Looking at your diary, it seems like you eat out a lot and also eat a lot of sweets, alcohol, processed foods, fried foods. I am all for flexible dieting and eating foods you enjoy, but if you are not preparing your own food most of the time then your calorie counts are a complete guess. The restaurant you go to may have…

Starting today! Weighed in at 146 this morning, my usual weight is closer to 140. I would like to get to 138. Around 1700 a day

Perfect timing, fed up with my weight creeping up today.

I would like to join, although I have more like 12 lbs I would like to lose before summer. Age: 36 Height: 5'8 Starting weight - 145 last week 3/6/18 - 141.6 Calories goal is around 1400 + 1/2 exercise cals Good luck!

You joined a little over a month ago so this is not true "stall" but likely you are watching daily weight fluctuations too closely. If you were eating under 1200 and are now eating above 1200 but still in a deficit, the weight may have just spiked up slightly with additional water or waste, not fat. If you are eating in a…

I think you are viewing "dieting" as something super strict that takes 100% focus. It doesn't have to be if you are willing to eat similar meals over and over and make small changes over time. Stopping full sugar sodas is an easy way to cut a bunch of calories. In order to not get a headache, I would suggest gradually…

Buy a scale and weigh everything you eat. At 1400 calories and 5'7 you should be dropping weight. I'm 5'8 and I would be starving at 1400. Also, for me personally the fit bit over estimated my calories burned. When I followed the calories fitbit gave me I didn't lose weight. So are you eating 1400 or 1400 net. If you are…

Eating 1000 calories a day is not going to get you the results you want. You are just setting yourself up for a vicious cycle of crash dieting followed by gaining the weight back when your starving body forces you to eat. Or you will wind up with an eating disorder. Please stop this TODAY, right now. With your stats, you…

It sounds like you have an unhealthy relationship with food and poor body image. Starving yourself to get thin is never the answer, is not sustainable, and can lead to a host of physical problems. After a period of starvation, the body naturally tries to recover by eating more and gaining the weight back (and then some in…

You seriously need to listen to the advice regarding heavy lifting. @Sued0nim has given you some great suggestions. I am a pear shape as well, and heavy lifting has changed my body and mindset tremendously. First, my thighs are firmer, less wiggly. Squats, lunges, etc. help with that. My booty has shaped up from the hip…

1500 is the minimum calories for men. If you lose 1 lb at 1650, then it would take you 1150 to lose two lbs a week. However mfp will not give you calories that low because it is unhealthy. So they give you the minimum instead, which is 1500.

You look amazing! Good work!

Skinnytaste, cooking light and eating well are my favorites. Although most websites such as food.com and allrecipes.com have stats for most foods. You don't have to necessarily eat low cal recipes if you eat smaller portions with lots of veggies and/or salad to round it out.
-
Are you using TDEE method or mfp method to get to 2000? Are you eating 1500 net or gross? 700 is a high burn, not realistic in my opinion unless you are exercising for 2 hours. If you are eating back those calories, you are over eating. The other obvious answer is that you have some logging errors you don't realize and are…

I thought this threat on "naturally slim" people was very interesting. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10428329/what-do-you-think-of-people-who-are-naturally-slim/p1 Though you say you "eat what you want," the quantity and quality of the foods you "want" may be different than others for a host of reasons.…

It is so crazy how frame size and body composition can make a height and weight look so different. I saw someone was 5'7 and 140 wearing US 2. At 5'8 and 140 I was size US 6. I'm still size 6 at 133 but jeans are getting looser. I'm currently running a small deficit and lifting heavy, not trying to lose weight as much as…

Also be aware that many people that count carbs focus on net carbs (carbs minus fiber). So of example, the Flat Out wrap I eat has 16 carbs, but 9 grams of fiber so the net carbs are only 7. I also get a lot of fiber from vegetables and berries.

The most likely answer is that you are eating more than you think you are. Even if you are a "special snowflake" in that your metabolism is lower than average for your weight/height from long term dieting or a medical condition, it is highly highly unlikely that 1500 is your maintenance level calories if you have 100…

I had a bad reaction to depo. Gained weight (wasn't tracking at the time but was the only time in my life I gained so much is such a short period of time without changes in eating habits). I also had major hormonal issues while I was on it (crying uncontrollably for no real reason) that never happened to me before. I never…

I'm 5'8 and currently 133. Aiming for 128-130ish. I think I must have a small frame because I don't look super skinny or anything. I really need to gain more muscle and I have been lifting for a while but I'm probably not eating enough calories to support muscle gains.

Fitness blender is awesome! The couple that run it also seem like really nice people.

I always felt starving on weight watchers too. You can either put your stats into MFP and get your calories and add on 50-75% of your exercise calories OR you can use a TDEE calculator and eat the same number of calories each day (TDEE number includes your exercise calories, so don't add them on top). Make sure you are…

Have to checked to make sure you are not pregnant? With the missed period plus stomach bloat and weight gain it is just something to check out. It sounds like you are inconsistent/on and off dieter. If you track your food consistently without seasonal breaks, you will have success. Same with maintenance , you can't just…
