  • I do know how you feel. I had an injury that had me in severe pain for almost 6 months. I still had to work and even at 32 hours a week it was all the energy I had to give. Everything suffered, especially my kids. I was so down about not even able to keep up with my kids (I am normally a very active person) I just gave up.…
  • You can exercise and be overweight. Plenty of people are. You can not exercise and be thin. I have many friends who do this. I like to be fit and healthy with some muscle definition and be toned. Its all about the look you are going for and how healthy you want your body to be.
  • bump. This looks easier than some of the other recipes I have tried
  • I haven't read a Stephen King or seen a movie in a while, but I do remember not being able to get through The Tommyknockers. I believe that's the one with the little gremlin. I just couldn't get into it and it's one of the few books I didn't finish.
  • I guess I know too many diabetics and sugar is sugar when it comes to their numbers. Too much fruit is just as bad as too much regular sugar. Sure, fruit is healthier and has vitamins but the body seems to process it the same. No scientific articles to link here (although its the internet and if I took 10 minutes I would…
  • I could eat breakfast food all day. I so look forward to eating breakfast and usually wake up hungry! I am not a huge eating out person but I do love to eat out for breakfast! I feel I eat a pretty decent breakfast, try to get a good amount of protein to last me until lunch but when I do eat out I go for the gold! Well I…
  • Do you have a tablet or something you can download the Kindle app on? I received a book from Amazon but I am sure you could find a hard copy somewhere, too. The book is called Skinny Thinking. It was free at the time so I thought I would humor it. This book has helped me more than anything I have tried with curbing my…
  • I always think its sounds condescending. Many people I know only say it when they are not happy with that person so whenever I hear someone use it I feel trouble brewing.
  • I would rather lose inches than scale weight any day. No one sees the number on the scale anyway. And someone who is muscular and fit and weighs 180 looks better than someone of same height/gender who is 180 but flabby. And even if you are over your healthy BMI range, if its muscle but you have low fat percentage, that is…
  • I struggle with this, too. I remind myself I lose weight in the kitchen, I get fit in the gym. I over exercise. Its easy for me to exercise than to not do it and I tend to think if this is good, then more would be better. But it always backfires on me. I have been learning to relax a bit more. It has helped me in many ways…
  • Its a love/hate relationship. I love how I feel afterwards and I love running in events but I despise running on treadmills so if its that cold out, thats when I take a break from running. Some days I have to really talk myself into running around the neighborhood or running just a little longer, though.
  • That is a great mindset to have about worrying less about scale weight and more about inches. In the past I had lost 30 pounds but remained the same clothing size. My goal is clothing size and Ill take whatever number the scale gives me. Its such a terrible judgement of what the "weight" is. I like to think of it as the…
  • Don't try, just do it! Don't give yourself an option of not doing it. Its like brushing your teeth. You are just going to do it. :flowerforyou:
  • I make a big batch of soups and other freezer friendly meals then weigh them into separate containers so I can then freeze them. I use the recipe builder then have a freezer full of my own frozen meals ready to go. Yes, it can take time and while it is easy, its not fast the first time but for me its worth the extra…
  • I doubt I will ever be able to give logging for good. As I get older and as I change my workouts I will always have different calorie goals. My workouts are different in the summer than they are in the winter and I need to make sure I am eating enough. I would like to eventually get to where I don't have to everyday, do it…
  • If we are all in the same fat boat I sure hope its a sturdy one!
  • Just a quick update: I made these with Bob's Red Mill low carb baking mix and with King Arthurs White whole wheat flour. Both were 50 calories with slightly different macros. The low carb ones were ok (6g verses 9g carbs), chewier and didn't spread out as much. Anyone familiar with this mix knows the flavor. I really liked…
  • I probably will to some extent. I would like to believe that one day I can just maintain on my own, but I also know as I get older that my calorie needs will change. I am sure I will eventually gain more than I like then go back to tracking to get things back to a manageable weight. While I have always been a health…
  • For me lifting is less about how I look and more about as I age. I am still young but the older I get the more it hits me that I will only get older along with all the crap that goes with that. I don't want to be like my Mother who is in her early 60's but has a body of an 80 year old. I feel 60 is fairly young and you…
  • Bob's Red Mill has a low-carb baking mix that is 100cals per 1/4 cup. I will be trying this recipe with that. Obviously they still won't be 40 cals but worth a shot.
  • I was always a dirty blonde but wanted a beautiful rich brown. Now I am red obsessed and finely found a shade I love.....I need to update my profile pic :blushing: I like blonde and feel I look younger, but I get noticed more as a redhead. I don't care for Playboy bunny bleach blonde, though.
  • Sometimes I feel that way because w/o clothes I can see my muscles and definition. With clothes on thats covered up so its hard to tell that there's muscle and not just fat
  • I over ate yesterday, too for basically the same reason. I had the flu and two of my daughters did also. My husband works third shift which left it all up to me all night plus still having to work full-time during the day. I don't understand how I can feel so sick to my stomach yet overeat!! I would start to feel better…
  • I don't understand these kinds of posts...."Do guys think *blank* is hot" Why not make your self happy, do what you want to your body then attract the guys who do find that hot. Why would you not do something to yourself that you like just because someone else might not like it? If you follow that rule, you would never do…
  • Usually something very very sweet. I normally like things not too be sugary sweet, normally I prefer dark chocolate. Also I get into textures. I'll not just want a cookie, but it has to be a crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle thing or it doesn't kill the craving. Crunchy Biscoff Spread can take care of business…
  • I pay about $30 plus their stupid "processing fees". I do the same races pretty much so I already know when they start taking registrations so I can get the early bird specials. I have added two new ones this year but already had planned on them so I paid for those before their prices went up. I like to do several a year,…
  • I had a coworker who swore that she tried everything, even Weight Watchers but could never lose weight because she only ate one to two times a day and would always have all these points/calories left over..... She never logged or considered it may have been the full size Snickers bars, Reese's PB cups, Doritos, sodas and…
  • Join this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/3834-eat-more-to-weigh-less Lift heavy and eat more!
  • Working out as normal. Next week is my official rest week plus last week I had an extra rest day so I might as well. We will be home all day, we are all done with family get togethers so there isn't really a good reason not to.
