  • Definitely try increasing the amount of fiber you eat. And by that, I mean real, natural fiber. Try not to depend on bars and cereals that claim to have 50% DV of fiber; I'm no expert, but it's generally best to get things in as natural a state as possible. My diet is fairly high in fiber, and I have no problems -- this…
  • Oatmeal with frozen mixed berries tossed in -- can't start my day without it! Fresh fruit -- apples and bananas, the occasional mango. Almond Dream Lil' Dreamers -- little vanilla flavored ice cream sandwiches made with almond milk ... so yummy! Peanut butter -- the peanuts-only, organic stuff ... will sometimes just walk…
  • Oh yay! I'm SO happy for you! That's my situation as well -- never have really been below a 14, even in middle school. I can only imagine the thrill of getting into those 10's! Can't wait for that to happen to me, too. :flowerforyou:
  • I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've been taking a weekly belly dance class from a local instructor (our city has a really great belly dance community) and I just love it! Ours is usually a 90-minute class, where we start off with core-building pilates, muscle isolation, and warm-ups, then move into the dancing. I can't recommend…
  • I'm vegan and my food diary is public, but I've been VERY bad about tracking for the past month. I'm trying to get back on the wagon, though. Feel free to add me if you'd like to check in. I also don't mind checking out what others are doing as well, for inspiration. Kudos to you for your first year! I'm at just over a…
  • I like getting a Papa Murphy's pizza, covered in veggies, with no cheese. There are so many delicious flavors that I don't miss the cheese at all. It's yummy!
  • I started somewhere around 210-215 and I posted before/during pics a little while back, when I was at 167. The link is in my signature.
  • 2 years -- awesome! I just passed my 1-year anniversary on January 3rd. :flowerforyou: And AMAZING job on the 184 lbs lost! That's a whole person!
  • I so agree! If I don't start my day with oatmeal, things usually don't go very well. I do 1/2 cup of oats with 1 cup of water for 2 minutes, then toss in 1 cup of frozen blueberries or mixed berries from Costco. It's only 220 calories and I haven't gotten sick of it yet! At some point I'll try new combinations, but I love…
  • I did it! I'm comfortably in a size 12! To be fair, there were some size 12 jeans that I tried on, which didn't fit, so I have work to do to be solidly in the size 12 category, but the ones I'm wearing now are very comfortable and oh so cute!
  • Congrats! I can't wait to get in the single digits -- period! :flowerforyou:
  • I'll be trying on a size 12 tonight, when we go to get my husband some new pants. Here's hoping!
  • What a difference 21 lbs makes! Great job on your loss so far and keep up the great work! Never thought of "fluffy" ... I think that's going to be my new favorite word! I usually say "squishy" but I hate that word. Fluffy it is!
  • My name is Trish but a friend made up Trishkit when we were in middle school. I've always liked it. My only gripe ... some people think it's like the cracker. No, that's Triscuit. Totally different, thanks.
  • You look great, and almost halfway to your goal! Keep up the great work!
  • I hear you! I definitely struggle with self control. Tracking my food is pretty much the only way I can successfully lose weight. If I try to just estimate and track in my head, it's a no-go; in almost every instance, I end up over-eating. I'm hoping that by the time I reach my goal weight, I'll have acquired the skill of…
  • Welcome! This is a super supportive place. Got a question, there's almost always someone with an answer, or at least an opinion. Take it one pound (or hey, even two!) at a time, and those 40 lbs will be gone before you know it! Oh, and take "before" pictures. They're really handy when you feel like you're not seeing a…
  • You look incredible! Keep up the amazing work!
  • I eat back some, but usually not all. I try to really listen to my body and pay attention to what it needs after a good, hard workout. I work out in the evening, so I find it hard to eat back 500-600 calories a couple of hours before I go to bed. But I usually manage to eat back a couple hundred calories.
  • Same here! My husband won't touch them. That's okay -- more for me! Nom nom.
  • These are so good!
  • You look wonderful! Great job and keep up the great work!
  • I suppose I should have clarified. Not three months. In three months it's been about 20 lbs. Initially, a couple of years ago I lost 34 lbs, then gained some back, and now I've lost that again and am working on the remaining amount. So on MFP it's been about 20 lbs, but I need to keep my total number visible for myself, so…
  • You look incredible! Amazing job! You are most definitely an inspiration! And thanks for the comment on my "before/during" post! :flowerforyou:
  • To be honest, I feel like if you're having ANY second thoughts about having the surgery, you might want to put it off. That's a serious thing and I know I wouldn't want to go into it not feeling comfortable about the decision. As far as a success story, well ... I just posted my before/during photos here:…
  • Well done! I have a hard time going to "normal" grocery stores and seeing what people have piled in their cart. It depresses me to no end, and I wish there was some way I could help them see that there's something better! We shop at our local food co-op and mostly stick to the perimeter, with occasional stuff from the…
  • I think about how far I've come and how I NEVER want to go back there again. That's not a choice, for me. I think about the non-scale victories I've had and how I want to keep having more, and think about what my next NSV might be. I think about how amazing it is that I could possibly be under 150 lbs by my 24th birthday…
  • You look absolutely amazing! Keep up the great work!
  • Thank you for the wonderful comments, everyone!
  • I love you, Casey, and I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandpa Vic. Right now is your time to grieve so don't worry too much about tracking things. You WILL get back on track when you're ready, and I WILL be here to kick you in the butt when the time is right. Right now, focus on you and your family. My suggestion? Go…
