Diet breaks and refeeds are generally needed for physiological reasons when you get leaner and are getting down to low body fat percentages. Your hormones start fighting against the dieting process and it makes it hard to stay in a deficit with constant hunger and lower metabolic rate. Refeeds and diet breaks can help…

Ok got it. I thought you were saying the comments regarding naturally thin people reminded you of anorexics. Binge eating in secret is just another form of disordered eating, but to the outside world they appear to be eating normally.
-
I don't think it is fair to compare "naturally thin" people with people suffering from an eating disorder. I would think "naturally thin" people generally have normalized eating habits and don't purposefully eat in front of others to hide anything. If I eat a big meal at a restaurant, I am naturally not as hungry for the…

I always said I could "eat whatever I want" and would eat what to ME was a huge portion of pizza, Oreos, etc. I would be stuffed and feel horrible. However, if I eat donuts, I eat one and maybe a bite of another until I feel full and the sweetness is sickening. If I eat pizza with all the toppings, I feel stuffed after 3…

Agreed with the post above. You can't let your mood each day be dictated by the scale. Some days it will be up and some days it will be down. You can't go on a binge each time it arbitrarily goes up because you are upset, you will never get results if you binge often enough to undo your deficit from the days before. Just…

Those scales are pretty inaccurate btw. My home scale showed my bf % as 7% lower than a Bod Pod.

You need to understand that your weight is composed of many things other than fat and muscle. The number that fluctuates the most is water. Eating a high sodium meal, drinking a lot of water, not pooping the day before, being dehydrated, time of the month, etc. can all make your weight fluctuated several pounds in one day.…

I am most hungry towards the end of the day so tend to back load my calories and have a 500 calorie dinner and a bigger snack in afternoon and evening. It is hard for me to sleep if I am hungry so I like to eat my calories later in the day.

This is pretty much me too. I always thought I was "naturally" thin person until I started using mfp and the TDEE method and realized my TDEE was right on track with estimates. I grew up on junk food and lots of it but was skinny because I played sports and practiced several hours a day. I also have always been attune to a…

I am eating around 120 grams of protein too, I get several 3/4 c servings a day plus a protein shake. 21 day fix categorizes starchy vegetables as a carb. It is not a low carb diet, I think I got 135 carbs when I tracked a day on mfp. It is based on a 40c/30p/30f macro ratio. Not sure if you actually looked into it or not…

I just started the 21 day fix meal plan (doing my own exercise) a few days ago. I have used a scale the last 2 years on and off it is the most accurate by far, but I just wanted to try something different. It is helping me learn appropriate serving sizes of carbs, protein, veg and made me realize I was not eating enough…

Minimum I try to reach is 100g, but usually is closer to 120. I have one protein shake a day to add 25g, and the rest is from eggs, meat, greek yogurt, etc. It helps me feel full and hopefully helps me retain muscle while losing + lifting.

I use optimum nutrition 100% whey in chocolate pretty much every day. Dissolves easily and tastes good. I usually make a simple smoothie with frozen berries and unsweetened almond milk to get in a serving of fruit.

Others have mentioned this, but we make a lot of taco meat (turkey or beef) and eat it with rice, beans, veggies or on taco salad. I also make LOTS of different kinds of meatballs. Italian turkey meatballs over zoodles, asian chicken meatballs over brown rice, lamb greek meatballs with cucumber, tomato and feta salad. If…

1100 calories? That is below even the lowest healthy level for women. You don't HAVE to lose 20 lbs in 2 months. Try making your goal a little more realistic and lose at a slower pace but in a more sustainable way. If you put your calories too low when you don't have a lot to lose, you end up losing a lot of muscle weight…

Hi I would like to join! I'm 5'8 and currently around 137. I lost 10 lbs a couple years ago and got stuck at around 135. I have maintained 135 easily for over a year, then recently fell off the wagon, stopped working out or caring what I was eating for a few months. I only gained a couple pounds but I am out of shape. Even…

The problem with brazilian bbq is that it is all you can eat and everyone around you will be eating tons of meat. You have to stick to your portion even though it will be difficult. Those places usually have great salad bars, so get a huge plate of salad with veggies so that your plate is full and a normal sized portion of…

I really commend you for helping your brother, but as others have said it is not going to do much if your parents won't parent him. You will not always be there to prepare his food and stay on your parents' case. The fact that they allow him to just sit on his X box all day is really sad. Nothing is going to change until…

You are such a bad a**!! Congrats to you! You inspire us all!

You look amazing! What a transformation. You have beautiful eyes btw!

Agreed with those above. My body is at a similar place as your right now. I have been recomping for a while and initially noticed some muscle gains/fat loss but that has been stalled out for a long time. So I am back to cutting 5-10 more lbs, then recomp for a while, then bulk.

I also use recipe builder for homemade foods. You just have to do it once for each recipe and then it is saved in your account. Most people cook only 20 or so different recipes on a regular basis so it doesn't take long to have all your recipes saved.

After a few months of weighing food I got pretty good at eyeballing. I still weigh calorie dense foods many times. Once I hit my initial weight goal I didn't weigh food at all and was able to maintain with eyeballing and healthy choices. So weighing food is not necessarily something you have to do forever. But it will be…

Eating zero calories today will set you up for a binge tomorrow. Today listen to your hunger cues and get back to usual plan once you are hungry enough to eat. Do not over exercise or over restrict your food to make up for the binge. And the talk of laxatives is concerning. Just get back on track and remember how crappy…

Do not go for the diet pills! It is a bit harder after having a baby because you are tired and constantly caring for others instead of yourself. What I found helpful was prepping food ahead of time while the baby is napping or my husband watching so that when it is time to eat I just need to pop something in the microwave.…

I tried it for a while a few years ago and I did lose some weight but it felt very restrictive. There was A LOT of cooking required and it was quite expensive to buy all meat. For me personally, it was too hard to stick to long term. I found it hard to get enough carbs without grains and would feel faint during workouts,…

Where do you live that produce was $5? That is insane. Cabbage, carrots, onions, broccoli, celery can all be had under a $1 where I live.

If you were starving yourself for a short period of time, you lost fat but also lost water weight and weight of food in your system. Once you started eating normally again, the lost water weight and heft in your bowels returned. Just like you may lose 5 lbs when you have a stomach virus but gain 3 lbs of that back once you…

Wow what a transformation! You look 15 years younger, seriously. And the food looks gorgeous. Its so much easier to lose weight if you enjoy the food you are eating.

OP I actually love the way you handled this. Public shaming is a great motivator. I hope your husband gets off his butt and keeps helping you. My husband is sadly not too far off from yours (never wants to help with housework, pretty selfish) but without the anger issues. He grew up spoiled with zero chores and his mom did…
