  • Where is this "steps" wejn? My account seems to work good most of the time, but I am working with someone now who has been trying to sync with no luck at all. This person has a Casio G'z phone and is have blue tooth issues. Does anyone know anything about this issue?
  • Where are the permissions located on my fitness pal for syncing? I found them on fitbit but still haven't been able to link the two together.
  • Oh, and I cut them up and put in snack bags and into the freezer all of the time. Works great for grab and go work snacks.
  • I've been making these with all kinds of additional/alternative ingredients and they are awesome!!! No sugar added, unless you add a few mini chocolate chips. You can freeze banana slices and thaw briefly and that works great if your current bananas aren't ripe enough. Grandkids love them too :)
  • I do it for me because it is accomplishing something that only I can do. I do it so that I hopefully can be healthier to be there for those that I love. Just read the serenity prayer. That seems to express it for me. For whatever reason it is definitely more fun shopping :)
  • My daughter did it last month...lost 12 lbs...
  • Hi, I've read through these and not found anyone as old as I, so here goes... Age: 60 Height: 5' 5" HW: 155 CW: 126 GW: 120(not sure if I really want to go there) I've been watching my weight go up and down for about 44 years. Now, I just want to keep it down under 127 and gain more muscle and quit shrinking! I'm not…
  • I'm not going to be too much help here, but I do partake of 5:2 off and on. I usually stay around 750-1000 on my "fast" days, just because I'm a bit of a cheater, but by staying within my weekly amount I am able to maintain at least. Need to get a bit more serious about it if I plan to lose any. I'm tired of people telling…
  • Hi there sunny :) I'm too am an Iowan. With the cold and snow today it makes it hard to do things that I like to do to stay active. I was in your spot just about a year ago and needed to get back to a weight that I was comfortable. I have walked daily for about 6 years now for 30 minutes. I now do 50 minutes with interval…
  • Post your tortilla soup recipe. Sounds good and maybe we can see what you could change to lower the sodium??
  • Oh my, this does sound awesome. I am alone in loving spice as well. I must try this! Thank you for posting :)
  • Hi there and welcome. I just turned 60 in June and did get back on my fitness pal in January to lose this weight once and for all! When I was in my early 50's I did start walking program and am proud to say I still do it 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day. I started to do T25 with my daughter in law in late June…
  • Thank you for sharing your story. You are a true inspiration and I am so happy for you!!
  • I am living vicariously through you all.

  • Anything wrapped in a low carb tortilla: chicken breast, tuna, veggies, ham, spread with laughing cow wedge. Rolled up in a wax paper square. Cut up veggies (radishes, carrots, celery). Only requires a small ice pack and lunch sack. You can pack a salad in a ziploc with the dressing in a small container. Throw in a packet…
  • Thanks for the link and tip. I'll try it.
  • Hi, I'm new to group, haven't really posted anything yet. I used to do a S. Deason yoga for weight loss DVD at home several years ago for a good run. Alas, I quit and haven't gotten much of a restart going. I'm turning 60 in less than two months and would like to get back to doing it at least a couple of times a week. I…
  • During the week I cook up a 4 day batch of Rye Flakes or Steel Cut Oats. Then on hectic mornings I reheat it with lots of goodies (pb2,chia seed, almond milk, banana, raisins, spices). Nice hot breakfast in about 2 minutes. On weekends I make homemade whole wheat waffles, or cook up a big pan of scrambled eggs with various…
  • I see a lot of truckers through the job I work and see common threads. Just think of it as changing what you can change. Every pit stop walk around your truck a few times. Packing your lunch is great. You will soon think those burgers are not yummy when your taste buds are refocused. Calories must be counted. I've not been…
  • Muscle weighs more than fat
  • I would like the recipe for those low carb tortillas :) I've tried most of the suggested switches and I think they are good, but I also think eating smaller portions for your favorites works too. As far as the substituting porter or stout for the lager - I really don't see the point, if you like it, not much difference…
  • Peel, chop, and stir fry in olive oil. Season with cumin, paprika, a little cayenne. When tender add shredded smoked gouda cheese just until melted. Yum. My daughter has been making these at Thanksgiving for the last several years. She has totally converted all haters of sweet potatoes!!! :)
  • I too have this same thing going on. I do really well at work Monday through Friday. I do try to eat under 600 calories two days per week to make up for the weekend. I switched off the wine bottle (same thing here, I would end up drinking more than I wanted to). I started hard cider beer. When you open them one at a time,…
  • Doritos - always a bad idea Any kind of candy - especially Crows. With Easter this weekend it will be bad. Hubby already bought the caramel Cadbury Eggs (only 4) and tons of other candy for the Grandkids and kids. I told him to hide it :)
  • oops - try this - no added sugar but mildly sweet if that counts. You can put the nuts/dried fruits you like in it and it is around 150 calories. That's much better than a candy bar and a bit healthier than my favorite: chocolate chip cookies :)

  • At Hy-Vee it is in the health market section. At Fareway it is with the gluten-free items. You can get it at Food Co-ops also, in the bulk area. Great stuff!
  • It may or may not help, depending on your genes. I eliminated most red meat and eggs thinking I was going to dodge the bullet. When my test was read my cholesterol was over 200! I took supplements including fish oil, etc. to no avail. My doctor said statins were needed after I had the in depth cholesterol check to see if…
  • Hi Oregon One thing I've learned over the years is repeated on here all of the time: calorie deficient :) My best advice is to not starve yourself, log it all, and get back on the horse as soon as you fall off! I've followed this advice (and not followed it) since my teens. Now I'm three months away from 60 and just…
