Hiking - we drive to a nearby national park and follow the trails that are set up. Some take 45 mins and some take 2 hours - when we spend the day hiking we can easily burn over 1k calories, it's a lot of fun and we can eat whatever we want, too!
-
I sometimes felt nauseated after working out - I did 20 mins running on the treadmill and then my lifting routine. Especially if the room was warmer than usual, I had to leave or I was gonna puke. Definitely up your water intake!

I have split up exercise (bit in the morning, bit in the evening) and done it all at once (lazy mornings) and it hasn't affected my weight loss at all - I don't know if the 'calories burned' is different (as I just log it and eat it without really paying attention lol) but IMO it all contributes to a healthy lifestyle and…

Sounds scary to me - no chance of pregnancy but have you been checked out for tumours, growths or retaining excessive fluid/edema? If it's legitimately getting bigger (and not just appearing bigger because the rest of you is getting smaller) then you should definitely see a Dr.

Awesome! That is definitely progress :) I don't even like Hershey's chocolate but I wouldn't wanna test my willpower against free chocolate bars.

Thank you for this! I have been feeling rubbish today and the last thing I wanted to do was remember everything I ate, estimate how much it was, and log it. Especially if it puts me over, because I'm feeling too crappy to exercise. But now I've found the will to do it anyway, so thanks a lot :)

You end up consuming exactly what you put in the pan - the traces left on the pan are just that - traces. You can't subtract them from your calorie count, just like you can't subtract calories from the traces of food left on your plate at the end of your meal.

I love seeing it but haven't tracked what it says vs. what I weigh 5 weeks later! It feels like a great little peek into the future though!

This is truly silly, but I really think I might look like a pasty-white Sofia Vergara when all the weight comes off! Won't upset me if I don't - but I have to find out!

I log my exercise and eat all my calories back and I'm still losing on track. It makes it so easy for me to just log everything and stop eating when I hit 0 cals left lol. Saying that, I did manually reduce my calories by 100 a day when I started, just so I don't have to log items under 10-15 calories, and to also provide…

Even on crazy weight loss shows like The Biggest Loser - week 2 is known as the crappy weight loss week. They call it the week 2 curse or something, because everyone lost the majority of their water/digestive weight in the first week, and the scales don't seem to budge as much. So if you're planning on eating as little and…

I went cold turkey for a while which relieved the temptation to just keep eating and eating and eating during my 'witching hour' which for me was right before bed. Now I put on my favourite show, and make something I know I really enjoy, usually a peanut butter sandwich. on white bread! sometimes a hot chocolate, sometimes…

From my tracking I seem to get a 1-3lb gain around the time of ovulation, but it goes back to normal in a week or so, and then I get quite a big drop during my period (2-3lbs this month), despite eating at maintenance for a couple of the worse days. I weigh daily though, and my overall trend is slow and steady loss (see my…

If you weighed yourself after dinner and a workout one day, and then first thing in the morning the next, 7lbs is a normal amount of water/digestive fluctuation. There may be up to about 0.2lbs of fat loss in there, but the rest is water and your digestive tract contents. I would suggest weighing at the same time each day,…

IMO there's nothing wrong with taking a step back for a while if they aren't treating you well. Either they'll realise they need a babysitter/cleaner and will be nice to you so you keep doing it, or they'll genuinely miss having you around. There's nothing wrong with setting boundaries based on how you need to be treated -…

Do you take in a multi-vitamin? If not, you should start taking one. If you do already, definitely get more healthy fats into your diet - whole milk, full fat cheese/sour cream/yogurts. A lot of vitamins are fat-soluble so even if you're taking in enough, they will pass right through you without any fat in your diet. I…

Wow! Can't believe the side-by-side pics are both you! Amazing and inspirational! (*)

1. When I realised I weighed almost as much as I did when I was 38 weeks pregnant, except it was almost 4-5 months later, and I was still wearing maternity jeans but with no baby. 2. I lost 20lbs on MFP before - the only difference this time is that I am actively working out my emotional eating issues. Before I was purely…

A 6lb fluctuation isn't that bad! Once you get back into it hopefully you'll find a few pounds of it was water weight and it'll come right off :)

I'm sorry, I don't know! I have the bladder of a horse so I very rarely 'have' to go - I just go when it's convenient! Frequent peers are a mystery to me :)

This thread is pure animal cruelty, I'm telling! Having said that, duck sized horses. It'd involve less running away in horror and they're easier to stomp.

Congratulations on your gorgeous baby and weight loss so far :) and please accept my sincere condolences for everything you've been through. Your story is tragic, but sounds like it has a very happy ending, as long as you keep it up :) there will be days where you are more depressed than others and days where you're the…

I personally would attempt to net at least my BMR. I know you feel you've been gaining by eating that much - but if you weren't counting calories/weighing foods then, there's really no way to KNOW how much you were eating, and I imagine that it had to have been more than your TDEE. I know they are just estimates, but your…

Drink a little bit more water than you normally do - those deep fried foods can be packed with sodium, esp. if they're fried from frozen.

You're a 5'9" male weighing 145lbs, with a goal weight of 130lbs, and not eating? It sounds very disordered to me. Please see your Dr. and ask about the dangers of such restrictive eating patterns and unhealthy goals.

You maintained on 2300 for 2 years, but as soon as you want to lose weight, you suddenly want to eat 2800 calories? It sounds purely mental to me. It may simply be a case of adjusting your calories until you find yourself satisfied (go for a week with no deficit, then a week with a 100 cal deficit, etc., and build yourself…

UK foods with no US equivalence :( Bacon butties (I know you can just make a bacon sandwich. but the bacon isn't the same. even the bread isn't the same. it's not the SAAAME) Tinned custard Bourbon creams Rich tea biscuits Those vans down town that sell jacket potatoes w/ cheese and beans

Great job with your weight loss so far :) And yes, definitely try to let your emotions out. I have found blogging (in a private blog, not for the public to see) to be really helpful to me - it lets me get out those scary, awful emotions that I don't regularly want to burden people with. But that is only one part of…

I agree with lots of water! When I chug water after a high sodium meal, I am almost guaranteed to be back to normal by morning, even if I've gone a couple of calories over :) I have a 16oz bottle and I aim to drink 2 of them before bed - and that's on top of my normal 4 bottles a day. So it's probably over a gallon…

Also yorkshire puddings = popovers? Though not sure if they're 100% equivalent.
