Hey everyone! My recipe is for crustless quiche, which I enjoy as a breakfast food more often than not. One of my goals is to get adequate protein and this recipe is really great for that. Crustless Quiche Number of servings 8 Per Serving: 159 kcals 18 grams protein Ingredients: Generic - Large Egg, 8 large egg Cottage…

Hey, sorry I'm a bit behind. I found the article on measuring my fitness level interesting - but required too much time this week for me to acutally do. As far as portions I am blessed with a very good eye for estimating volumes. I do use a kitchen scale a fair bit for weights and for meat. But what I'm always surprized by…

This week started out great, but it has quickly gone sideways! I only acheived below my calorie goals twice this whole week AND that was with eating every last one of my exercise calories! Sigh... I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in. But considering all the personal struggles many of you are facing I think I…

Armed with a pad of paper (which has the 7 days of the week listed down the side), a Grocery list pad and 2 recipe books/folder it takes me between 30-60min to plan my meals. I like to make meal plans for a week - generally just lunches and dinners since my breakfasts are generally the same. I have a sense of whether my…

Happy birthday! You are right, before pictures (as hard as they are to see) are such a good way to see how far we have come. Congradulations and blessings on the rest of your journey.

Taco salad! I don't need the chips or sour cream, just baked beans for the sauciness! Yumm - actually I just had it for lunch and made too much so it will be my dinner. Everyone else here at my house, can find some leftovers in the fridge.

I can relate to not believing the scale at times. It is a rare thing to be able to live in a walkable community - congradulations for actually taking advantage of your location! Well done! Love to see all those great pictures you're no longer afraid of having taken!

I love the 'life journey' statement! To influence the things we do have control over, with respect to our health, can change our lives so dramatically. You are such an inspiration! I hope those 3 kids can learn from your choices and appreciate your efforts to live a long life with them. Thank you for posting your pictures…

Down 2.2lbs - surprized but not going to pretend I can celebrate and have a treat! I actually don't believe it - numbers are not as objective as one might think. So I plan to stay under my calories everyday this coming week and drink my water consistently. Day one: so far so good!
-
Thanks for posting the pictures - truely inspiring. And to think exercise and tracking your calories are your strategies! It is so reasuring to see committed people having sucess with very reasonable - doable weight loss strategies. Wish you all the best on your second leg of your journey!

Hello all - I'm back from vacation. I've caught up reading all of your posts and am ready to get back to eating well. I found it really hard to eat well - camping and eating at other people's homes. But I've made a personal discovery (perhaps my NSV): I get nervous when I don't know when or what the next meal will be - and…

QOTD Monday: What is more important to YOUR weight loss journey: Diet or Exercise? Both, but what I eat mostly since it has the greatest impact on weight loss compare to exercise. QOTD Tuesday: I often crave sweet stuff and very often give into temptation without much thought. What strategies do you use to keep your…

Week One Question: What are your challenges to exercise regularly? Barrier No. 1: I don't have enough time to exercise Most often it is the end of the day before I manage to fit it in. Barrier No. 3: I'm self-conscious about how I look So I'm sweating like crazy in my own house instead of a gym or in the neighborhood. I've…

Hi everyone, I'm joining you today and am looking forward to the next 8 weeks with you all. Here are my musings about the 'readiness for change' questions: 1. Are you motivated to make long-term lifestyle changes? My motivation - at risk of diabetes, 4 kids who I want to have the energy to play with and be an example for,…

Is it too late to join? This sounds just like the challenge I need (and have needed for a long time!) I know a lot! I need to figure out how to put it into practise!

Thankyou for sharing this, I can relate to not knowing who I am outside of my role as a mom - it consumes me. As for my response to QOTD SATURDAY....... What makes you tick? What motivates you? What makes you get off your booty and do THIS? The scale moving down (not up) is hugely motivating! Feeling more energy and more…

Hey, I'm here too! Does your tool box include ARP? It is such a great program if you feel like you have lost the power to choose and want to break free. http://providentliving.org/content/display/0,11666,6629-1-3414-1,00.html

Your pictures are incredible! You are beautiful in both, but it must feel so great to be able to run 5k, and know your body is healthier and stronger! Keep up the hard work and you will reach your goal in no time!

QOTD Tuesday: What are your favorite low calorie snacks? Laughing cow cheese, and in season fresh fruit QOTD: Wednesday Favorite weight loss tool? Tredmill - it is a nice one that only cost $100 used. I love being able to throw on a pair of shoes and be able to get moving when ever it happens to work in my day. It takes…

QOTD FRIDAY: What is your biggest food weakness that you just can't give up (or eat less of) even though you feel like you should? Anything and everything sweet. Case in point today, who eats strawberry jam by the spoonful?! I just couldn't resist as I was making batch after batch of jam today!

Sorry everyone, it seems I had two dates for QOTD - I just posted one on Sunday and didn't notice with the new recruits that I had today as well. So if anyone is still up out there in cyber-world: QOTD Thursday: Do you take supplements - what and why? I take: Vitamin C - for skin and antioxidant properties, Ca - can't seem…
