Weight loss can be super slow. If you are someone who gets discouraged every time your weight fluctuates up, maybe try to weigh yourself less. Once a week, or even once a month. The important thing is to realize WHY you want to lose weight. Are you trying to be healthier, more active, more fit? Or are you just trying to…

You have every right to be incredibly proud of yourself! Thanks for helping inspire me!

If you want to be able to eat more, try adding exercise. That allows you to consume more calories and still stay at the same net intake. MFP gives me 1500 calories but I usually go over by 100-250, so I just make sure I get in a walk 5 days a week and use my elliptical 3x a week. That keeps me at my weekly goal.

I agree with the advice. Find something you love and start with small goals. If the idea of two hours in the gym fills you with dread, maybe start with a short walk. Or if you like swimming try laps or water aerobics. If you prefer at home exercise, maybe check some videos out from the library to find something you like.…

Great job! I haven't had my first NSV yet so it is nice to see some early progress for someone else!

WOW! I hope I can make a fraction of your progress. LOVE your attitude. :)

Way to go! All the small steps count.

I'm working on getting there, too. I am currently at 207.6 and trying so hard to get down!!

I know I'm going to have a hard time if I'm at home and not doing anything. What helps me is staying active and busy. I also eat at slightly under my calorie goals Monday to Friday to bank some wiggle room for the weekends, when I know I will eat more junk. That way even if I eat junk I am not blowing my week. It also…

You can add me too. I'm turning 30 in a few months and I am a single mother with a two year old boy. I'm trying hard to lose about 70 lbs and it is tough to find time between work and the kiddo. I've found it especially hard because I used to work out a gym, but I can't do that anymore because I can't afford it (kids cost…

Ugh I have a problem with weekends, too. I am slowly getting better. What works for me is to get out of the house. I am making a point to schedule an active time - a walk, going to the park with my son, wandering the mall, etc as part of my day in addition to working out longer and harder on the weekend. I think I need to…

20 lbs is absolutely a success!! I'm only down 7 lbs and I'm super proud of myself. Every little bit counts and what counts is that you are making efforts and going in the right direction. Keep it up and be proud!!

Set small goals. You want to have goals that are realistic and doable. Maybe at first your goal is to eat three times a day and exercise 5 min. Maybe then you go up to eat three times a day and stay in your calorie count. Then up the exercise. Build on your successes by raising the bar. Don't set the bar too high at first…

I stopped driving to the park and ride and instead I am walking. I now walk about 80-90 minutes round-trip to work and my goal is to get on my elliptical for at least 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. Hopefully if I do all that and watch my food choices I can drop 10-12 pounds by Thanksgiving! It's slow going though. I started…

I'm in! I'm currently at 211 and my goal is under 200 by Thanksgiving. I got really serious about my weight loss two weeks ago and started off with a two pound loss, then as I upped the exercise I gained back a pound. I'm hoping the weight will start to drop off again soon as I'm doing everything right (staying a little…

My son is two and loves to run in the park. We'll run for about one minute and then I have to stop because I'm out of breath. I want to be able to play with him! I also want to take him swimming without being ashamed of myself in a swimsuit. I am 20lbs heavier than my pregnancy weight and have almost no pictures of myself…
