  • Something else I just thought of...this past week we went away for 5 days to see family from out of state. I decided to destress a little and I didn't exercise for those 5 days. I ate over my alloted calories because of Christmas party and eating food I couldn't weigh and that I wasn't cooking. Still logged as best as I…
  • @heybales -thanks I wasn't sure what exactly was going on. I'll keep at it and increase to 2860 and see what happens. Holy moly 2860!!!!!
  • Ok, understand. I weigh everyday only so I can see if small/big changes in scale. I wish I could help you more.
  • Do you really think it's the night time snack though? Have all your gains been quick/big? Like overnight?
  • I feel your frustration. All my gains have been quick overnight gains and my weight just keeps getting higher and I don't know what to do either. I feel like I should have found my tdee by now. I've been following your post bc you and I are experiencing the same things it seems. Wishing you the best of luck!
  • This whole finding my TDEE has taken A LOT longer than anticipated because I was planning on doing a cut at the new year but that apparently is not going to happen now. Lol The Scooby calculator estimated my TDEE to be at about 2750 so that's why I am a little hesitant because I'm eating about that now and then increasing…
  • I know the quick gained weight is not actual fat, most likely it's water but all the gains I've made have been big, quick changes in the scale not small, slow changes if that makes sense. I'm already eating at 2760 cal and imagining going up another 250 cal is bittersweet!
  • It's so aggravating whenever it cuts your entire post off!! anyway I started trying to find my Tdee the beginning of October by increasing 250 about every two weeks. there was some carb overload I guess you could call it which was through eating pizza and the next day I was up 1 to 2 pounds. I didn't panic I figured there…
  • That's what I'm doing now...maintenance. If I wouldn't be I would be a mess, mentally and emotionally with eating. I would be binging like there's no tomorrow, but being at maintenance has kept me in check even with all these parties. Thank goodness!
  • Oh yeah, I can certainly see why you would think that. I didn't realize it was week 9 for you with cutting! I too would be thinking the same. An inch lost is good. I can't really say much because I'm only trying to find my tdee right now so I have a ways to go. However, hang in there!
  • Why do you say that you didn't stay at reset long enough?
  • @skinny4me2be - still finding my tdee. One more week of eating at 2700!!!!! It's crazy high. Hoping to cut at the new year, but if I keep trying to find tdee and need to eat there before cutting it might not happen in January.
  • @skinny4me2be - it does suck...BIG time. However, I have noticed I don't really miss the pasta and bread like I thought I would. I still have it and I most certainly enjoy it, but I guess you could say the cravings have decreased tremendously. Now I need to work on my sugar intake. I've come a long a way with it too, but…
  • Kickboxdiva- carbs kill me!!! On the scale that is. I do better also with "lower" carbs. Not saying I eat lower carbs as my "diet." I just watch to make sure I don't go overboard. I had pizza this past Sunday night, weighted next morning and up two lbs. had pasta last night and up another lb. I'm within calories and…
  • Yay for you. Glad to hear you're feeling great!! Congrats!!!
  • Aww, I know what you mean! It's tough to figure this stuff out. Who would have thought that there is so much that goes into losing weight? Ahhhhh!!!!!! Hang in there. We will do this together
  • I don't know what I was looking at!!! Lol maybe I should have said its decreasing! This tdee thing drives me batty some days....like you said, onward we go!
  • Should you stay at 2200 for another week or so to see what happens? I know what ya mean when you said it's hard to find tdee when you 'gain water.' I'm kinda having the same problem.
  • Every two weeks you drop at least a pound. That seems great! I would be ecstatic with that
  • Saranharm-hope everything is ok.
  • Heybales- you are right, that's where the "stress weight" is, the midriff area. Like I mentioned, I was measuring but felt i wasn't accurate enough so stopped. Took pictures and couldn't notice anything here either, so that's when the stress hits.
  • Thanks everyone! I do need to ditch the scale, but need it now as I'm trying to find my true tdee. So I'm still upping calories at this point. Kmac- how's the cut going? See any results? Stress is playing a part also...so that's certainly not helping. I'm considering taking a break from logging on here as I tend to get a…
  • Thanks ladies! Retirehappy- I wish I could see the change and decrease in clothes sizes, but it's not happening. I know everyone feels this way at some point in their journey and more than once, lol. I guess I'm ready for January because that's when I plan to cut (if all goes well until then) I want to start seeing some…
  • Glad I'm not alone. There is so much info, theories, opinions, research etc about weight loss. So much to take into consideration: tdee, BMR, calories in/out, exercise burns...list continues. I try not to stress about it, but I'm human and I do! I agree that I also have noticed those hunger cues better and more 'normal'…
  • If you burn let's say 250 calories on your exercise then you eat that 250 in food later
  • I am excited to end the program I'm doing now to focus primarily on strength training!!
  • Thanks crewbprice, I will be adding that to my other resources!!!
  • It's a nice quick way to see how everyone is doing on here
  • It's nice to see updates altogether like this
