Not on the floor, you are using one of the pilates reformer machines. You can increase or decrease resistance, and my instructor increased mine a lot since I had been lifting weights. I paid for 10 sessions to try it out, but it was so expensive so now just stick with lifting. However, my sister does it 2-3 times a week as…

What do I eat? The foods I like, which change all the time. If you like to cook, try out skinny taste, cooking light or other websites that give nutritional information. I get to eat the foods I love that are made with fewer calories. I also like to eat lots of vegetables. You can eat a huge plate of veggies for less than…

Have you ever tried a pilates reformer class? Even after a few years of lifting heavy weights, it kicked my butt. However, mat pilates only really works my abs, not enough resistance on arms or legs if you have been lifting weights.

Everyone has days that they over eat. However, it is best to log it instead of trying to ignore it. Putting it down and seeing just how many calories you overate can be eye opening. Instead of a way to "treat" yourself or something "you deserve," the binge looks more like you are hurting yourself.

You lose weight by eating less calories than your burn. Pilates, weight lifting, cardio all add to the burn part of the equation and are good for you health and maintaining muscle mass. However, the biggest factor is diet. You can't out train a bad diet. An intense hour of pilates may burn 400 calories say. However, you…

Okay just to clear something up, 3,500 calories burned from your fitbit is all the calories you burned in a day, not just your exercise. The only way you have a 7,000 calorie deficit those two days is if you ingested zero calories. If you ate, say, 2,000 calories, you had a 1,500 calories deficit for the day. Don't worry…

It has been 4 days. Weight will fluctuate up and down whether you are dieting or not. Your previous 172 may have been a low day, and now it is a normal day. You need to track weight trends over weeks/months, not days. Keep at it and it will keep going down.

Check out the recipes and food/nutrition forum for some ideas as well. I like eggs for breakfast. The protein keeps me full. I pair it with a small amount of oatmeal, Fiber One cereal, etc., something with fiber. Lunch is all over the map, but I either eat leftovers from dinner, a big salad with protein, avocado, veggies,…

I'm in TX and 100 degrees with 100% humidity is not good running weather. Its like your walking in a sauna. I like to do cardio while watching a show/movie on my iPad. Makes the time go by quicker.

So interesting… 5'8 132 lbs US 6/28 in jeans, size 4 in dresses, S in tops.

Why add an exercise you hate? Just curious. Running doesn't have any magical weight loss powers. It helps burn calories, but it could also make you grumpy/burned out if you hate doing it. There are tons of ways to burn calories, find one that you enjoy.

I took a quick look at your diary. There are a lot of days where you eat out for one or two meals. Nothing wrong with that, but just realize that it is hard to control your calories that way. The guy/gal at Subway, Panera, etc. are not measuring or weighing anything, and the calorie counts are just an estimate that can…

What she said. Check out this post for how to log accurately. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1 The last few pounds are a pain in the *kitten* to lose, so don't get discouraged.

You should try to make contact with someone locally to help continue with your treatment. I ran your numbers on a TDEE calculator. Your BMR is 1513, so you are eating less than your BMR each day. Not good. Your TDEE is 2346-2611, depending on whether your exercise is moderate or strenuous. So a 20% cut is 1877-2081 (again…

Fitness blender is great, keep using that if you enjoy it. As far as diet goes, counting calories is enough to lose weight. But you have to count them accurately. Check out this link for info on logging: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1 You don't need to go…

You can still lose weight with just calorie counting. If you just recently had a baby, you may still have some of relaxin hormone in your system from pregnancy which makes your ligaments more relaxed. This means it can be easier to get injured. If you are 6 weeks or less postpartum just wait on exercise besides walking for…

First, those breath tests are not 100% accurate. I would track a few months of actual results to figure out what your TDEE is, not a breath test. Second, do you still work with a doctor or team in your recovery? They may be able to help you with appropriate calories. We don't know your height, weight, age, activity level…

Hip thrusts Because I know they work.

I lose weight on 1800 as a 5'8 female at a healthy weight. You need to raise your calories or you are in danger of losing some of the muscle you have been working for. Also, 2.5 hours in the gym is overkill, and can do more harm than good. Your muscles grow in recovery, not by pounding them to death daily.

First congratulations on your loss so far. Second, do you track these cheat days or no? My guess is the sodium and extra calories are masking/reversing some of your weight loss. Instead of "cheating" once a week and going hog wild on foods you are missing, try incorporating some of your favorite foods through out the week.…

Please seek professional help. I have seen this screen name previously asking similar questions, and she has said she is in recovery. Please please please stop restricting and over exercising and seek some help.

Wow so low calorie and low sugar. I will have to check it out.

I like either a big salad with protein, veggies, avocado or nuts etc. or a smaller salad and soup.

If you don't have runny egg yolk on the plate, what do you dip your bacon in??? But seriously, I would eat eggs how you like them and can fit it into your calories and macros. I eat two whole eggs every morning pretty much. The studies on the health benefits or dangers of whole eggs are all over the map, but I think the…

Congratulations on your weight loss so far that is a big accomplishment! Honestly Jillian Michaels workouts are not enough resistance training to use for adding muscle/recomp. I haven't used that particular program but I have enough of her DVDs to get the jist. You need to lift heavier weights. Joining a gym would be…

You are eating more than 1200 calories. Are you using a scale and weighing all of your foods? Or are you eyeballing? Are you going out to eat several days a week and guesstimating? Track all your foods with a scale and add back 50% of your exercising calories. Thats all you need to do. BTW, doing a bicep curl with a 2 lb…

I was thinking the same thing - that is a difficult bf % to reach for a woman and would be hard to maintain without possibly causing hormonal issues. Fitness competitors only reach low body fat level for a few days or a week at a time, peak for the show, then purposefully gain some back in between shows. That is because it…

I try to enjoy myself and eat what I want and drink lots of alcohol  However, I do always go to the gym to lift weight and generally try to stay active. I also don't gorge myself to the point of feeling sick because that feels awful. In general I try to "get my money's worth" which means I eat the seafood, steak,…

Listen to your doctor on this one. If you gain only 15 pounds, that is just the baby, placenta and fluid. It is gone when you give birth. A few extra pounds lost during the pregnancy is not going to get you so far ahead of the game to make it worth it. Eating a maintenance instead of adding extra calories is a good idea,…

How many carbs and where they come from doesn't matter all that much for weight loss as long as you are in a calorie deficit. However, vegetables are obviously something you want to include in your diet to receive micronutrients and fiber, and they can help you feel full which can help you stay in a deficit. Many people…
