  • It does get easier. And it will never get any harder than week 1.When I started C25K, around week 4 I looked ahead and it seemed crazy to me what the chart wanted me to do in week 7. But it turns out that the effort it takes for your body to progress from week 6 to week 7 is less than the huge effort it took to start week…

  • One of those tuna fish vacuum packs -- you can get a garden salad (no dressing) at the fast food place & mix in your tuna pack. Regular fruit is good for snacking: apples, bananas, grapes- just remember to pack some wipes.

  • Roast everything. Carrots, brussel sprouts, peppers, tomato wedges, broccoli w/garlic, Potatos with sliced apples. Spagetti squash. Grilling everything is also good too - corn on the cob, squash, eggplant. You can spray everything with olive oil and sprinkle w/Mrs Dash -- or just throw some fresh sliced garlic on…

  • If you elope, you can choose to have the big reception at a later date. No need to get re-married once you're married. If you want a big wedding ceremony, then don't elope. No double-dipping. But the reception -- that can happen whenever and can be hosted by you & partner, or by all parents, or by your friends -- who ever…
  • $0. I've got the 30DS DVD, a running route of 1mile in my neighborhood blocked on on mapmyrun.com and my company has a 'gym' that has two treadmills, a bunch of barbells and a weekly aerobics class.
  • As a result of this discussion I am going to take some bags food over to the Food Pantry this week. You can't criticize and then not try to help fix the problem (even if it's just a drop in the bucket).
  • “Class never runs scared. It is sure-footed and confident, and it can handle whatever comes along. Class has a sense of humor. It knows that a good laugh is the best lubricant for oiling the machinery of human relations. Class never makes excuses. It takes its lumps and learns from mistakes. Class is comfortable in its own…
  • Sweet potato rolls, tempura rolls, smoked eel, shrimp, smoked salmon, crabstick -- all are cooked Many find the salmon & tuna as easy starter sushi. Quality can make a difference in taste, so just like with steaks, restaurant quality is different from supermarket. There are a lot of different types of sushi, just like…

  • Get rid of your chair & raise your monitor/desk -- and work standing up. Several in my building do so (some in cubicles, some in offices). Did the first person feel silly? Perhaps, but I don't know who the first person was, it caught on so well and is no big deal now.

  • A lb of muscle weighs the same as a 1lb of fat -- 1 lb. But 1 lb of fat takes up more space than 1lb of muscle. That is why you should take measurements of yourself and take front & back pictures -- because the scale does not accurately show the changes made by exercise.

  • 1. Go to bed early. 2. Work out at home (no wasting sleep time commuting to gym) 3. Do a short workout (30DS - it takes 24 minutes) . I do this 3x a week and sometimes go running 1-2 times a week (usually on Sun morning around 9-10, or Thurs evening after work)
  • I tapered off on my exercising (but not on my eating) and began to re-gain weight. I watched as the the scale began to slowly go up, and felt bad about it. But I didn't have the same energy or eagerness to exercise as I did when I orignally lost it. Then I realized I was being a dope, because if I waited for that…

  • I took the bottom of one of my older workoutshirts, cut it off and sewed to the bottom of another shirt. It looks like a layered shirt & through luck, matches my workout pants. The real question is why don't they make workout t's in longer lengths? I can find long workout tanks, but not t's. I can't be the only one who…
  • Thrift store. Turns out most of my 'newish' clothes are a lot nicer than my existing wardrobe - I didn't like shopping when nothing looked/fit right. Thrift shop allowed me to replace a lot of baggy stuff with nicer label stuff that fit! Plus when I was still losing, it let me buy stuff on the cheap, and after 2-3 weeks I…
  • The best answer to this is "Thank you, I have lost weight and I feel great ! How are YOU doing?" This puts the focus back on them and their health, and since they introduced the topic, they should have the spotlight.
  • I see nothing wrong with wanting support to be from either Type A or Type B. I only have issues with people who THINK they are Type B, but really are Type C - negative criticism and punishing or dismissive.
  • You can grow potatoes in big plastic tubs. Pretty much anything actually -- I'm getting blueberry bushes & pepper plants for my deck (zone 6) -- mini ones designed for containers. And nastursiums (which you can put in salads) and lettuce. I don't grow tomatos or zuchinni because I can get those from neighbors/workmates who…

[Which is why you should take pictures] (2) lost a lot of back fat (don't forget to take back pictures) (3) lost visceral fat (4) lost neck fat. (5) lost a thin layer of fat from all over your body. If you haven't takend pictures and measurements - do so! There are…
