nutshell, do not avoid avocados…

I love breakfast foods, but I typically eat light to heavy. Thus, if I’m going to eat traditional breakfast foods, I eat them at dinner lol! I drink freshly-squeezed juice almost every morning. I juice one head of celery, five or six leaves of kale, one lemon, one apple and a tablespoon of ginger. After that, I’ll usually…

How wonderful! Good for you. Keep it up. =)

If you decide to go the route of protein shakes, may I suggest making your own instead of buying a pre-packaged type? When I do make shakes, I typically use fresh fruits, leafy greens (you won’t taste them), homemade almond milk, dates for sweetness etc. I will add an organic powder (like hemp) for the protein if I feel…
