  • Good luck to you today. I hope that the weather holds. If Louisville weather matches Indy's weather (only 100 miles away), we are getting rain (light drizzle) with occasional thunderstorms, but the weather is cool....60 degrees.
  • So I am back from my trip to Nashville, which is a great city. Enjoyed the concert until 2 young people decided to chat during the concert. They were talking, taking selfies and totally ignored me turning my head to glare at them. Why spend that money to talk through the concert. My husband sat next to a lady who was…
  • So planned and ran 12 miles today. Legs were fairly fresh until mile 9....and then could feel myself slowing down a lot. Also having more difficulty than expected with lungs. My mother's basement has a mold issue...I hope that I didn't inhale any spores. Or it could be that I am not in as great a shape as I want to be. I…
  • @lporter229 That was a terrific recap and worth the wait. I love how you didn't recognize Heartbreak Hill as if you faced harder hills than that. So amazing. I hope that you heal quickly.
  • After missing my goal 3 months in a row, I finally achieved (bested) my goal last month, having run 61.43 miles. This month my goal will be 50 miles. My husband and I planned a trip to Nashville at the end of the month. We will probably be walking a lot. My husband doesn't share my love for running. 4/18....4 miles.....I…
  • I had a rough day today after having a conversation with an "agent" from DirecTV. We changed to u-verse and I was told by both ATT and another agent from DirecTV that my account with Direct was terminated only to be told today that it wasn't true. I was put on hold 3 times, struggled with their voice-mail and will still…
  • Happy Birthday, and birthday runs are the best!

  • @MobyCarp and @lporter229: Congratulations on completing the Boston Marathon in awesome finishing times. So impressed with you, @MobyCarp for toughing it out with your cold, cramps and other issues...so in awe with your finishing time even with walking breaks. A true champion overcomes adversity. Can't wait to hear…
  • @MobyCarp and @lporter229 ....wishing you both the best on your endeavors today. I know that you both will savor the experience. I am looking forward to reading your race reports.
  • You are amazing....wake up....decide to run in a race...no planning....never ran the race distance and then "Knock it out of the park."
  • Thanks for posting this. My employer is going to pay the entrance fee for the 5 K/ half marathon at Geist Reservoir this year. It is so tempting to sign up because I have never run it and the course should be beautiful and it would be free. However it is 2 weeks after the Indy Mini, which I have already signed up for and…

  • Thanks. I think Arrogate is the second coming of Man O'War...I am pretty high on him. The Derby looks pretty wide open. I really like Tapwrit and think he has a real shot to win the Derby.. The last Derby prep races are April 8th and will probably know more afterward. Where I grew up, I lived 65 miles from Louisville and…
  • Didn't meet goal in February. No good excuse. Picked up a couple of overtime shifts at work...so was unmotivated afterward. Have a stretch of days off from work...so able to get some runs in. Focusing on just getting 3 to 4 runs in per week, with one of them being a long run. Need to buy another heart rate monitor....had…
  • I love this post....so inspiring that you take 2 buses to get to a place where you feel safe running! Wish I could channel your enthusiasm when I feel kind of "bleh" on getting my run or workout in.
  • Didn't meet goal in February. No good excuse. Picked up a couple of overtime shifts at work...so was unmotivated afterward. After watching Arrogate's performance in the Dubai World cup, I really wanted to run this afternoon...so inspired! Even my husband who doesn't watch horse racing watched the race on You tube 3 times.…
  • Didn't meet goal in February. No good excuse. Picked up a couple of overtime shifts at work...so was unmotivated afterward. Was cold and raining after I finished work. So I opted to run on the treadmill instead. Just don't like running in rain with lightening flashing. Long run planned at the end of this week. May not only…
  • Thanks so much....this helps more than you know and may solve a lot of my problems. I never thought about my core being weak..but no doubt that's true. I am definitely going to check out the yoga for runners.
  • Didn't meet goal in February. No good excuse. Picked up a couple of overtime shifts at work...so was unmotivated afterwards. It was the first time I ran outside in cold (to me) weather. The temp was 31 degrees with "real feel" of 24 and snow flurries. I wore layers....leggings and a wool sweater. The first mile was…
  • Didn't meet goal in February. No good excuse. Picked up a couple of overtime shifts at work...so was unmotivated afterwards. It was a rough night at work Friday and I was late getting out, but determined to get a run in. I opted to run on the treadmill at my gym, as it was on the way home. As I got to the gym to change out…
  • Have you tried adding essential fatty acids to your diet to help your skin condition. I had some weird dry skin patches on the back of arms...and it went away faster adding it to my diet. It takes about 6 months to see improvement.
  • How much have you lost? And congratulations on almost reaching your goal! I know someone who had the skin removed from her arms...big ugly scars!
  • Didn't meet goal in February. No good excuse. Picked up a couple of overtime shifts at work...so was unmotivated afterwards. Decided to run a few miles after work (I work a 12+hour night shift). Packed my clothes headed to the Monon trail. It was 42 degrees, the coldest temp I have run outdoors (I am such a wimp) and a…
  • Didn't meet goal in February. No good excuse. Picked up a couple of overtime shifts at work...so was unmotivated afterwards. Good weather though. Another 50+ degree weather day.....I focused on running very slowly and very far. My goal was 10 miles but didn't quite get there. My feet became extremely tired. My legs were…
