custard, that is all.

generally speaking one large mass produced egg, home grown chickens usually lay fattier eggs, has 60 cal and 4g of fat. 2 eggs with a little milk scrambled in butter, or my favorite bacon fat yum, your talking about 140 10g of fat give or take. trow in a slice of toast with a little butter on it and a small bowl of fruit…

if done properly then generally speaking you'll soak up about 1 tsp of the oil per 4oz of food. the more fat you use the less your going to soak up, the better you maintain the heat the less you'll soak up. home deep frying is way better than fast food because fast food is mostly overcooked and once the food is overcooked…

apples and gorgonzola mmmm

I really wouldn't worry about it. as long as you have two healthy kidneys all the sodium you could eat isn't going to do any damage.

the types of things I like to keep on hand and as long as I have them its a lot easier to cook from home. IQF chicken breasts IQF some type of fish IQF fruit mix (smoothies) some kind of red meat milk 1-3 fruit juices dannon all natural yogurt summer squash broccoli onions celery garlic potatoes bread yeast chedder cheese…

this may sound odd but do you take a fiber supplement? if so stop taking it immediately. try to reduce your fiber intake in general, as well as your fat intake, and try to get some liquid nutrition. liquid meal replacers, fruit juices, v8 juice, light broth or tomato based soups, that sort of thing.

I buy thick preferably bone on, and marinate them in hevily salted nd sugared apple cidar vinager for about an hour. Then sear them in a cast iron skillet. Sometimes ill braise them in apple cidar with some grilled onions on top andd a whole lot of pepper.

This is going to sound a bit odd but those low calorie low carb beers are probably the worst you can drink, in more than one way. Try some a bit stronger. A full bodied dinner beer or a dry session beer, seara nevada is a personal favorite of mine. these stronger beers have more than empty calories and leave you with a…

it gets even harder when you pay your way through working 45-50 hours a week to ungodly hours of the morning working in a fast food restaurant.

to some extent you can blame the food that you choose to eat. the human body is an amazing machine that is capable of adjusting itself to just about any circumstances, but one thing it cannot adjust to os empty calories. we need more than just raw energy to survive. the problem is we have adopted food staples that are high…

There is one big issue with food lables and corn sugar. Just because it says high fructose corn syrup doesn't mean it has been chemicly alterd. Corn syrup is a vital part in thee candy making process for example, its also used in a lot of breads to enhance the rise. Refined dextrose is also used in a lot of chocolat making…

the body needs fat and cholesterol in order to process protein. that is why the body produces cholesterol in the first place. you can have severe anima if your blood cholesterol is too low. there are some recent studies that suggest that what is considered the norm is too low, because it is a hairline just a little below…

it is absolutely vital for the health, well being, and life of dairy cows that they be milked. they have been bread to such an extent that they produce ten times more milk than the calf could ever need. for this reason among others they are completely dependent on those that care for them. we need to take responsibility…

honestly whole wheat pasta is purely a marketing ploy to get health conscious people to spend more on the same product. for anything that requires a high level of gluten, like pasta or yeast bread adding the whole wheat flour forces a more complicated manufacturing process, because the germ literally cuts the gluten. a lot…

just a little addition to what I said earlier. I do understand the appeal of almond milk, I personally just can't stand the taste. it has similar body to whole milk without the 8g of fat. I just drink so little milk that the fat doesn't bother me. plus I've found that if I put whole milk or even half and half on my cereal…

I agree 100% I've found that the more I cook from scratch the better I feel, most of the time. I also cant stand the taste of milk substitutes, there biter, and have a certain twang to them, and anything made from soy just tears through my stomach in large amounts. I also don't like the texture of reduced fat milk, I don't…

if your that cold in the winter time, eat a little bit more. it requires a tremendous amount of energy for the body to generate enough heat to keep warm. from my experience as an outdoorsman you generally need to eat about 30% more in the winter than you do in the summer, fats in particular. increase your calories by at…

even if you could, why the hell would you? it's the simple pleasures that make life worth living, and eating food is the most vital pleasure of them all.

I don't have kids yet, and I may change my mind when I do, but I intend to do exactly what my my parents did. skip the baby food, if the fist thing in your mouth is bland garbage than thats all you'll have a taste for. I will keep a broad and healthy diet for myself, and feed my kids off my plate. your kids will eat…

it all comes down to balance. your diet has to reflect activity. when I was growing up we ate a lot of red meat, simple carbs, butter, whole milk, to this day I still won't drink anything less. at the same time I also had a taste for all sorts of fruits and vegetables, we hardly ever had sodas, or even refined sugar. the…

don't judge a food by its calorie content. your talking about some very compact nutrition here, a few bites is all you need for a midday pickup much better than a cup of coffee. the most important thing with compact nutrition, hummus, nuts, dried fruit, plumb pudding, whatever, limit the portion a dab will do ya.

miralax!!! not a laxative its a stool softener it pushes water into the colon to rehydrate it. this stuff is a godsend. unfortunately I still haven't figured out how to get rid of the gas.

if you are really serious about cooking one salt is not enough. personally I don't touch table salt, I don't know if its the anti clumping agents or the iodine or just the refinement process but when I cook with it something is just off. I keep three different salts in my kitchen. my main all purpose cooking salt is corse…

from looking at a lot of the other posts here I can see I have a different philosophy when it comes to diet. I am not a nutritionist nor do I claim to be. I am a cook, I am a culinary student, and I have more than one digestive disorder. I have always had a strong passion for food, and I have done a lot of research on the…

heavy processing changes the flavor texture and color of a lot of foods, more then that they also tend to remove a lot of nutrients from the original ingredients. most food additives do one of three things: extends shelf life, no briner there. adds nutrient back that were lost in processing. to make the food taste like it…

we have a similar problem, she is trying to loose weight, I'm trying to stop loosing weight. since I do most of the cooking and my diet is of the low-fat type it usually works out that I just eat twice as much of the same food, altho there have been a few arguments about how much oil I use. the big issue now is that I hate…

fruit or granola for fiber, cheese for fat. the fiber fills you up the fat keeps you full. apples and blue cheese are my favorite after class snack.
