I used to avoid groups because I felt inadequate or that I wouldnt' be able to keep up because of my health issues. I made a goal a few years ago to try a group class at my gym. I would get to the gym around the time a class would start...hover around the room...then run off to the weights by myself where I didn't feel…

LOL...no, but I work in an extremely diverse office where most of my co-workers are not American, and thus, seem to be a bit more compassionate than calling me a "dweeb" for being born with a lifelong illness ;)

Wow....so I guess your objections to wearing a mask trump those around you who might now be able to "build up their immune system" and could literally die from other's germs? I'm immunocompromised - been on low dose chemotherapy for eight years now. When people start getting sick in my office I wear a mask to protect…

It's really something that you need to discover as we all react differently to exercise. I have SLE (lupus), Behcets Disease, RA, Fibro and EDS to name a few...a lot of the types of exercise recommended (yoga, swimming, etc) actually caused me a lot of additional inflammation and pain and from what I have heard among…

I will admit that I usually use weekends to go off the rails a bit…but this weekend was surprisingly good! I had a cupcake Friday night…which after having some vegan ice cream at lunch that day was probably not needed…but oh well. Other than that, I stayed on plan and in my macro/calorie goals so yay! I got my groceries…

I would check out Facebook Marketplace if you're on FB....we got one on there for $10 that was still in it's original packaging. Person got it as a gift and never used it. I've had a lot of success getting new or almost-new products for really cheap that way.

I created a bunch on my phone app and they disappeared. When I logged into a PC this morning they were all there and I was able to add them. A glitch perhaps?

So I'm on day three of this new workout regime that I have incorporated into my normal routine and OMFG I'm sore as sh!+ today! It's a good sore, and I think I'm over the period and migraine hump of last week so yay! Who knew that your 30's was just one type of ache or pain after another lol!

This. It really depends on what you like to do for a workout. There's thousands of apps catered to different styles of exercise, so the more detailed you can be the better fit of an app you'll find!

I would most definitely check with a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist first and foremost, but I would imagine pulley-system or cable machines may be beneficial. I have nerve damage in my foot/ankle and when I have more limited mobility these are useful.

so how are you all trying to lose weight? Diet? Exercise? Portion control? All of the above? I'm a powerlifter and so I KNOW I've overfed myself for strength gains. I'm not competing again for the forseeable future, so I'm trying really hard to cut some of this fluff. I'm really taking a good look at what I'm eating right…

I take a prenatal vitamin. My doctor said that regardless of if you plan on having more children, or children in general, it's the best one because we need more folic acid as we age. So even after baby and nursing I continued to take them. Also not really a vitamin per se, but I take collagen and melatonin.

Right?! Germ monsters!

Not gonna lie...I'm trying super hard not to let this be me in a few days. I've already had to remind myself that no, it is NOT okay for me to just stick my hand in a bag of trail mix because before I know it, the bag will be half-full...I keep a mini scale in my desk at work, so I'm always very specific with how much I…

Welcome!

Absolutely if I don't have to pay tax on that 10k.

Wine. I live across the street from one. TJ's is my wine shop lol. I've contemplated moving just so I'm not so close to them. But, they're so cheap that I'm also thankful they're the closest grocer to me!

I eat a lot of seitan (which wouldn't work if you don't do gluten) and TVP - I have TVP at almost every meal (It's actually delicious as a sweet breakfast!). I make a smoothie bowl out of Protein Nut Milk, Protein powder, and fruit and have that at some point during the day but it's the only time I use a protein powder. I…

I have found my athletic abilities again by becoming competitive in Powerlifting! It's amazing and been such a rush.

Nice to meet you all! Nice to not feel like I'm the only person in my boat too...welcome aboard!

It's part of your daily routine already, so it's accounted for in your daily totals already. I don't track it anymore, but when I used to, it was only on days where I'd do like a major deep-clean (think, Spring cleaning, top to bottom) when I'd spend 6-8 hours hard cleaning.

Hi there! Where to start? Lupus (SLE), Behcets Disease, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Fibromyalgia, Hashimotos and a Stevens Johnsons Syndrome survivor. I agree…it’s HARD! I lost close to 50 pounds of the weight I had put on since my dx started coming in and I worked SO HARD to do it. Then I ended up with a…

I opened this the day you posted it and was curious about your user name, but didn't want to pry. I have EDS too, and can really only workout first thing in the morning most days. I'm a powerlifter, and it's HARD for me to eat in the morning. I usually do a shake and banana...and that's really all I can take without…

Nice! I ended up being totally WIPED at work yesterday after my morning workout. I think I'm getting a sinus infection because it feels like I've been punched in the face. I stocked up on electrolyte water, and salty soups along with meds at the pharmacy last night, and I feel a little better this morning but will be…

So....the funniest thing...was me lol. I was doing small group personal training and our trainer had us warming up with a cardio competition - who could row 500 meters the fastest. Well, I'm super competitive, so I was ready for her to say GO! Unfortunately, I was not seated on my rower correctly, and when I flung myself…

34. Had an amazing transformation thanks to hard work and this site a few years ago. Ended up with a bone tumor in my foot which meant surgery, and basically 8 months of re-learning how to walk, etc. And also meant falling off hardcore. I've struggled for the past two years to find my groove again, but I feel really good…

If you are looking for a calorie-free energy drink that doesn't taste like blech...try the Zevia ones. They taste delicious and have 150mg of caffeine...a good jolt :) https://www.zevia.com/products/energy

So you are exercising every day? At what intensity? Could it be you need to be eating around 1800/day?
-
If you can't eat less because of willpower, perhaps you need to eat more nutritionally dense foods that keep you fuller longer?
